Beto O'Rourke has canceled campaign appearances in Iowa, deciding to remain in his hometown of El Paso, Texas, as it grieves a mass shooting rather than participate in what is considered a key campaign opportunity at the Iowa State Fair. At least 22 people were killed at an El Paso Walmart Saturday by a shooter who appeared to be motivated by anti-immigrant anger. The incident -- and another mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, the next day -- have put the issue of gun control at the top of the agenda for Democratic presidential candidates

Not sure how we would know the difference, but there you go. You tables will be clear of Beto standing on them at least in the near future.

I guess the media decided they didn't like him as quickly as they gushed over him at the beginning of the campaign.

Poor Beto.

I said this before, but you weren't here.

Beto confused Democrats' enthusiasm for him to replace Ted Cruz, with a signal to run for president.

He seems like a good guy.

Good luck to him in his future endeavors.

Clown,

Beto didn't confuse anything.

He was always a vapid-nobody.

The MSM anointed him as a God because he posed a serious challenge to a Republican they collectively despised.

It's been amazing to watch his stock fall so rapidly with the MSM when he's competing against other lefty Democrats.

FFS - "Beto-mania" was a MSM theme just a couple of years ago.

Couple years ago, as in 2018. Yes. I agree. Democrats wanted him to win. He got a ton of support from Texas and from the nation.

He thought that support would carry over into the primaries.

Which is unfortunate for him.

Cornyn's running for reelection next year. Might be just the time for O'Rourke to win a Senate seat.

Trump has lit a political fire of his own making by turning his rhetorical fire directly at Hispanics that could burn the GOP's dominance in Texas to the ground. Hispanics in Texas seem primed to turn out in 2020 like never before. Now that real bullets have been aimed at TX Hispanics thanks to Trump and the GOP's do nothing attitude, they just may shoot back this time with their feet and vote both Cornyn and Trump out of office.
