Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Coral Nichols will be eligible to vote when she's 190. That's assuming the 40-year-old Floridian -- who served five years in prison for fraud and embezzlement, followed by nearly 10 years on probation -- is able to keep up with her $100 monthly restitution payments.

Why should wannabe trumps ever get to vote again?

Republicans cheat (and lie), it's the only way for them to win.

Also, I'm sure Putin is already working overtime to help his personal -------- in the White House on how to exploit this.

Perhaps for the same reason that democrats are so pro-illegal immigration: It enhances their chances of winning elections.

#3 | Posted by goatman at 2019-08-11 09:26 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Politics and DNA are very similar. Life exists for only on e reason, and that is to ensure DNA gets passed on so that it may replicate yet one more generation

Politicians, like life, exist for only one reason. And that is to ensure that their party lives for another generation.

Neither DNA, nor the politician care by what means it propogates. All that is important is the propogation. DNA mutatations, if beneficial, help that complex molecule live another generation. Changes in politician's platforms ensure their party lives one more generation (election cycle)

It's as simple as that.

Except for one thing. We don't live in a petri dish.

BTW, Democrats are not pro-illegal immigration. We're pro-immigration, period. Which has been the genesis of America since the git-go. (With certain controls consistent with the growth of the country as a whole).

Democrats don't prescribe to the Republican theory of "I've got mine so the hell with you."

I can't speak for either, but I proscribe to the theory that there is a legal way to get into the country and laws should be obeyed. What a slap in the face it is to the hard working immigrant who studies, takes the tests, learns the laws and government (IOW, do it legallay) when they see someone simply sading a river.

Why are democrats encourage the lawbreakers. Dno't say they don't. I need go no further than the DR to show you many who do and I can take you by the hand to doznns of left wing blogs full of people thinking immigration laws don't matter

"Why Are Republicans So Afraid of People Voting?

Why would anybody even ask "Why" when the answer is so obvious.

It's not just "people" voting ~ it's people who don't fit the Republican profile of white and Arian.

Does that ring any bells?

Bad examples.

The DR isn't a micrometer of anything nor are any propaganda sites that have ulterior motives for their publications.

The bain of their existence is weak minds.

#8 | Posted by Twinpac at 2019-08-11 11:27 PM | Reply

Twinpac, it wasn't my intention to give examples. In a nutshell my position can be boiled down to a few words. People should be expected to obey our laws when they are in our country.

It's that simple. Why anyone would not agree with that and encouraged lawlessness is beyond me, except as I said they would want more voters for their party

#9 | Posted by goatman at 2019-08-11 11:34 PM | Reply

"Why are democrats encourage the lawbreakers."

We don't encourage lawbreakers. We combine the law with compassion and empathy when dire circumstances necessitate.

Torturing brown children to teach brown parents a lesson belongs to despotic insecure wanna-be dictators.

BTW ~ I hear Trump wants to imprison all people who have beards because people with beards are hiding their identity and therefore must be spies.

#10 you can sugarcoat your words as you want twinpac, but there are people crossing the southern border illegally. It doesn't matter if you combine compassion with it or not it's against the law. You're either for the law or you are not and it sounds like you are not. At least on it and don't hide behind words.

" People should be expected to obey our laws when they are in our country. "

Indeed! I agree.

The same should apply to people who are born in this country. The wealthy and entitled included, wouldn't you say? That doesn't always work out either, does it?

Our prisons are NOT full of immigrants are they? They're bulging with U.S. citizens who break the law. Where do you suggest we deport them? Or is breaking the law one of the ingrained rights of a U.S. citizen?

My point is, a certain percentage of any population is going to break the law. Red, black, white, yellow or mixed. You name it.

It just so happens that immigrants are far down the list scoff-laws. Statistics are available if you'd care to broaden your reading material.

#15 | Posted by Twinpac at 2019-08-11 11:57 PM | Reply

My #10 wasn't fake news. It was a 'just suppose.' It was something I made up to see how far you'd go to falsely vilify a segment of the population without evidence?

How many people with beards are spies?
How many immigrants are law-breaker?

Interesting that you took it seriously. You're supposed to be smarter than that.

Legal immigration is lawful, necessary, and provides protections for all involved. It's compassionate, empathetic, and supports those in need.

There are plenty of legal immigrants to fill the jobs of law breakers, identity thieves, and fugitives.

I support legal immigration and an end to slave wages and human trafficking.

God you're dumber than a pet rock. Georgia lost their asses when they pushed out Undocumented immigrants. This is a capitalist nation. Have your mommy and daddy explain it to you.

You're #7 in the top ten.

That means you don't have very many viewers either. From the flags I see it's a good thing you and SHEEPLE have each other. Of course, that's not saying much either.

Republicans lose elections when people turn out to vote. It isn't any more complicated than that.

#23 | Posted by JOE at 2019-08-12 01:20 AM | Reply

Republicans can't win elections without a little 'built in" insurance.

That how we ended up with a white supremist "president" (and I use that word lightly) who lies 24/7, explodes the national debt, alienates our allies, hob-nobs with sponsors of terrorism and brutal dictators, stacks his cabinet with inexperienced sycophants, ignores legitimate intelligence, disavows science, blocks gun control legislation, tortures children locked in cages, hands out top security clearance to his family members, engages in emoluments, hides his tax returns, fires anybody who speaks truth to power, hires an Attorney General to run interference, plots real estate deals in secret with Russia and Saudi Arabia, thinks people who parade with a Nazi flag are "good people," stirs up hate crimes among his rabid base, feeds his ego with boasting untruths, turns the U.S. Treasury into a personal cash register, bullies and threatens adversaries to the point of war, breaks the back of farmers with tariffs, wipes out nuclear proliferation agreements, wipes out climate control treaties, vows to destroy Obamacare along with coverage of pre-existing conditions, and is so consumed with hatred and vengeance for America's first black president that it amounts to insanity.

And all that is just for openers.

Now, somebody point out what I just said isn't true.

#24 | Posted by Twinpac at 2019-08-12 05:06 AM | Reply

The Drudge Retort Left should start an Amusement Park where the only activity is boxing strawmen! Y'all seem to get such great joy out of knocking down strawmen.

(1) You're setting yourself up for failure if you think the GOP has to cheat to win. Repent, look at some poli sci studies and act like grown up or life is only going to get worse for you when the GOP wins again.

(2). What if the GOP wanted integrity in the voter rolls and not racism?
One could argue from the data that that is the case.

I don't personally know ANY Republicans that would cheat to get get darker skinned people off the voter rolls (or that would cheat for any discernible reason), but know LOTS who get pissed at lawlessness.

Trump doesn't control the budget. That's the purview of Congress started in the House. He signed the bill, however.
What gun control legislation are you referring to that Trump has blocked? I'm going to go with you being wrong until you give some evidence on that one.
He never claimed that people parading with the Nazi flag are "good people".
Trump did not wipe out a single climate change treaty, much less multiple.

You're welcome.

Your turn: Why do you feel the need to lie to make a point?

The legal way requires them to present themselves on American soil and apply for asylum. Not 1 of the people being detained at the border have broken any law. They are awaiting hearings. Only if their petition for asylum is denied and they somehow avoid being deported from the detention centers would they be in violation of ANY law.

Why end sunday voting? Tell us how that is "fighting lawlessness" when all it does is eliminate souls to the polls which means less black people voting.

Why end evening and weekend early voting? Tell us how making it impossible for some working class people to vote is "fighting lawlessness" when all it does is prevent the poorest workers who don't have PTO and might get fired if they miss so much as an hour of work from voting?

Why provide fewer voting machines and close public restrooms in heavily black districts? how is that " fighting lawlessness"?
