Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, July 14, 2019

The Fox & Friends crew were very amused by President Donald Trump‘s suggestion that the four congresswomen in the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez squad should leave the United States and return to the countries from which they came -- which is, for three of them, the United States. ... The hosts of Fox & Friends Sunday were greatly amused by Trump's tweets, reading them aloud and laughing audibly. ... Others were not so amused, including former Republican and current Independent Congressman Justin Amash, who called the tweet "racist and disgusting."

in this climate today, here and the rest of the world, think about an orator like Obama or Kennedy but with the morals and patriotism of trump, with Citizens United and the republican party behind them.

Leni Riefenstahl pales in comparison to Fox news and twitter

and I'm afraid we're a lot closer than we realize to this being more than conjecture

OH NO....hitler was brutal in his rise. he found a scapegoat and as he conscripted those into the ghettos and later the camps..he proved he was correct in his actions by elevating the german middle class..lots of government spending on germany. crystal night and the brownshirts

trump may appear to be a nationalist..he may spout their slogans, but he's no more a nationalist than he is a patriot.
both require adherence to their respective credos ... trump doesn't have any guiding principles
trump is just a crook

a german patriot in 1936 would say that nationalism is patriotism

an american patriot might say that our patriotism lies in the precepts of the constitution and that adherence to those principles won't allow the restrictions on individuals rights that would be imposed by strict nationalism

#13 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2019-07-15 03:42 AM | Reply

It's a shame Liberals have turned the definition of racism into anything they feel is offensive. There is nothing racist about telling people to go from one place to another. It's a dumb statement. It can be seen as offensive. But racist? Nope, no way at all you can spin it using intelligence to make it racist. All you can do is whine and cry about it and mold the statement to fit whatever narrative you feel will get you the most clicks and votes...e.g. racist. Liberals have truly marginalized what real racism is, which ensures racism will never die.

How do you know you're racist? When you are completely confused and can't understand what people are talking about when they point out something that is blatantly racist.

Please explain to me. Three of them were born in America. They are already here. So, where is it that they should "go back to"?

The ONLY reason he said that to them is because of their ethnicity (race). Trump thinks he is more of an "American" than they are because he is white. Or, turn that around, he thinks they are LESS "American" because they are not white.

And, quite obviously, it is better to be "more" American than "less" if you are a naturally born American. So Trump (and a lot of Republicans) think they are superior to people of other ethnicities solely because of race.

Did that connect the dots for you?

Why people are speaking up against Trump's "trolling":

Molly McKew @MollyMcKew

Please stop covering POTUS. It's all bait.

Asha Rangappa @AshaRangappa_

Molly, I respect your take, but no. Not on this one. There are a lot of times when Trump just says dumb stuff that doesn't warrant attention. But if he were to, say, use the n-word, or unse an anti-Semitic slur, it must be covered, because it is so over the line.

I realize that "so over the line" feels like every day with him, but honestly to dismiss his remarks as mere "bait" not worthy of attention ignores the impact it has on people who have heard it repeatedly. I can guarantee you people like me are going to be hearing it a lot more.

Molly McKew @MollyMcKew

It absolutely deserved denunciation and to be called what it is -- which is why I condemn the silence from so many about what he says.

We can't have the conversation we need to have on his terms. And we need to figure out a better way.

Yes, that is what Trump does: emboldens the racists among his base. Those among his base who are not racists need to speak up. They are the only ones Trump might be inclined to listen to. Liberals and #neverTrumpers criticizing him mean nothing to him.

Note that he did not use the R-word. The first articles that come up on Google news are about how he and another politician condemned Trump's tweet but didn't call it racist. So yeah, they get it.

Sorry, posted these quotes in the wrong thread:

Rep. Michael Turner (Ohio) on Monday became the second GOP lawmaker to condemn President Trump's tweet about a group of Democratic lawmakers as "racist."

"@realDonaldTrump's tweets from this weekend were racist and he should apologize. We must work as a country to rise above hate, not enable it."

Rep. Will Hurd of Texas, the only black GOP House member, was one of the first to offer forceful criticism, as he has often done against the president. Hurd called Trump's tweets "racist and xenophobic" and said it made it "harder" for him to win over nontraditional GOP voters.
