Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, August 15, 2019

We've made a change to address the problem some users are experiencing where they can't visit https://www.drudge.com but they can visit https://drudge.com. Both should work correctly in all current browsers, but the fix implemented at 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday may take 8-12 hours to take full effect. Please use this discussion to report whether you're still having any problems reaching the site.

a few minutes ago my anti-virus gave me several "unsafe" reoutes away from your site. Then they ended. Were you poking your nose into my PC, rcade?

Access issue resolved but still cannot login with Firefox.

I have no problem with Firefox, TODAY. Yesterday I couldn't get in but this morning I tried entering the address directly and that's when I discovered that it would only work if I left off the 'www'.

The only issue I have is that the new site doesn't keep me logged in. I have to do it each time.

#19 | Posted by TFDNihilist at 2019-08-16 08:15 AM | Reply

Thank you, I logged in just fine. Keeping me logged in would be nice but not a big deal for me.

The next problem to address is the auto-login.

If you are using firefox, try this

go to about:config, scroll down to network.trr.mode and change the value to 2. What it does is automatically look for https

about:config is where you tweak firefox's settings.

If he adds "puling" to his posting vocabulary, we'll have Tadowe v.2

OK... It's working now on my Telikin... it uses custom Unix shell of some sort and Chrome for browser...

Don't laugh... the interface is actually laid out very nicely... everything is hidden from the user but it all works pretty slick... almost a true Internet appliance.

Use it as a streaming video TV with occasional detours to the DR...

Plus it has a pretty neat touch screen. I can pause the stream by tossing a pepperoni across the room.

Another curiosity trying to login with Firefox. Attempted to post a comment, filled in the username and password manually, hit preview comment and the system logged in and the comment in preview appeared normal. Hit post comment and the system logged me out and told me I needed to sign in.

Tried the fix at #24 with no apparent affect.

Well then, try this. Smart HTTPS extension in firefox.

Smart HTTPS addon helps you always use the secure HTTPS protocol, if supported by the server. It automatically changes HTTP protocol to the secure HTTPS, and if loading encounters error, reverts it back to HTTP protocol. There are also several options to adjust the performance according to your need (read below).

Please go back to allow for anonymous posting. To much gang stalking here anymore to allow for true debate and discourse. Censorship is antithetical to being american but it seems that is were americans feel comfortable. I still agree with sifting out the naughty words though. "Quasi censorship"? Its your site and these are my opinions and i thank you for providing this place all these years

I've been having a similar problem, though for longer.

Oftentimes when I sign in on a page where I'm making a post, it'll tell me I have to 'hit the back button' and put my password in again

The only "problem" I'm still having is the autofill username log in never works the first time. I must do it twice every time. Not much of a problem.

#37 | Posted by nimbleswitch at 2019-08-17 11:13 AM | Reply

I sill have the same problem with the autofill username/password log-in.

It works with Chrome but not my default Edge.

Save password doesn't work either.
