Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has sued the Trump administration for what he calls his "unlawful" termination, arguing that his firing last year was the result of improper political interference by the president. "It was Trump's unconstitutional plan and scheme to discredit and remove DOJ and FBI employees who were deemed to be his partisan opponents because they were not politically loyal to him," the complaint alleges.

I think we had a thread on this one already a day or two ago.

But to repeat, he would probably win his lawsuit, but he was doing it on a company (FBI) phone and at work. That's what's going to lose it for him.

Actually, you're thinking of FBI agent Peter Strzok's lawsuit launched 2 days ago. This is a separate suit.

But I can't believe they aren't 1) coordinated and 2) trying to get ahead of the IG report.

Of course they're likely coordinated.

Because they were both likely fired for improper political reasons.

The IG report included a criminal referral for McCabe.

But is that what he was fired for?

Now that I think about it wasn't he the one who was busted for lying to investigators over leaked info?

If memory serves, yes, that is what he was fired for.

As for Strzok...I don't know why he was fired (he's suing too).

While I am not sure if Strzok's suit was meant to get ahead of Durham's report, I think this one probably was.

That being said, what Trump did to McCabe in firing him 10 hours before his retirement was incredibly small minded and shtty.

Aren't the democrats showering McCabe with retirement money and couch jobs?

Who's paying his lawyer? Who's paying Strzok's lawyer?

McCabe was fired for 'lack of candor' - basically, he lied to the FBI. Had this not been a person from the FBI, they would be in jail today for lying. Comey did the same thing. The FBI IG already documented all of this. I think Barr is going to end up putting all these guys in prison.
