Pelosi appears to believe the voters elected a Democratic majority to the House in order to be moderate and safe. She is entirely protective of the conservative Democrats within the caucus who tried to thwart her speakership before it even began, and who vote with the Republicans much of the time.

"A vast slew of other people believe voters gave Democrats the House majority in order to thwart the wrecking-ball intentions of the disaster factory that is the Trump White House. Among those who believe this are Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota), Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) and Ayanna Pressley (D-Massachusetts).

Pelosi often speaks of President Trump's lies and impeachable offenses, but steadfastly refuses to consider impeachment as a viable tool despite a large vat of obstruction evidence at her feet, because of those conservative members. When a chance came to fight for legislation to address the execrable concentration camps at the border, Pelosi instead supported the far crueler Senate Republican version of the bill, again in deference to those conservative House Democrats."

It is completely delusional to think that voters want "Democratic Socialism". Pushing this ---- almost guarantees a second Trump term.

Wrong

When the individual issues are polled, they all have majority support ...

Allow Government to Negotiate Drug Prices (79%)

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (77%)
Fair Trade that Protect Workers, the Environment, and Jobs (75%)
End Tax Loopholes for Corporations that Ship Jobs Overseas (74%)
End Gerrymandering (73%)
Let Homeowners Pay Down Mortgage With 401k (72%)

Close Offshore Corporate Tax Loopholes (70%)
Green New Deal -- Millions Of Clean-Energy Jobs (70%)
Full Employment Act (70%)
Expand Social Security Benefits (70%)

All of the above are in line with Bernie Sanders' politics and all are extremely popular, with support across the political spectrum. For example, the infrastructure jobs program (a key element of Sanders' platform) had 91% support from Democrats, 61% from independents and even 55% support from Republicans -- compared to only 28% who were opposed.

So you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Court is getting ready to overrun ACA, when that happens voters will be ready for war against the Republicans and will support Medicare for All. Americans are tired of Republicans forcing people who get sick into bankrumptcy. Some say Democrats grab defeat from the mouth of victory but Republicans are prepping to do it to themselves in such a powerful move that they will never recover.

Voters generally don't want one party rule by either party, as they've shown repeatedly.

America does not have a [traditional] far left movement.

Our far right are fascists.
Our center right are extremist nationalists.
Our center left are classical conservatives.
Our far left are moral centrist moderates.
Any objective political compass would place politicians like Sanders and Warren barely left of center.

A real far leftist movement would be advocating for forced property seizure by the working class.

Instead our far left is like "don't let people die in medical poverty please."

The left has become utterly delusional.

Go ahead and nominate a far-left candidate. Barring a massive recession just before the election and you will guarantee Trump a second term.

The left cannot be trusted to tell us the actual extent of their extremism. The young ones have grown up in a bubble and don't realize how extreme they appear. It doesn't seem like it to most, but they are still filtering their communist totalitarian instincts. In every case when they gain power they purge the population. Real purges, real death camps.

Truth ...

Lamplighter is over on his thread, fighting that AoC is an anomaly, and its the Republicans pushing her to the spotlight.

In this thread we see the truth.

Should be interesting to see Lamps comments.

Moot point on your part.

We're the richest country in the world, ever.

So if we can't pay for the things that overwhelmingly majorities support, now, than we're toast as a country.

But I get it, your dopey retrograde personal politics is more important than what majorities of Americans want done.

No we aren't ... we are the most indebted country the world has ever seen. We have been able to kick the can down the road for future generations to pick up the tab.

Now you are just talking silly talk; if you can't pay for things you "want", but you buy it anyway; you are toast.

Eisenhower balanced the budget, twice.

Clinton also balanced the budget, with projected surpluses for a decade as he left office.

Let's see ... who pissed away all the nation's money from 2001 to 2009?

Lemme guess ... Bernie Sanders! Amirite?

Eisenhower balanced the budget, twice.

So? Was entitlement spending 60% of the budget?

Clinton also balanced the budget,

Notice the trend line .... Clinton was blip ... and used SS revenue to reach this mythical number.
cdn.factcheck.org

Government also accrued a non-cash interest expense of $187 billion for intra-governmental debt, primarily the Social Security Trust Fund, for a total interest expense of $432 billion. BTW Military budget is 500+ Billion.

IT won't be long now interest payments will be more than the military budget.

with projected surpluses for a decade as he left office.

If nothing changed in SocialSecurity Entitlements.

who pissed away all the nation's money from 2001 to 2009?

I suppose you are referring to the Iraq war, while expensive, it was only $2.4Trillion dollars, or about 5-7% of spending over ten years. In welfare spending alone in 2017 we spent $4 trillion.

You don't even know the numbers, you don't even know how we spend our tax revenue.

You're a right-wing hack.

Perhaps ...

The Green New Deal failed to pass a procedural hurdle in the Senate on Tuesday, with Democrats denouncing the motion as a "sham" and largely voting "present" as a show of unity.

Between the lines: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell brought the vote in a political effort to get Democrats on the record and highlight intra-party divisions over the ambitious proposal. Democrats have argued McConnell held the vote in order to eliminate any debate, hearings or public testimony about the resolution, which many see as a starting point for addressing the threats posed by climate change.

43 Democrats voted "present." Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.), Doug Jones (Ala.) and Angus King (Maine) -- who is an independent but caucuses with Democrats -- voted "no."

Nulli's right, Pinch. Pelosi isn't legislating, she's claiming that she's legislating and mugging for the papers.

She can barely corral her own caucus. What happened to "constitutional crisis". that lasted like 72 hours.

They both suck, but it is as factual as water being wet that Trump and Republicans SUCK head and shoulders ABOVE anything from Pelosi and Democrats.

The common denominator is corruption, and again, they're both dirty ... though Republicans are WAY WORSE as testament to the trillions of free taxpayer dollars doled out to millionaires, billionaires and corporations already making record profits, along with the Lying Orange Douchebag who is now in the White House.

Plus, Nancy Pelosi isn't a traitor like Trump is.
