Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, August 29, 2019

www.mediaite.com Trump is using the logo and motto of a white Supremacist group as his new campaign logo. The inspiration for their name and logo comes from that time Trump retweeted the following Benito Mussolini quote "It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep."

"I don't talk to ---- Jews," Dye told the New Jersey Globe during a very brief telephone interview. "Get the f--k out of here."

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? What seems clear from this article is that White Supremacist recognized Trump as one of their own from the get-go:

Donald Trump Gains Overtly Fascist Lion Guard Militia

A Warning To All Anti-Trump Protesters: The Lion Guard Is Watching You And Is Likely To Become Violent

Mar 15, 2016

I had no idea that, within a couple of weeks after the release of the book, Donald Trump would invite America's top white supremacist radio show host to interview his son, that the American Nazi Party would endorse Trump for President, or that Trump supporters would begin to pose for cameras while giving the Nazi salute and shouting things like "Go to Auschwitz!", leading to violence in the streets around Trump rallies. It's all happened so quickly ...

... and now this. On Monday, March 15, a group calling itself the Lion Guard has launched a web site, seeking to organize supporters of Donald Trump into a militia to counter protests at Trump rallies. The group claims to be "dedicated to the safety and security of Trump supporters," but has also declared itself willing to use violence, "willing to forcefully protect" Donald Trump from people it perceives to be threats.

The logo has been printed on t-shirts, phone cases, bumper-stickers and notebooks since 2016, when Lion Guard formed in response to protests at Trump campaign events. Much like "Bikers for Trump," Lion Guard sees themselves as an "informal civilian group dedicated to the safety and security of #Trump supporters by exposing far-Left rioters," according to their website. Their motto " "Better to be a lion for a day, than a lamb for eternity" " is a direct reference to a famous radio broadcast by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Trump, quoting a Twitter user called "ilduce2016," also shared a similar version of that quote in Feb. 2016.

"The dissemination of the Lion Guard logo, integrated at the end of the video Trump tweeted out, is disturbing but also indicative of the normalization of a modern fascism in the United States," said Jean Dean Valencia-Garca, assistant professor of digital history at Texas State University and an expert in modern neo-fascist movements.

Online sleuths used Tin-Eye, a reverse image search engine, to figure out the first time that the image was shared on the internet. A similar VICE News search confirmed that the logo was first used by a Dutch white supremacist on twitter in March 2016. (The tweet has since been deleted.) Trump was widely criticized for retweeting that same Dutch white supremacist a year earlier, whose bio at that time read "#KekSec/Stop #WhiteGenocide/White Preservist/Programmer/Dutch Patriot/Race War when?"

Vice

But yeah, it's just a bizarre coincidence that Trump keeps repeating racist, fascist propaganda.

The New Jersey Globe[edit]
In 2018, Wildstein founded a New Jersey political reporting site called The New Jersey Globe. [33]

en.wikipedia.org

Guilty plea and cooperation with federal prosecutors[edit]
Wildstein pleaded guilty in federal district court in Newark, New Jersey to two felony counts of conspiracy"one count of conspiracy to misapply property of the Port Authority and one count of conspiracy to violate the civil rights of Fort Lee residents in the September 2013 lane closings"as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

In 2000, while still working at the family business, Wildstein secretly founded a New Jersey political news site called PoliticsNJ.com (since renamed PolitickerNJ.com),[12] which he ran with the financial support of his friend New Jersey real estate mogul Jared Kushner, who publishes the New York Observer.

That is an incredibly poor argument.

I could, in about 15 minutes, create a website that says Illegitimate President Bucket of ---- sacrifices children to the full moon. I could post a link here and using YOUR argument that would be an unassailable source.

So one must evaluate the source of a story. Most legitimate news sources attempt to remove bias from their reporting (as opposed to editorials) or in this case reporting of facts. Conservapedia is representing itself as a source of facts. But when a source proudly proclaims it's bias and ignores IPBoS and Racism while having a page of Clinton and Racism shows, clearly that they have bias (again not in editorial but in presentation of facts). So what is one to make of a source that encompasses bias in their reporting of facts? That they would either ignore or lie about facts.

BTW this is something reputable news sources wrestle with all the time.

This is all pretty basic stuff.

Really... that's the best you got?

""I know they all look alike," Clinton joked, though it isn't clear if she meant to mock Swisher or just crack a one-liner."

She was mocking the interviewer for mixing up two black people. That wasn't an insult aimed at black people. It was aimed at the interviewer. And was a dig at the trope itself.

I also started going through your original sources.

It starts with Orval Faubus. APPARENTLY, in your mind, Bill Clinton is racist because he ASSOCIATED with Faubus (who was pro-segregation)? Just associating with a racist makes you a racist?

Next we move to "The New Jim Crow". We start with a reference to the Superpredator law. Hillary has apologized for that and said it was wrong. Moving on, I am trying to follow the links where Hillary's "decisiveness and hate is targeted at a diverse group of people" and where she "has publicly advocated treating minority youth like dogs" gives me unavailable youtube links. It doesn't even have a link for "has made mocking and offensive comments about Jews and retarded children", and then has another video link (to fox news) about her "deplorable" comments (Goat... please explain how the "deplorable" comment is racist). And then says "Her declining health and criminal investigation became an issue in her 2016 presidential campaign." Is her declining health racist? Was the "criminal investigation" related to racism? Again, more youtube videos as citations for these (I cannot watch videos during the day, and think they are a terrible way of providing a citation in a wiki).

Goat... I am not going to wade any more through your rambling and poorly sourced site that you use to support your claim. I have livestock to take care of at home. I don't need to wade through BS on the internet as well. If you think there is something useful in there you are going to have to point to it specifically. If you think it is all valid, you can start by addressing each of my criticisms listed above (find actual sources for the broken links, maybe even find sources that aren't videos of talking heads blathering on to fill up time).

I read through all three of your links. Two of them were about the same thing (intentionally because you were called out on your sources). I have pointed out that incident was not racist. The other sources was just crap, and I notice you have made NO EFFORT to defend it (looks like YAV was correct about your "ass-handing").

Basically, all I see you doing is throwing out links of a thing quoted out of context, and another link that was full of hogwash.

So, not only did you get called out on your crap sources (though that is STS), but also on the crap content in those sources. And I am supposed to just "Deal with it"?

Well, that sure proves she's not a racist. So if a right winger says something racist, then apolgizes, it's OK? Or can only democrats do that?

Sure... depending on how you define "OK". All is forgiven? Maybe not. But by acknowledging past mistakes it gives me reason to believe that you have changed. It means that there is reason to revisit the "racist" label and see whether it no longer applies.

What is the purpose of an apology? Is it just to give people good feelings? No. It is an acknowledgement of a past mistake and a statement of intention to try not to repeat it in the future. If you apologize to me, but keep making the same mistake, the apology is useless. I honestly don't care about mistakes of the past. It has happened and is now gone. The consequences of the mistake have already occurred and cannot be taken back or changed. What I care about what your past mistakes say about how I can EXPECT you to act in the future.

I honestly don't care if you "were" a racist. I care about whether you "are" a racist now. But, the only one who really knows that is you, so I have to go on past behavior to make my determination.

I do not think the article shows racist behavior (I even quoted a part from the newsweek one you posted supporting my claim). She made a joke about a racist trope to needle the interviewer. You may think that is racist. That is your prerogative. But I am pointing out to you that it can be interpreted both ways, and only your bias against Clinton makes you see it as "evidence" that she is racist.

You keep saying I have not read or opend your links. But I posted multiple quotes FROM the links you posted. How do you justify that?

I will point out, that you have not quoted ANYTHING from your own links. So, from an outside perspective, there is much more evidence that I have read your links than that YOU actually have.

"I know there are some polls out there saying this man has a 32% approval rating. But guys like us, we don't pay attention to the polls. We know that polls are just a collection of statistics that reflect what people are thinking in "reality." And reality has a well-known liberal bias."

Goatmam: "Mom! The neighbor down the street said dad isn't actually my dad, and that my dad is actually that creepy orange idiot Donald Trump!"

Goatmam's mom: "Huh? Which neighbor said that, the Pastor from our church or the habitual drunk with paranoid schizophrenia who is a pathological liar?"

Goatmam: "It doesn't matter! Why are you attacking the source and not the content?"

Goatmam's mom: "Umm, Goatmam, brush your tooth and go to bed. And stay out of your sister's room!"
