ThinkProgress, the influential news site that rose to prominence in the shadow of the Bush administration and helped define progressivism during the Obama years, is shutting down.

Think Progress was a pox blanket from The Cult's media wing.

Corky is in tears. be careful, he may lash out.

They were so crappy they couldn't find a buyer, even at the price of a small-sized pumpkin spice latte.

"There was certainly a time, more than a decade ago now, when the name "Think Progress" may have been seen as a home for a certain brand of wonky, young progressives who were considered hot stuff at the time. But let's face it, thinking isn't nearly as hip as it once was on the far left. Now it's more about emoting and resistance and canceling enemies. Sites like Now This and Upworthy seem designed to cater to these newer progressives who need emotional content more than they need that "one chart" that explains everything."

Sounds reasonable. The Left is all about "feelings" these days. Like aoc said, being morally right is more important than being factually correct.

And nothing of value was lost. Marxist-leftism is on the retrat; their outlets fold despite extraordinary sponsorship.
They were defeated by hordes of online autists who rally around a memeable image of a cartoon frog.

Dance on the grave all you want morons, there will be more sites like Think Progress coming along reporting the embarrassing stories about the flunkies you all want to put into office. Only the stupid would celebrate the end of Think Progress. But then, we are not in short supply of stupid people.

Neera Tanden feeding unionized employees into the woodchipper like the good progressive Democrat she is. What a class act.

CFAP is FreedomWorks for Democrats. Sites like Think Progress will be completely co-opted by CFAP, and all of a sudden, you will start insisting that pro-corporate, pro-banking policies are progressive.

Progressives are cute to people like David Brock when they are easily marginalized, but once you start ------- with their money, the games are over.

I don't think many liberals or progressives even read it.

Although its not really shutting down. It's just becoming a website devoted to posting research and articles by the Center for American Progress.

Hell, only 12 staffers are being let go.

The problem is that progressives read a diversity of websites. Republicans watch Fox (as proven here, they don't read so good).

Translation: There's no ------- way we're letting this website push populists over our pro-business Democrats, especially when our strategy is "anyone but Trump" again.
