Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Like a band who's time has come and gone, going from playing full stadiums under the brightest lights to struggling as the opening act at the local amusement park before an audience of two, Rep. Steve King (IA-04) held the saddest town hall of all time.

Rep. Steve King says media, GOP leaders owe him an apology after his comments on rape and ------
www.washingtonpost.com

...Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is demanding an apology from the media and Republican leaders after he remarked last week that humanity might not exist if not for rape and ------....

Taking a page out of the Trump media-bashing handbook, Rep King accuses the media for misquoting him when they not only quote him directly and correctly for the comment in question, but also provide the video of him saying what he said.

@#4 ... just consiider why AOC won with very few votes. ...

At least she won the popular vote in her district...

ballotpedia.org

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D), 78.2%, 110,318 votes

Anthony Pappas (R), 13.6%, 19,202 votes

Joseph Crowley, 6.6%, 9,348 votes

...

On the other hand, I'd hardly say that winning over 78% of the votes is a "very few votes," doncha think?

just consiider why AOC won with very few votes.

Well, it's because the other guy thought it was in the bag and only phoned it in... being lazy costed him the election.

Doesn't matter AOC is on her way out...

Number of folks already running against her... showing the public there what a sad joke AOC and the Democrats have become.

Too bad too... for a brief moment she had a chance to make at least one or two small changes.... but she succumbed to the Democrat madness and became just another Washington Cartoon Character.

Kinda like Velma Dinkly from Scooby-Doo, but with a title...

@#14 ... it's because the other guy thought it was in the bag and only phoned it in... ...

So you admit she won by more than "a ver few votes", a lot more.

... Doesn't matter AOC is on her way out... ...

You know that, how? Are you in her district?

Problem with being a trump supporter is you can't credibly accuse others of "madness" or being "cartoon characters".

If you want to use these attacks, you'll have to quit your cult first.

True.

However, the article you cite is a nationwide poll, not one from her district. Do you think Rep Ocasio-Cortez is running for a national office?

btw, a lot of polling from her district show her approval numbers low, but be careful to make sure you also look at margin of error. Also if the poll does not give a margin of error and methodology, I look at it suspiciously.

I still do not understand how Rep Ocasio-Cortez got into, and set up shop, in the minds of so many Republicans, and why they spend so much time talking about her.

I think Biden only had 30

Warren only had about 700 inside and 300 outside

Trump 11,500 and reports say 8,000-9,000 outside. Broke Elton John's Arena Record

His crowds are consistently exaggerated.

Besides, they're mostly staged productions so I'm betting a considerable % of those on the inside are paid, bused in "supporters".

I'm not playing that ------- game with you. Do something like look for yourself. I wouldn't have said so if I didn't have the facts on my side. Trump has paid and/or financially compelled people to attend his events.

If I did post the info and links, you'd just come back with some obfuscating, argumentative bullschitt.

Get a dog. You need companionship. Your game is ------- old.

It's called "astroturfing" and has been going on forever (although Sen. Lloyd Bentsen is credited for the name), and candidates and their PACs on both sides of the aisle have been accused of doing it, most recently with Trump and his campaign announcement and early rallies and Hillary in 2007 against Obama and her Correct the Record PAC against Sanders supporters in the 2016 primaries.

Almost every campaign has a Marketing Director that has the companies that do this on speedial (DCI Group and Bonner & Associates come to mind) and their services range from filling seats to doing online "grass-roots" organization to make their clients look like they have more support than they do (or their opponents look like they have less).
