Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Politics is a battle of narratives. During Robert Mueller's five-hour appearance on Capitol Hill, three starkly different story lines emerged. Democrats insisted that Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice and rampant lies. Republicans insisted that Trump was the victim of a vast conspiracy involving a cabal of F.B.I. agents.

FTA:

"Stepping back, the hearings were most remarkable for what they revealed about the state of American politics. Each political party is accusing the other of committing treason. The F.B.I. is being accused of mounting a sham investigation to smear a Presidential candidate. And the President is being accused of attempting to illegally obstruct it. The country is locked in an endlessly escalating political arms race -- often based on conspiracy theories -- that will intensify through 2020."

The nutters have just begun to ratchet up their nuttery.

Another notable quote from the article:

"In a significant gaffe, he answered questions in the morning sessions from the Democrat Ted Lieu and the Republican Ken Buck that suggested he believed that Trump had committed a crime. In the afternoon session, he corrected himself and said that he had not arrived at a conclusion about whether Trump had committed a crime. "

Had that not been a gaffe which Mueller later corrected, it probably would have been the most important quote of the day.

It's an interesting take, coming from the New Yorker, charging that both sides have their own favorite conspiracy theories and seem to be operating from rumors and emotion as opposed to facts. The line of questioning today from both sides seem to bolster that view.

The class warfare Marx identified, rooted in the natural conflict of interest between labor and capitalists, is simple and clear. Every penny capitalists do not pay to a laborers goes directly to their bottom line. This fact drove the offshoring of manufacturing.

Labor is in decline in the USA, but rising in some other countries. Whether conspiracy is he best term for the fact that none of the last 2,000 pieces of legislation were designed to help labor, the end result is clear declining standards of living for the working class, with those losses becoming gains for owners(& stockholders), upper level management, hedge fund managers and trust fund babies.

It makes no difference whether you call it a conspiracy or not. The effect is the same, concentration of wealth.

Tell me about it. On this very site there's a guy who said the whole investigation turned up nothing and was just a partisan effort by the deep state to unfairly go after trump.

What was his name? Sheep something....?

lol. FTA (Report) "If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so"

Feel free to read it as many times as it takes.

Which to you believe, Mueller's in the moment reflexive response or Mueller's clarification of his response? (Hint: It's a trick question, either way Trump is not innocent.)
