Watching the polls, I get no idea that being impeached has HELPED Donald Trump the way some have bragged it would. In fact, things seem to have gotten a bot worse for him.

I hate to be the bearer of cautionary news, but keep in mind the election will be won in battleground states, not on the national level:

6 takeaways from CNN's latest national poll on 2020

6. Democrats have a battleground problem

Look at these same general election matchups in the 15 closest states in 2016. It's Biden 49% to Trump's 47%, Sanders' 49% to Trump's 49% and Trump's 49% to Warren's 48%. All of those are within the margin of error. This follows last month's poll when Trump was doing better in the battlegrounds than overall. It's the same story that we saw in our polling last month. A look at the national picture likely undersells Trump's strength.

"6 takeaways from CNN's latest national poll on 2020 6. Democrats have a battleground problem"

Too bad CNN is partly responsible for creating and perpetuating that problem.

I don't get your cheerleading. Two of the three Democrats beat Trump in this poll and one ties with him.

I don't know. Trump's disapproval ratings are the highest of any president running for re-election I believe. Only a few have run for re-election with disapproval outweighing approval. Only Obama actually won and he lost a lot of voters (6 million) versus his first election and he was only down 2% disapproval versus approval. Trump is down 10-11%.

Trump can't lose 6 million voters.

If you have a pro-labor Democrat? Ok.

If it's Biden or Bloomberg, good luck.

No, see it's anyone but Trump, unless it could be Bernie, then it definitely should be someone else, because anyone can win, but if you talk about issues, then we're divided, but we should come together, unless it's behind Bernie, because anyone can win.

Honestly, I can't see Biden or even Bloomberg losing to Trump. Bloomberg might be close. But he's got no chance in the primaries.

It will come down to who drops out first. If its Warren, Biden likely win. If its Biden or Bernie, Warren likely wins.

In almost all of the surveys listed above, Sanders is beating Trump by the largest margin.

Sanders is also the only candidate that has realistic solutions to solving most of our most troubling problems.

Sanders it should be!

#20 | Posted by Whatsleft at 2020-01-23 02:13 PM

SE Michigan isn't going to vote for Biden or Bloomberg unless Bernie's on the ticket (and he won't be). You're going to see that when Bernie slaughters both of them in the Michigan primary.

#21 | Posted by Ben_Berkkake at 2020-01-23 02:19 PM

I genuinely believe that the only way the Democratic nominee can lose in 2020 would be if we re-nominated HRC. Trump is so bad that literally anyone other than Clinton should be able to beat him.

#22 | Posted by moder8 at 2020-01-23 02:20 PM

Warren is a total poser. She's toast.

He actually does pretty well in one-on-one debates. He killed it in the past.

#26 | Posted by Sycophant at 2020-01-23 02:54 PM

#14 Trump's approval ratings are similar to when he beat Hillary. You vastly overestimate the intelligence and engagement of the average American voter.

The EC system will most likely be at odds with the popular vote again.

#28 | Posted by schifferbrains at 2020-01-23 04:33 PM

"The EC system will most likely be at odds with the popular vote again."

THIS is why Bloomberg should use his billions to register, educate, and transport every possible voter he can in the swing states.

#29 | Posted by Danforth at 2020-01-23 04:36 PM

Trump was so bad, only Coulter believed he'd win the nomination.

Trump was so bad, the whole media believed he'd lose the election.

For the first few hours of election night, road to victory was assured. For Hillary.

For Trump? He has to win this. Has to win that. It'll take a miracle and Trump just won't do it because the polls just don't support it.

Even if he does flip the States, he still loses.

So, why would anyone believe any of this? Remember the day after.

Trump was an enigma. He still is.
He is not a politician, yet all that he has done is like one. He is all a business man, like Rodney described in his movie. Those combined traits is scarier than anything this world has ever seen.

Where is the 'm'?

Mini Mike hits Little Donnie where it hurts:

Joe Scarborough @JoeNBC

"In Texas, when asked whether the country wanted a race between two New York billionaires, Bloomberg replied, Who's the other one?

#31 | Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2020-01-24 01:03 AM

You're all so giddy in here.

Let's all take a deep breath and put our feet back on the ground.

Remind ourselves. Polls are meaningless.

Otherwise Trump would have lost in 2016.

There were threads about Texas turning blue for crying out loud.

This is not a time for celebration or relief.

The election is in 10 months and I honestly don't believe this will be any sort of cake walk.

You're not giving Republicans enough credit.

They know how to win.

I have to agree. Things are far from hopeless but the fact is Trump and his people, like Satan and his devils, know how to cheat.

The nominee for the Democratic Socialist's presidential candidate?

I hate Trump. He will get my vote if the election comes down to him and Trump.

#34 | Posted by madbomber at 2020-01-24 12:36 PM

"Sanders is also the only candidate that has realistic solutions to solving most of our most troubling problems."

Sanders is presenting what you view as realistic solutions because you really, really, really want to believe. But he is selling you a false bill of sale. It's a scam.

#35 | Posted by madbomber at 2020-01-24 12:38 PM

Want to win, you have to win Michigan, Wisconsin, and PA.

I think Biden would have the best shot in those states, esp if Trump does some minor self-destructing during the upcoming months........

yawn... another day.... another fake poll.... I remember when Hillary was in the lead in CNN poll back in 2016...

The only thing I like about these polls is that Democrats spend an awful lot of money on them when they could spend it on a TV commercials.

With TV commercials you can lie... but someone can always check... with paid for polls, you can lie but there is no way to check.
