Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

National Geographic has a fascinating story where a bottlenose dolphin adopted a baby of a different species, a melon-head whale, back in 2014 and is still caring for it today. The whale lives with a pod of 30 dolphins that frequent French-Polynesian waters.

The little dolphin will probably grow up to be a rapist, or a suicide bomber.

An orphan? It's time for another photo op with Melanoma and the orange lard barge.

A lioness that had just lost it's cub did the same thing but the orphan was a prey animal.

She mothered it for 6 weeks before a male lion snatched it up.

Male lions kill male lion cubs if they aren't from their pride.

That's true of all male cats when they oust a rival from it's female(s).

#7 True, Jeff. Many years ago we had a calico who had a litter of kittens. When they were about a week old, I went out to the garage to see a tomcat gnawing on them.,

Will that whale be forever alone, or will they try to pair up with a dolphin?

Do the dolphins see it as just a thicc dolphin?

Maybe it has a great personality and is great company.

Humans have adopted more animals from a different species than any other species, I'll bet.

That's a fact. Our latest adoptee was about 4 months old when he showed up at our door on a hot August day last year. We've never had a cat before. He and our three (also adopted) dogs play and sleep together.
