The New York Times is reporting that - according to documents obtained by Scottish government agencies - Donald Trump entered a partnership with a struggling local airport near his recently purchased golf resort to increase air traffic and boost tourism in the region in 2014.

This is why a president should never have any business other than running the country.

Well of course he had a special deal and of course the sumbitch is lying about it.

Of course the Trump Organization had a deal with the local airport at Turnberry in 2014-that is just good business if you buy a resort in a relatively remote area. Look up Bandon Dunes and the North Bend Airport if you want an example of a deal like that.

If proof emerges from the Air Force investigation that the Trump Administration pressured the AF to use the airport in 2019 for no reason other than to make money for the Trump Organization, then that will be what the Dems need to prove a violation of the Emoluments Clause.

You've really yet to see a a pattern emerge for Trump's thievery?

"...that will be what the Dems need to prove a violation of the Emoluments Clause."

So?

Impeachment merely hands things over to the Senate and the AG. There is no way Moscow Mitch and Roy Cohn Jr will let anything happen once they get control.

Rhetorical questions all, of course.

I understand that the Right permits it's leaders to steal.

#3 Trump has been profiting off his presidency since his inaugural committee was formed, and everyone knows it. At this point i'd need to see evidence that he wasn't commandeering the AF to Turnberry in order to change my gut reaction to this situation.

"TFF"

More like TF true. Moscow Mitch won't even move on an election protection bill of his own writing, and Roy Cohn Jr outright lied about the contents of the Mueller Report.

Meanwhile, you were silent to Republicans when Trump was committing all these crimes, and still are. But boy oh boy, do you have advice for Dems: Quick! Do what I never prodded Republicans to do, and then hand the final judgement over to the Republicans to exonerate at will!

I have hunk they're waiting for Trump to be convicted in court so they can complain it's political.

You don't apparently ...

Proving a negative? ... your gut poor gut ...

Donald Trump entered a partnership with a struggling local airport near his recently purchased golf resort to increase air traffic and boost tourism in the region in 2014.

Trump helps an airport, a town, and attempts to help poor, middle class people ...

And Liberals complain ... its pretty incredible.

Its not like he accepted a $65Million dollar book deal. BTW as I have stated, any money a President by being President, associated with should be the taxpayers. Some here have disagreed ..... fascinating really.

did you all get that

trump is helping the poor Scottish business, with American tax dollars

so no American should be upset about this

He's literally running the country like it's a Trump business.

Not only do the Trumpers love it, when it's pointed out this doesn't help Americans, the Trumpers virtue signal that Trump is helping the poor and middle class... of Scotland.

Are you really this stupid?

Trump is FORCING the government, aka US, to spend money that goes into his pocket.

Only a moron would think that's the same as an ex-president writing a book that people can choose to buy.

Your cult will really defend anything your cult leader does wont you?

Join in Republicans!

You pzzies are always looking for excuses.

Start an impeachment inquiry, stop fccking around.

Actually, AU, he thinks the opposite. He thinks failing to bring articles of impeachment hurts the Dems more than impeachment. Taking him at his word, of course.

POSTED BY AMERICANUNITY "

The democrats think the same. In other words, they don't care a whit about justice. All they care about is what hurts the party.

It's party over country and justice for the democrats They even admit why they don't impeach. Shameful.

I'm with yoi 100%. But the democrats worry about their image, not justice. It's always party over country for these guys.

No, I think that failing to make the GOP vote on Trump's impeachment will hurt them more than impeaching but not convicting him in the first place.

It certainly didn't hurt the GOP in 2000 when the Dem controlled Senate refused to convict Bubba for lying under oath, which is a far lesser transgression than Obstruction of Justice.

If that's the case, it's like thinking an unarmed person who'll definitely encounter man eating bears along the course will finish a marathon.

He knows damn well McConnell and the amoral GOP will never vote to impeach regardless of the evidence submitted.

No he's been attacking dems for not impeaching, because he thinks it will hurt them, which is different. Same as you.

Calling for impeachment would be calling for his own party to join the effort.

Wow. 3 sentences and 2 straw men. That's Snoofy-level.

RoC has made his case why he thinks impeachment helps the Dems and why he thinks they should do it.

I disagree with his assessment and it's why I've repeatedly said that I DON'T think Dems should try to impeach based upon the Mueller report.

I think it would damage them politically because the public doesn't support it. I think it would be a bad move politically.

If you didn't have any straw you wouldn't even be a man.

Weird. Nonpartisan Goatmam ignores all the Republicans who know Trump should be impeached but do nothing to support the effort. It's almost like he's not actually nonpartisan as he claims.

Good to see that I am so firmly in Shreek/AU/Corky/Danforth's heads with how craft and conniving I am in trying to get the Dems to, at the very least, start a formal Impeachment Inquiry under House Rules.

Very dastardly of me...

here you go. Now you can stop asking for it and start wondering why repubs can't do the right thing too.

House Judiciary panel preparing vote to define Trump impeachment probe

Dems hope that explicitly defining their impeachment inquiry will strengthen their leverage to compel testimony from witnesses.
