FTA:

"While our counterattacks are reducing the number of annual casualties she perpetrates, the mosquito remains the deadliest hunter of human beings on the planet. Last year she slaughtered only 830,000 people. We sensible and wise ---- sapiens occupied the runner-up #2 spot, slaying 580,000 of our own species."

And guns only a small fraction as deadly as either.

I had heard before that Mosquitoes are the deadliest animals on earth. You ask someone and they'll say something like bears or even snakes or spiders. Bur none come close

It's not the mosquito that are deadly, though.
It's the parasites and pathogens they carry.
It's not like people are dying from a mosquito bite from a clean mosquito.

Bingo! This one goes into my archives for presentation next time some idiot says it's the gun, not the person that does the killing.

A distinction without out a difference ... for instance, tobacco isn't deadly ... people smoking it is....

Sounds good.
For completeness, you should archive your explanation of why "We are at war with the mosquito" when it's not mosquitoes that are doing the killing.

I'm sure the several dozen chemicals it's sprayed with don't help...

I forgot the actual number, but I recall reading once how many people have died from mosquito-borne disease in Africa since the US prohibited use (and thus export) of DDT, but it was in the 10s of millions from malaria alone. Silent spring indeed.

In Bayou Lafouche, La they stand flat footed and capable of raping a German Shepherd.

On the real, mosquitos are responsible for more deaths than anything else on earth. I challenge anyone to prove otherwise.if they don't cause it, they carry it and deliver it.

I've watched a National Geographic on the caribou of Alaska.

There are lakes in Alaska that are literally covered in mosquitoes.

As the caribou arrive to drink. The swarms attack them. They literally showed a caribou drop dead from the sheer volume of mosquitoes draining its blood.

It was horrific.

Meanwhile. If you go out at night. You'll wish you died from the amount of mosquitoes across the valley currently.
