ICE arrested 680 SUSPECTED illegal immigrants. Children were left with no support. Children are going home to empty houses. Some are left in daycares where there is no longer any legal guardian to pick them up.

Why not stay home? It can't be that bad? Can it?

It's sad what these parents put their children through while hiding from the law.

It should be considered an additional crime. I applaud legal immigrants for not doing this to their kids.

What exactly did the parents do?

Provide them with a good home?
Send them to School?
Provide Daycare for them?

Until the stormtroopers came there was no problem.

Even if you believe the parents should be deported it should be done in a humane way. Just showing up and taking the parents away with no thought to the children is very Nazi-ish

- What exactly did the parents do?

Ignored the processes and procedures for legal migration, entered our country illegally, and hid from law enforcement. They may have also ignored court orders, deportation hearings, and final warnings. Immigrant fugitives make everyone around them suffer, including their families, children, and especially legal immigrants, who have to constantly prove that they're here legally.

Their conduct is unlawful, selfish, and dangerous, not only to themselves and their kids, but to LEO as well.

Illegal immigrants have only themselves to blame for the circumstances they've put their kids in.

Enforcing immigration laws does not require stormtroopers taking parents away from their children with no plan for the children. IF we send someone to prison we work to make sure their children are provided for. The same should be done for the AMERICAN CITIZENS these thugs left crying on the streets.

The law could be enforced without being NAZI-ish but this action was extremely NAZI-ish

A number of kids reportedly walked home from school in the afternoon only to be locked out -- their loved ones nowhere in sight. Others were picked up by family friends and acquaintances, some of whom brought the kids to their parents' worksites so the children could wave goodbye to their moms and dads as they were loaded onto buses by federal agents.
Is there no level of malevolence this administration won't foist upon humans gainfully trying to survive? American children coming home to locked houses because their parents were arrested while working to support them. There has to be a better way.

Nearly half arrested in Mississippi immigration raids released
www.stripes.com

...A spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says nearly half of those arrested during the largest immigration raid in a decade in the United States have been released.

In an email Thursday, Bryan Cox said more than 300 of the 680 people arrested Wednesday have been released from custody. He says about 30 were released at the plants and about 270 others were released from the military hangar where they had been brought after the raids to be processed.

He did not say why they were let go except to say those released at the plants had been let go due to "humanitarian factors."

He said they "were placed into proceedings before the federal immigration courts and will have their day in court at a later date."...

You're just in denial now.
Because what I said is an accurate reflection of the Zeitgeist.

"He's not hurting the people he needs to be": a Trump voter says the quiet part out loud www.vox.com

"I voted for him, and he's the one who's doing this," Minton told Mazzei. "I thought he was going to do good things. He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting."

He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.

Think about that line for a second. Roll it over in your head. In essence, Minton is declaring that one aim of the Trump administration is to hurt people -- the right people. Making America great again, in her mind, involves inflicting pain.

This is not an accident. Trump's political victory and continuing appeal depend on a brand of politics that marginalizes and targets groups disliked by his supporters. Trump supporters don't so much love the Republican party as they hate Democrats, a phenomenon political scientists call "negative partisanship." They like Trump not because he sells them on the GOP, but because they believe he'll stick it to the Democrats harder than anyone else.

There were job openings.

The employer looked at the candidates.

The employer decided to give the job to the illegal immigrant.

To me it does not look as if the illegal immigrant is taking the job away from US Citizens, it looks like it is the employer who is actively not giving the job to the US Citizens.

The employer was not forced to select the illegal immigrant over the US Citizen, the employer made the choice of his own free will.

So why don't you give the employer grief for giving away the job?

In one statement he pretends that a large number of murders are not happening in ghettos, then claims a "hugely disparate impact on poor communities of color".

Snoozy is trying to spread the problem out, but he can't. The majority of gun violence takes place in Democrat run ghettos, cities, and dense urban areas. Mass shooters are more suburban.

"Exactly what Democrats--DNC Dan, Danni, et al. on this blog have been calling for."

Total lie, you dishonest sack of schitt.

But it's telling: you don't believe you can make your case with the truth.

The majority of gun violence takes place in Democrat run ghettos, cities, and dense urban areas. Mass shooters are more suburban.

Well, no. If a mass shooter is someone that shoots 3+ people, then most mass shootings are done by black dudes with handguns in urban drug hot spots.

Stupid. It should be against the law to incarcerate, even arrest, anyone that has children as the children are then put in danger.
Anything law enforcement does, the courts, etc. should have to consider the children.
Let the parents continue go to work, pay bills, take care of their children.

Damn inhumane policies are harming the children. Stop taking their parents away from them. Don't you realize the harm these children are experiencing? It's best that their role model parents are there to raise them.

Lamplighter: Montana
With a firearm death rate of 22.5 and 244 firearm-related deaths in the state in 2017, Montana had the third-highest firearm death rate of the 50 US states.

Since you threw out the numbers, what's the breakdown of the deaths by suicide, intentional use, unintentional use, self-defense use, etc.?

everyone has their own opinion about what was done.
but just strictly from a public relations POV ,as a political strategy, this is either incredibly stupid or a testing of the water to see if they can ramp things up or back off a bit.
i'm betting he's all in and it will get steadily worse

Surely these stories are also heard in Mexico and the Honduras, but parents still schlep their kids hundreds of miles to subject them to this. But they get no blame? If I heard these stories about a place as evil as this, I sure wouldn't take my kids there. But then again, I'm a good parent.

Based on the success of Drew House, the Brooklyn DA is now launching Justice Home, which will give convicted female felons the right to serve their sentence in their own residence while retaining custody of their children.

It's also cost effective. According to Housing Plus Solutions, $34,000 is spent annually to house a mother and two children at Drew House; the Justice Home program will cost even less, $10,000 annually, compared with $129,000 for incarceration and foster care.

It's 100% testing the waters. Trump never backs down, never admits defeat. It's our fault that we keep expecting there to be a limit and that things will go back to normal after people grumble on social media following some ridiculous statement of his or something he's authorized.

That is the republican plan. They want to make America such a nasty place that rape gangs in Guatemala seem like a better choice

#94 - Trump said that this morning about the raids in MS. How successful they were for just that reason.

US Citizens. Odds are there was no restriction when your grandparents of great grandparents arrived. You are every bit as much an anchor baby as these people.

The only reason there is such a thing as illegal immigration is that conservatives got scared of scary new people and applied arbitrary baseless quotas to chinese, catholics, jews, irish, Italians, and other groups as each wave of immigrants was comprised of different people.

If they are not a criminal or disease carrier they should have a legal way in like we did before the conservatives got scared

The thing Trump doesn't get things that MIGHT happen to them in the USA are no deterrent against the things that WILL happen if they stay where they are

Identity politics. He's emulating Democrats who endlessly peddle identity politics.
I agree it's disgusting - All of it.
Identity politics suck no matter who is doing it.

Nice to see you can recognize the Cons are peddling identity politics. Unfortunately, you can't yet hold them responsible for their actions. Fail.
