Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

WASHINGTON -- I was feeling on edge. Writing a column that sparks an internecine fight among the highest-profile women in the Democratic Party is nerve wracking. So I went to the gym. Alex Toussaint, the digital Peloton instructor inside the little screen on my spinning bike, had some wisdom for me -- the kind of New Age bromide dispensed in spin classes everywhere: You climb the mountain to see the world. You don't climb the mountain so the world can see you.

They've even lost Maureen Dowd due to their snarling self-righteousness.

Best part of the article:

"Rahm Emanuel told me Chakrabarti is "a snot-nosed punk" who has no idea about the battle scars Pelosi bears from the liberal fights she has led.

"What votes did you get?" Emanuel said, rhetorically challenging A.O.C.'s chief of staff. "You should only be so lucky to learn from somebody like Nancy who has shown incredible courage and who has twice returned the Democratic Party to power.

"We fought for years to create the majorities to get a Democratic president elected and re-elected, and they're going to dither it away. They have not decided what's more important: Do they want to beat Trump or do they want to clear the moderate and centrists out of the party? You really think weakening the speaker is the right strategy to try to get rid of Donald Trump and everything he stands for?"

Why is Rahm Emanuel so obsessed with AOC and Snot Nose?

How do the AOC fanboys attack Emanuel, Obama's other wingman?

Not to worry the orange shart wagon has united the Dems by outing himself and his supporters as the racist scum that they all are.

This is turning into an epic battle of patriots loyal to the US constitution and Fascist -------- that are still sore the confederates lost.

I'm about to hit ride #300 with Alex T, but I think Robin is a better coach. The fortune cookie wisdom from all of the Peloton coaches is delightful.

Other fun quotes from Alex:

"This is not daycare" "We ride together, we shine together" "---- is hard. Do it anyway" "Easy doesn't make you proud"

I suspect you enjoy Peloton. I have been pondering it as riding on the roads is getting more dangerous by the year.

I do. Solid workout, no injuries, 1/3 the price of a monthly unlimited membership at a spin gym. If you have shoes that take look delta cleats you can book a showroom demo ride.

You just have to keep in mind there's 2 separate things. Equipment and the streaming service. The service is $15/month for app only users that already have their own spin bikes (me), or $40/month for peloton bike or treadmills owners. That's on top of the bike or treadmill payments if you finance. You get unique logins for each household user on the same plan at that rate at least.

Do you own the peloton bike? OR is it a lease? Seems like you own it?

Is the "bike" usable without the membership/$40, suppose after 3yrs, and I just want to do my own spin?

Do they keep track of your workouts?
Does it work with a heartrate monitor?
Do they have endurance sessions?
Does it work with WiFi?

Sorry for all the questions, but I don't know of anyone with it. Sounds promising though ...

I am planning a trip next summer, I have missed my European cycling trips, and need to get in form again.

You own it. You can ride it without a subscription but you'll still need something for content (youtube, studio sweat on demand, music, whatever). All logged in workouts are tracked, cadence/power/heart rate.

There's a live leaderboard (ymmv, there is a variance in how the bikes are calibrated so just measure against yourself or others on the same bike, not other remote users). It's compatible with common ant+ cycling heart rate monitors like sosche & wahoo.

It has wifi and a port for a network cable, use what you like.

The longest endurance session is 90 minutes, there's 10 in the archive. There are also pro cycling classes run by former tour de france riders. The intervals are intense. It has a good mix of general rides, HIIT, tabata, hill climbs. People love the power zone endurance setup, it has a special GUI that calibrates to you after an FTP test ride and is specifically for high endurance training.

Most Westin hotels have them in their gyms, and all of the stores have demo rides. The hotels use spd cleat/foot strap pedals. The stores have the factory pedals which are look delta cleat only. You can replace those with whatever you'd like that fit standard road bikes. Many people switch them with Shimano spd pedals.

Cool, I have some SPD's for my mtn bike.

I will go checkout one of the stores. Thanks, appreciate your time and all the great information.

Let you know how it goes.

Katy Flatland Century next week. 101 miles at 93 degrees. At least its flat. MS 150 was last month. All great rides, and the only time worth going outdoors with it lol.

Posts 1-7 are rather pathetic.

They support Orange Schittheap but think they need to tell the Dems what they should be doing.

All while giving their sniveling little bitch posts FFs.
