Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Over on the home page, my colleague Madeleine Kearns tells the disturbing story of Canadian trans activist, Jessica Yaniv, a Canadian biologically-intact man who identifies as a transgender woman and who is trying to legally coerce beauticians into waxing his scrotum. Yes, you read that correctly: He's trying to force unwilling women to handle his genitalia.

Madeleine covers the facts of the case very well. I'd like to focus a bit on how the edges of trans activism can put extraordinary strains on the law, placing elements of nondiscrimination statutes into irreconcilable conflict. The Yaniv case is an extreme example, and one would think that thoughtful trans activists would oppose the idea of forcing women to handle a scrotum, but let's look at mainstream American Democratic policy. Let's look at the conflict between Title IX, Title VII, and the Equality Act, a bill the Democrats passed through the House in May (so far, it's going nowhere in the Senate.)

It's OK to be a trans-activist and say, "Now this goes too far. There is no way I can support this."

What is at debate here has nothing to do with public spaces, sports or any of that. This is a very specific situation where a trans woman is trying to use the power of government to coerce unwilling women to handle male genitalia.

I don't know how anyone can justify this, but it will be interesting to see who chimes in...

Yep. This is the part of that slippery slope we were lectured would never happen.

Here's a more detailed account.

This person is a pervert and a predator.

Some days he's a man and others he's a trans woman, depending on which gender identity works best at the time.

Again, this is the very thing we were told would never happen.

I really hope Snoofy or Mohr weigh in. Not to throw this in their faces but to get their honest opinion about this Yavik character and what he's trying to do.

The National Review would never be able to tolerate a headline like "When Second Amendment Activism Empowers Murder."

Both the headline and the ------- rights activist are trolling.

Yavik is a fake trans who has a history of suing for money and stalking teenage girls. Possible mental issues.

You don't think this is trans activism?

#9 | Posted by JeffJ at 2019-07-23 07:52 PM | Reply

I agree, Wildstar.

And when it was pointed out during the shared locker room debates that perverts and predators like Yavik would take advantage of any law mandating people are free to use the facilities that align with the gender they identify with.

The responses were, "It will NEVER happen!" "You're just a transphobic bigot!"

Snoofy dismisses the situation out of hand never to return. Normally, The Snoofer would have two dozen questions... just to get a handle on where everyone is at.

#13 It's a refreshing change, for sure.

The question I have: Is this being dismissed because of who this Yavik guy is? Would someone who could more believably claim to be a trans woman also be dismissed like this?

It will be dismissed until Snoofy can get a child to want to do it.... then this child will be used like many before them in the Lefts march towards equality.

Probably. Isn't that why you're dismissing Yavik's claim of being a woman and instead saying she's a guy, when you wrote that sentence? Or do you one of those Boaz types who does that to all transgender people?

#17 | Posted by snoofy at 2019-07-23 08:36 PM | Reply

I call Mohr "she." I hope that answers your question.

"What I'm wondering is if you think government should force these women beauticians to wax the ------- of a trans woman under the rubric of gender discrimination."

I don't think that. Furthermore, since you brought the beautician's gender into it in it what feels like a superfluous way, I don't think the government shouldn't force male beauticians to do it either.

That's not what happened. There is no law for Yavik to "take advantage" of. Yavik is simply making a discrimination complaint at a human rights tribunal, which anyone can do at any time for any reason.

Trans rights are already protected under the Charter of Rights.

Perverts and predators trying to take advantage of others isn't some recent development.

You know what was an extreme outlier example a few years ago?

Allowing biological men to compete in women's sports because they identify as female.

You know what else was an extreme outlier just a few years ago?

The state mandating that people who possess male genitalia be allowed to access women's locker rooms, rape shelters, prisons, etc.

So, spare me your "extreme outlier" crap.

And I don't blame rape victims. I think Beer-Keg Kavanaugh's and P-grabbing Trump's validated past behavior are disqualifying for the current positions they're in ...

Snoofy was able to determine that Yaniv is a predator/pervert by conducting an internet background check. But Snoofy is unable to tell us how these victims are able to tell the difference in real time when the Yaniv's of this world enter a business and request waxing services be provided.

Snoofy's also not able to discuss any laws that protect the victims as opposed to the laws that protect discrimination of all the Yaniv's out there. Snoofy would have you believe that this situation is such an outlier as to not to warrant any further attention.

Snoofy sleep now. Tomorrow Snoofy pretend this never happened.
