Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Jewish people in the U.S. who vote for members of the Democratic Party are not loyal. "I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty." ... "If this is about Israel, then Trump is repeating a dual loyalty claim, which is a form of anti-Semitism," said Halie Soifer, executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, in a statement to HuffPost. "If this is about Jews being loyal' to him, then Trump needs a reality check. We live in a democracy, and Jewish support for the Republican Party has been halved in the past four years."

The Great Uniter belches again!

According to the Pew Research Center, about 79% of Jewish voters in America voted Democrat in the 2018 midterm elections.

Emily Mayer, a spokesperson with progressive Jewish organization IfNotNow, said that Trump's remarks are "an explicit dual loyalty charge" that is "a bullhorn to his white nationalist base."

Aaron Keyak, former head of the National Jewish Democratic Council, said Tuesday that Trump's comments are "dangerous, reckless, and wrong."

"Jews have had a long history of being in countries where we are accused of being disloyal," he said in a statement. "Just because President Trump is deeply unpopular in our community is no reason to slander us with echos of some of the most insidious attacks against our people. We've seen where this road has led before."

Trump thinks it leads to his reelection. Guess we'll find out in another 14 or so months.

Nothing to see here, just more attempts from Trump to divide the nation.

He's the great divider.

Just what America needed to help it fall.

Per the article ...

The President has suggested that Jewish Americans, who are traditionally staunch supporters of the Democratic Party, are leaving it.

But polling suggests that Jewish Americanscontinue overwhelmingly to be Democrats and opposed to Trump.

Jewish Americans voted for the Democratic Party by about a 3:1 margin in the 2018 midterm elections. And Jewish Americans are far more likely to call themselves Democrats than Republicans.

Trump should ask his white supremacist base what they think of all this.

Meanwhile, Trump and his supporters constantly accuse numerous Democrats of being anti-Semitic.

In recent years, Kristol's ideological progeny, led by Commentary magazine and other neoconservative outlets (as well as Netanyahu and his government), have tried very hard to link criticism of Israel, which has come mostly from the left, with anti-Semitism.

The results are also hard to square with the notion that criticism of Israel by people on the left of the political spectrum is often rooted in anti-Semitism. If, after all, so many Democrats see anti-Semitism as a "very serious problem," their views of Israel are unlikely to be tainted by prejudice against Jews.
Of course, it should be clear to virtually any informed individual"and especially to U.S. Jews"that anti-Semitism on the right (or the alt-right) poses the greater threat by far.

No. You don't. You just have to pay attention to the shrieks of antisemitism every time Democrats speak out against Israel or AIPAC.

Like with Tlaib. Or Omar.

You know. The two women you confused for one another and accused of anti semitism, because you were told they were being anti semitic.

Why do diaspora Jews (e.g., in USA and Europe) promote multiculturalism, diversity, mass immigration, etc., so much in goy countries, yet resist the same for Isntreal? One standard would be just fine; egregious double-standards are the source of a lot of this suspicion.

WTG, Trump. You've just disenfranchised even more American Jews, who view your comments as anti-Semitic.

Jewish leaders outraged by Trump saying Jews disloyal if they vote for Democrats

Halie Soifer, executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, called the comments "yet another example of Donald Trump continuing to weaponize and politicize anti-Semitism."

"It's unclear who @POTUS is claiming Jews would be 'disloyal' to, but charges of disloyalty have long been used to attack Jews. As we've said before, it's possible to engage in the democratic process without these claims. It's long overdue to stop using Jews as a political football," Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted later Tuesday.

Sheldon Adelson and his wife probably clapped, but no one else is.

"President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Jewish people in the U.S. who vote for members of the Democratic Party are not loyal."

Loyal to who? Don't Jewish Americans owe they allegiance to the U.S.A. like the rest of us. I'm quite sure they do. They never pledged allegiance to Netanyahoo or the Zionist Orthodox Jews who are occupying the West Bank. Those people don't deserve the allegiance of anyone and many or even most Jews in Israel don't give them allegiance.

I knew the day would come when Jews would become targets of Trump and his cabal, but didn't think it would come so soon. Wealthy, educated Jews will soon be in the crosshairs (literally) of Trump-inspired racists and bigots. Their political connections, education and knowledge of the law will not help them much. Trump once asked African-Americans to vote for him, stating "What have you got to lose?" When posed to Jewish Americans, that question now becomes a threat...

What an offensive declaration for the POTUS to make. As if the first loyalty of American Jews is to Israel, not the USA. And by implication, if you support a Democrat you are disloyal to Israel.

Our POTUS is a POS.

NYPD Says Anti-Semitic Hate Crimes Up Staggering 82 Percent
newyork.cbslocal.com

...The NYPD has offered an update on crime throughout the city for the first quarter of 2019.

The report shows a disturbing trend, CBSN New York's Marcia Kramer reported.

Thursday is Yom Hashoah the day Jews remember the 6 million killed in the holocaust and it comes as the Police Department is reporting a dramatic rise in hate crimes, the hike fueled by anti-Semitism.

According to police, hate crimes were up 67 percent in the first quarter of the year, January through April. There were 145 incidents, compared to 87 in the first four months of 2018. Of those, 82 of the 2019 incidents were anti-Semitic, an 82 percent increase....

Then he engages in it.

Why anyone believes a word that comes out of his mouth - after all the evidence he and the truth have a bad relationship - is puzzling.

AIPAC doesn't technically give money to politicians (though many of its members do) and that errant conflation by one person has been sufficient to sustain a months-long campaign of calling the entire DNC anti-semitic. Yet these blatant claims by Trump that American Jews are stupid or disloyal is...nothing?
