David Frum: Grinning and flashing a thumbs-up over an orphaned baby? Yes, still president. Tweeting that a third-tier dictator has threatened him with more missile tests unless he halts military exercises with a U.S. ally -- -- and that he has surrendered to that blackmail? Shamefully, still president. Accusing a former U.S. president of murder? It's incredible, it's appalling, it's humiliating ... but, yes, he is the president all the same.

Per the article ...

By now, Trump's party in Congress, the members of his Cabinet, and even his White House entourage all tacitly agree that Trump's occupancy of the office held by Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and Eisenhower must be a bizarre cosmic joke, not to be taken seriously.

But cosmic joke or no cosmic joke, Donald Trump is the president of the United States.

You may not like it. I don't like it. Mike Pompeo doesn't like it. Mitch McConnell doesn't like it. Kevin McCarthy doesn't like it.

But it's still a fact, and each succeeding outrage makes it no less a fact.

Trump's bacon strips (not the food kind, the underwear kind) have irreparably stained America's reputation for the rest of our lifetimes.

Infuriatedly sad.

Glad I didnt vote for him.

The second Trump is out as president, America needs to don a biohazard hazmat suit and bleach cleanse everything Trump has touched.

The worthless never-trumper David Frum has never gotten over Trump winning "his" party's nomination and relegating the good old boy club of the GOP establishment and their mouthpieces like him, Bill Kristol, Georgetown Will, etc., to the sidelines.

In your opinion, which is a worse embarrassment to America ...

1. Dubya's 8-years of constant out loud, non-thinking, mouth-full-of-marbles malapropisms?

2. Trump's retrograde ability to plumb depths lower than previously established lowest-common-denominator standards?

Me, I choose #2 -- what say you?

What was the original headline? I used to document the original headlines in the first post, but I couldn't keep up with it and it was interfering with my ability to search through my posting history for meaningful threads that I had participated in.

Rcade (or someone here) must think it's worth the time to wipe the OP's ass every day. Except for the times when they just push its threads to front page as is.

I agree with Frum's opinion of the orange sloth. But, face facts, EVERY US President has ordered the unnecessary murder of innocent people around the world, in order to control other nation's domestic agendas.

That's an oxy moron. If someone is a never trumper, then they therefore have worth. They are right about at least one thing.

Someone like you on the other hand who spends all their time and effort defending trump because you want to see the whole world suffer because your life turned out terribly... pretty worthless.

#14 | Posted by Tor

We've never survived one of our major political parties openly embracing fascism, conspiracy theory, stupidity, and white supremacy

This is a first.

And morons like biden who think everything will go back to normal after trump are simply proving that they dont understand what has happened and therefore are the wrong person to offer any solutions. Get off the stage if you think ousting trump will fix this crap. Shutting fox news down would do more to heal america than getting rid of trump, and that's not going to happen. This was a long time coming with decades of republican propaganda sewing the seeds of stupidity and hate, and it finally culminated in the morons gaining enough power to elect a moron monster president. Getting rid of trump does nothing to prevent that from happening again. Electing a progressive populist who starts improving peoples lives so they're not desperate and angry all the time is the only way to save the country at this point.

The record low unepmployment?

Considering it was at about 4.5% when he entered office that's a shallow talking point only meant to convince the idiots and suckers.

#19 -- nonetheless, it is still the lowest in half a century no matter how manyh "ifs" or "but" you wish to attach to it. ALso, unemployment follows bell curve rules meaning the further you get from the top of the curve, the harder it is to chqnge sigma.

Hey Goatman,

While America does indeed have record low unemployment, the jobs people do have today don't pay well, according to wage statistics and inflation, as they did back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

And the reason for that is the slow corporate capture of practically all levers of the federal government to repeatedly ensure business friendly policies were enacted over the last 40 years.

In fact, lucky for you, there's an AWESOME book titled 'Who Stole The American Dream?', written by a really old dude who has done it all and seen it all -- his name is Hedrick Smith.

Here you go, my man ...

There are crazies and morons everywhere. Just in a much higher concentration among trump supporters.

People who dont care what tone the president sets for the country are people too stupid to see why it matters. Obviously that includes you.

#21 I'm aware. But if you look at multiple metrics over time they've all followed the same trajectory they've been on since before Trump was elected.

All they did was juice the economy for a few moths to extract some more cash and give them some point in time to point to as theirs.

The unemployment numbers are goosed daily by the fact many Americans have to work two and even three of those "good-paying jobs" to cover their monthly bills. Veterans are only a photo-op for the Fourth Estate, and once they're separated, and out of the US Military's clutches, they're on their own.
