Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, September 02, 2019

The summer heat may have finally gotten to FOX News this month. Last week, we had the cable news network criticize people on the San Francisco streets shooting up marijuana. But now Tucker Carlson wants you to consider a correlation between the increase in mass shootings and increased access to marijuana across the country.

"When Carlson heard that connection, he took it and ran with it.

"I don't think it's going way out on a limb to draw that connection then between cannabis use, particularly I assume chronic use and acts of violence," Carlson said. "Why is this not something that we're pursuing more aggressively?"

IT'S THE PLANT WITH ROOTS IN HELL!!! AAAAAHHHH!

Mr. Ator, the murderer, had just been fired from his job. Mr. Ator, a likely narcissist, then took his pain out on other people. Mr. Ator's behavior pattern is like Donald Trump.

Correlation is not causality.

It's either violent video games or marijuana.

Anything other than the divisive, inflammatory rhetoric of Trump.

"Marijuana causes psychosis. Psychosis causes violence. The obvious implication is that marijuana causes violence."

The only violence you ma see from someone using mj would be brought on by bogarting the Cheetos.

My thoughts exactly.

Someone please them dumbarses over on The Fox that alcohol and cigarettes kill more people than guns.

Marijuana doesn't kill anymore.

Death from cigarettes - more than 480,000
Excessive drinking causes 88,000 deaths each year in the US
Average (intentional) Gun Deaths per Year - Total 36,383

deaths from marijuana - one (debatable)
deaths associated with marijuana - 279 marijuana-related deaths (debatable)

OK since when we can "shoot up" marijuana?

So, he would favor drug tests for gun owners? Big trucks can kill people so their operators have to be drug tested. Why not gun owners?

Moral of the story is Tucker Carlson is an idiot. But he knows this.

Mother Tucker Carlson should be writing for The Onion. Pathetic.

I have seen Marijuana cause some pretty incredible violence so I don't think Carlson is too far off.

One Halloween, I saw a guy high on marijuana attack a guy dressed as a bag of Cheetos. It was gruesome. Orange costume everywhere...

Bad laws are made in ignorance and fear, and sometime by an ad blitz by groups like the American Information Council. Who were the AIC? Mostly the Seagram family, the Canadians that sell more booze than anyone on earth.

"Why is this not something that we're pursuing more aggressively?"

Simple, because the research we HAVE conducted on cannabis points to less violent behavior than baseline, as opposed to a drug such as alcohol that points to an increase in violent behavior above baseline.

You know what I heard last week? Might have been on FOX:

"The consumption of ice cream (pints per person) and the number of murders in New York are positively correlated. That is, as the amount of ice cream sold per person increases, the number of murders increases."

Should we believe that increase in murder rates in New York are caused by an increase in ice cream consumption?

Man, I can't remember where I heard it, but I must have learned that from Tucker. Current thread/topic fits the same logic.

#22 | Posted by rstybeach11, A little tid-bit about cannabis I remember from Europe. Most cities in Europe had a problem during football season with "football hooligans". With the exception of cities in the Netherlands. Seems instead of getting tanked up an rocket fuel before and after the game, they hit the coffee houses and got as high as London rent. Too mellow to bellow man...

#24 | Posted by danni But he is more polite than Maddcow. He is better looking. Pay attention to what he says? Seldom. I reject the corporate news. At this moment 90% of every thing you hear or see in media is controlled by six companies. You can believe what they say in unison, I will have my doubts about the motive of the owners. News networks and printed press do not make much profit, or any. It has been years since the New York Times didn't cost it's owner millions every year. Why would a web tycoon buy the Washington Times? Does the Post still take money to publish the CIA's submissions?

I wish I could watch that video, MediaMatters doesn't seem to allow playback at this moment and it's not on YouTube.

But I did find this video showing the stupid Tucker had the opposite stance 10 months ago.

His "congestion" suggests cocaine, btw. I hate these television personality hypocrites. The MAGA terrorists were beginning to send mail bombs to celebrities, this trend might backfire on the Republican party sooner than later. The enchantment will wear thin..
