Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, September 10, 2019

After dozens of evacuees from the Hurricane Dorian-ravaged Bahamas without visas were forced off a ferry to Florida, President Donald Trump said the U.S. needed to be "very careful" with who was allowed in and implied that dangerous people could be trying to enter including "very bad" gang members and drug dealers.

Send in Care, hell send in the U.S.S. Comfort, but this is an England territory and commonwealth, why are you blaming Trump for this?

And I knew someone would make it racist, thanks Nixon.

It's racist because Trump is overturning hallowed convention. It's sadistic because Trump is a sadist, and this was an easy way to revictimize helpless people.

Who said it's "only" our responsibility? Nobody.

Realiry is they're only 50 miles away from us, and their government has cooperated closely with us for decades on things like drugs, guns, migration, civil aviation, marine research, etc. They import almost all of their manufactured goods from the US, and their economy is basically dependent upon ours.

But yeah let's just cast them aside in their time of need like a good Christian would.

The boat company kicked them off, it was for hire $150, and could have gone to another port to get people their "paperwork", its not even a "visa", which people complain I used it wrong.

Plenty of other operators did it for free, and even went to the other port for those people that didn't have the "paperwork".

All US is requesting is they have the paperwork when the arrive.

Its fascinating, a gouging operator is defended here.

Today, liberals have given me faith, I do believe there is a god, Trump is a miracle worker.

Have you make yourself poor giving to the poor? If not? how can you judge me?

If everyone has given away everything, how can anyone else get help?

Do you have a link for that? I mean I read several articles about this and they only mentioned a cruise liner had been allowed in with the same paperwork. Not that the problem in this case was because of the Port the ship was sailing too but the lack of visas period was the problem. Sounds like this Ferry sails regularly and with Bahamians on it having the same paperwork - Passport and criminal record check...

I mean please inform us.

Conservatives really do believe anything they want...

1. Our country is the most charitable on earth.
We are #2 behind China is amount of foreign aid given in total per year even though they don't public release the figures.
borgenproject.org

If measured by foreign aid as a percentage of GDP, we aren't even in the top 10....
www.weforum.org

2. And did Jesus say do it over and over again? What if you have done it once, do we need to log it with the SJW such as yourself?
Yes, Jesus said do it over and over again. Although the Bahamas haven't really requested it over and over again, have they?

3. Have you make yourself poor giving to the poor? If not? how can you judge me? If everyone has given away everything, how can anyone else get help?
Nice strawman! We aren't asking you to become poor or give everything away. We are saying you could help out more and barely feel it if at all.

4. People are going to hell because they arent confessing their sins and believing in God, not because we dont have open borders.
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
" 1 John 3:17
It's not open borders to take in refugees until they have a place to return home to. Even Jesus got the manger.

You should have just said you were one of "those" type of Christians. For you, the Bible is for making yourself feel superior and righteous rather than an actual text to live by. You just ignore the helping the poor passages because they don't support what you want to believe.

I don't know your faith... But I have a pretty good understanding of what GOOD Christians are supposed to be like. Confessing Sins and believing in God - Only if you are a Christian and believe in the principle as the Catholic dogma created it. Which IMHO was a way to have power over people. Very few people think we should have "open" borders so I wish you would step away from that lame right wing argument. CHARITY is a big piece of the FOUNDATION of CHRISTIANITY.

There are plenty of things that Jesus said most Christians don't follow. I think a good one here is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and keep in mind "One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." Just saying TRUE Christians should have a problem with not having generous charity.

Bottom line is the people of the Bahamas are in a REALLY bad situation. I mean having a category 5 Hurricane hover over you for 4 days? 185 MPH sustained winds at the peak? What if it was your state or even the entire US?

We as the wealthiest country in the world are in a position to help our immediate neighbor. Yes we are doing some but could do far more including at least temporarily taking in our neighbors. Even if they had all the aide in the world (which they don't) in the Islands it is no place for most of these people to be right now. I listened to the head of one of the aid organizations talking about what a mess it is. They have nowhere to store anything because IT IS ALL GONE! Much of the infrastructure is gone as well. Many of the fresh water wells are contaminated with ocean water. Even the few things still standing aren't necessarily safe - the aid groups are afraid of contamination that could render the supplies waste. Not only that the small government is overwhelmed to the point of being ineffective - the aid groups are trying to organize among themselves. There are at least 70k people completely homeless. Bottom line is we could do more - much more - and we should as descent Human beings.

But then again we couldn't even help our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico sufficiently...

See, there's the problem. You dont know how much I can "help out", or what my tolerance to giving is. Just because you see someone, you dont see that they may have given already or that they are stretched thin or that they may have already given.

Helping a few Bahamians is not "giving away everything."

You know I dont want my tax dollars going to charity, because that's not what they are for. But you want to feel good. Maybe you dont have enough to give and that's ok. But you do want to feel like you are a good person, so you want to use the tax dollars for that, but you really cant afford it.

My problem with this is that Trump changed the rules. Period. Prior to the devastation of the Bahamas these same people could come over with the documentation they are now being denied entry with.

I understand the argument that they are not US Citizens and it is not our responsibility to provide for them, but also consider that we are now actively changing rules to prevent them entry when they otherwise would have been allowed. That is all sorts of screwed up and there is no excuse for such behavior.

It is because of how racist against the black community you consistently sound on this site. Along with the fact that you are blind to the actual racism that is coming out of the white house. To give Trump a pass on it like you do is crazy if you are what you claim to be. I am no liberal, and could barely be considered a Democrat. Both parties have left moderates like myself behind. The gap in the middle is growing as they get further apart, and could give way to a viable third party if someone was smart. All of that aside it apprears that this is about money to you and as I stated above they cant get welfare and are not claiming asylum. What if it happened to you here in the US and you had family in Canada you were able to stay with while repairs were made in your absence? Would you feel shafted if you were suddenly no longer able to visit as you had in the past and were told you would still be allowed to do?

According to the bible, your "tolerance" should not have limits.

And all that believed were together, and had all things in common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
Acts 2; 44-45

If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.
Matthew 19:21

The King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
He will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Matthew 25; 31-46

It is pointless to discuss this with someone wearing blinders.

For the record I am not completely ignorant to black issues, and do not feel that you should be liberal. Liberals are diseased at this point and if significant changes arent made the Democratic party will continue to suffer. Illegal immigration has also done significant damage to black households. I dont see how feminism did any more damage to black families than it did to white families. Divorce is a huge problem in all races due to them. i am fortunate to have a lasting marriage with a man whom I am happy to call my best friend and wish everyone else the same fortune.

It's people from nations being abused by capitalism that tend to end up here.

As to me, i do my best to do right by others and would put my philanthropy and volunteerism up against just about any fake Christian any day of the week.

Obviously the latter. Just another non-Christian calling other people "not true Christians."

right....you're 6'4" and you bench press 400lbs too, right?

you're way too angry at folks here to be any kind of a philanthropist or volunteer.

Your intense intolerance sort of gives that away.

because you, the non-christian, quoted the bible and accused someone of not being a christian.

that sounds exactly like something a fake christian would do...but it's you who does it, in reality.

you should find something else to deflect with..Norway and the bible has been tried....and of course, racism.

It's not a deflection to tell a selfish "christian" they're failing to live up to their own book.

I've already talked about the intricate policy relationship we have with the Bahamas and why it's a good idea to retain that and help them out. Nobody took me up on that discussion. You're here doing something else instead. That's on you.

Liberals are diseased at this point and if significant changes arent made the Democratic party will continue to suffer..

There is a problem with the Democratic Party, it's become too big of a tent and everyone inside it are fighting to define what the party is suppose to represent.

The Republican Party has been boiled down to a fervent base. Literally a group of people who, regardless of what their party does or doesn't do, will support it.

The Democratic Party finds itself attempting to represent America's liberals, like the party did in the 60s and 70s, because that's when the party actually stood for something. It's trying to appeal to moderates, like Clinton and Obama did, because they are the largest voting block. It also suddenly it finds itself gaining ex republicans who are sick of Trump and the direction the Republican party is heading.

But, all these groups have different demands, and even the groups themselves don't always agree. So it leaves the party splintered, tumultuous, weakened.

The only real solution is for the party to split up, give the liberals our own party, the moderates their own party, and all the conservatives who no longer want to be republicans their own party.

At that point, each group will be represented and given a fair shot at winning elections and representing their base.

For Boaz, "Mr. Christian" who doesn't believe in what the namesake of Christianity taught:

Matthew 5:42
Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

Matthew 19:21

Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Luke 16:19-31 - The Rich Man And Lazarus

19 "Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day. 20 "And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores, 21 and longing to be fed with the crumbs which were falling from the rich man's table; besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores. 22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.'

25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.'

Luke 18:22

When Jesus heard this, He said to him, "One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Luke 12:33

"Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys.

Luke 14:13

"But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

Even though he earned over $80k a year in the Army, spending habits were bad at the Boaz house, so they've racked up a pile of credit card debt he said he's going to try to 'pay down.'

Pay down Credit card debt, pay off my car then me and Mrs. Boaz are going to tour the country after age 58.
No reason why it cant be done, I'm in the best country in the world..

Dude, "Christianity is purportedly based on the life and teachings of Christ.

Hypocrites like BOAZ don't practice Christianity. They pick from Leviticus or Apostle Paul to justify NOT doing what the namesake of the religion whose principles they pretend to adhere to taught.

#110 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2019-09-11 01:00 AM | Reply

He and other 'Christians' who don't practice what Christ taught are no different than Al Qaeda members. Here's why:

Most Al Qaeda and ISIS members don't actually know the Koran or what Mohammad actually taught. Or even that Mohammad was married to a Jew. They get their horrific notions from other, later writings that had nothing to do with Mohammad or the Koran.

With BOAZ and his ilk, they proclaim themselves "Christians" but skirt around doing what Christ taught ... like Al Qaeda and ISIS terrorists who claim to be adherents to Islam and the Koran.

Should we not as a nation provide aid to the entire world? Send the ships out, bring home those that will come and provide all comfort and aid to those that do not.

Offer Statehood to all countries, territories, etc.

If we are to be true to aid to all men worldwide, then the US must give to all, borrowing against all our assets.

Declare by law that all citizens must provide housing to any with no roof over their head.

Is this what charity is? If it isn't and the sky isn't the limit, then you sound like Boaz with your limitation.

Jesus drew on the ground. The crowd dispersed. No one remained to cast stones.

Then, Jesus said he wasn't judging her either.

Told her to stop sinning.

Notice you can help your fellow by pointing out their sin, and they yours, and not be passing judgment.

My planks are bigger than others' specks.
