Some members of the United States House are concerned the Pentagon may have unleashed disease-infected ticks that caused the spread of Lyme disease.

Our gubmint releasing ticks makes as much sense as blaming the rushins for the billery curb kick and the no-vax.

pretending that the 2016 election wasn't affected by Russian meddling is just what overly defensive defenders of Trump do, they can't deal with the fact that he did not legitimately win election. Never will legitimately win election.

Whatever...hopefully they haven't done what's being suggested.

It's based on a book written suggesting the DoD released some ticks infected.

I doubt we really ever get to the bottom of it either way.

The vast majority of the bio-weapon research done in the 50s and 60s by the US was preventive. You have to have the vector to produce the antibodies/vaccines. Meanwhile back in the USSR, they were going full tilt in production of germ weapons, by their on admission. The military with some uncharacteristic wisdom never considered bio weapons practical or the effects predictable. Most of the offensive research we did was on diseases that effected rice and wheat. The Russians did most of theirs on Anthrax. That only cost a few thousand Soviet lives.
BTW, Lyme disease is not practical as a weapon. The systems of Lime disease take months if not years to develop.
What the silver lining in this ugly cloud is the number of vaccines developed because of this research, like Hoof and Mouth, Anthrax, Cholera, Typhus and many you never heard of.

New York's Plum Island and Maryland's Fort Detrick may have infected insects for biological weapon tests -- and then released those insects outside of the lab, leading to the spread of Lyme disease.

Is this for real? For what purpose would this have been done?! Find those "researchers" and extract the answers.

I've read that their ongoing chemtrails program is also used as a manner of testing the spread of contagions using desiccated infectious matter along with radioactive compounds, etc.

What kind of "defense" program would these be? Biological weapons testing to what ends? Why? What do they deserve in return?

If 9/11 was another Pentagon program, which appears to be the case, what can be done to prevent their traitorous, dangerous behavior?

Are they eventually going to sterilize the population when these programs become public knowledge? I absolutely believe they would. The Inspector General is undoubtedly going to find or report nothing significant. Rumsfeld wiped out an entire group of Navy auditors, so watch your back..

#9 | Posted by redlightrobot, A conspiracy of such scope would require the knowledge and participation of a large number of people. Yet 18 years on, not a peep from anyone. BTW, tics can't swim or fly. The only way to get to the mainland would be to be carried on a host.

And at least for Plum Island that would only happen with a human host considering any sort of deer that swim that far out are dealt with as it is the only current site of active FMDV research in the US.

See you say that...but this is a government that paid the Men who stare at goats... So...definitely none of it is out of the realm of possibility.

Also, the Russian thing was confirmed by every intelligence agency, the Mueller Report, and even Trump himself admitted it.

So go crawl back in your little hole.

Another idiot who probably drives an SUV for no reason with an 80" TV and clothes with brand names or logos all over them who wants to act like marketing doesn't work.

How many shirts do you own that don't say under armor on them or have a swoosh or whatever? Be honest and answer the question instead of regurgitating some lame ass "insult" you didn't even think of yourself)

a. point out that marketing works and, therefore, acting as if Russian influence has to be tampering with vote counts or bust is stupid

b. point out that punching yourself in the face then lashing out at others because your face hurts is the epitome of stupidity

Seriously, you idiots are so incapable of introspection it's no surprise you're still Trump fans.

The Russia people are sad but funny. $100,000 spend mostly on puppy-dog adds and Obama stuff even though he couldn't serve another term, and mostly spent after the election. And by a private company. Facebook said it had no effect on the election when it reviewed the ads.

Hillary spent 2.3 billion and stole the primary. Now who influenced the election?

Oh and when she lost she tried to stage a coup.

#32 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2019-07-16 02:21 PM | Reply

I could see this being true. But if so it probably wasn't "released". It probably "escaped". It is hard to keep diseases contained, and easy to make a mistake and end up with it escaping into the wild.

Also, just because Lyme disease is not a good weapon does not mean it was not developed as one. For every success there are probably 10 (or more) failed attempts.

First of all, no one ever acknowledges that they made an important decision based on marketing, especially in politics, where everyone likes to think they are independent and knowledgeable.

And second, you are aware that none of the Russian ads, social media posts, meetup notices or opinion pieces were marked RUSSIAN COLLUSION, right? They were made to look like they were the work of regular folk, like that excellent takedown of a Dem came from a like-minded American.

So now we're back to my first point. While we might be loath to admit we fell for a marketer's spin, what about when a friend or someone else you agree with or respect says something you were already thinking but hadn't quite solidified in your mind? You telling me that you're immune to outside influences? If so, what's the point of this site? Or of any argument?

And if that online friend or expert is actually a smooth-talking foreign asset, it gets complicated pretty fast.

My mother's life was ruined by lymes disease she got from a tick in her garden in NC.

Her insurance company wouldnt cover it because they said ticks in that area shouldn't carry lymes disease so it couldnt be lymes disease it it was all in her head.

Lyme disease has been documented for at least a couple of hundred years, and has existed for probably thousands. The time-traveling capabilities of the US Military must be amazing.

Read the History section here to get a idea where to start looking for primary sources. There are actual descriptions of the disease and its vector written down in the 18th and 19th centuries. DNA tests showed Ötzi the Iceman had lyme disease more than 5 thousand years ago.

There is plenty of evidence that Lyme existed in Europe more than 100 years ago as well. The first case documented in the US was only discovered because the doctor remember a description of the disease from some European medical papers. Please, the idea that this was somehow new and could have been an "escaped" bio-weapon is farcical.
