The Trump administration has reauthorized the use of "cyanide bombs" to kill wild animals. Here's how they work: When an animal stumbles across one of the devices, a capsule containing sodium cyanide, a highly toxic pesticide, is ejected into its mouth. And then scavenger animals eat the carcass, thus spreading the poison. When they die, other animals eat their carcasses, spreading it further. Then, it ends up in the ground through decay and rain, and plants grow, which feed animals that continue spreading it.
