I don't agree with your statement but let's do a "just suppose."

Are you saying, in your opinion, there are two evils from which to pick? Yet you prefer the worst of the two?

You really like to view yourself as a victim while enjoying, at least according to your own posts, a comfortable middle class life. Remember who sacrificed winning elections in the South to make that possible for you. Democrats, since FDR, have fought for equality for everyone in this country consistently while Republicans developed their Southern Strategy to capitalize on white resentment against Civil Rights. You're much like Trump's "African American," but he is smart and honest enough to recognize it.

"Worst of the two is a matter of opinion. And yes, there were two evils from which to choose. It just wasnt your ideology I chose."

So, how about explaining what it is you would have the Democratic Party do that would make you happy. I don't think you can. You just enjoy always being negative.

"What have you got to lose" was Der Dotard's famous question to African Americans while stumping for their votes in front of a crowd of whites, in 2016.

Found it:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Treachery of the Democrat Party... Well I won't argue they don't always do the best thing for people - including blacks - it's actually next to impossible to say the Republican party is not far worse. Every once in a blue moon they do something for actual ordinary people but when the do 20 other far worse negative things...

You fight every day to defend the party that does everything it can to prevent blacks from voting. Either you're not black, or you're an idiot.

No one with a brain would say repubs are better for blacks than dems, unless you just think there's something admirable about how openly racist they are.

Advocate for a stop to the war on drugs.
Advocate for a reform of the criminal justice system.

Start talking about self sufficiency and personal responsibility.

That's just a start, but I dont see any of those things on the horizon coming out of the Dems..

Victim? Which party always whines about how the mainstream media is against them? About how Democrats have "destroyed" the values of this country and taken it away from them? Whine about the "SJWs" and how conservatives can't say what they want because society will judge them for it?

But, fine. You can claim that the DEMOCRATS are the victims.

With all the whining and complaining how things are "unfair", the term "snowflake" fits Republicans much better anyways.

#25 | Posted by gtbritishskull at 2019-09-13 12:18 PM | Reply

Advocate for a stop to the war on drugs.

Neither party is willing to end it.

It's a failure, it's a worthless program, it infringes on personal freedom.

But, the war on drugs, started by Nixon, ramped up by Reagan, isn't going away by decree of the president or federal government, it has to be dealt with at a state level, like marijuana. We the people have to show the federal government we want a change.

Advocate for a reform of the criminal justice system.

Both parties talk about doing it. I thought Trump was going to do something about it, he took a bunch of pictures with Kanye.

It definitely needs reform.

I wouldn't expect to see it come from the right.

Stop offering gubmit goodies to blacks for their votes.

There's not guaranteed correlation between doing a good deed and receiving a reward. That's a fallacy republicans use to fear monger.

But. It does prove the saying, no good deed goes unpunished.

I wouldn't expect people on welfare to go vote. But perhaps it's all they do, soak up the "gubmit goodies" and vote Democrat.

Stop bringing up race in every conversation.

"Mexicans are rapists and criminals!"

Start talking about self sufficiency and personal responsibility.

Welcome to being a Democrat. We all work and pay bills. It's why the majority of blue states have healthy economies.

That's just a start, but I dont see any of those things on the horizon coming out of the Dems..

"Never stopped me from voting."

You got yours. Now what about your fellow Americans? Don't they deserve to be treated equally to you?? What are you doing to ensure ALL blacks (not just you) are represented equally at the ballot box?

Blacks not only die at much younger ages than their white counterparts, but they are also incarcerated at much higher rates. For instance, research has shown that, despite similar rates of illicit drug usage, black people are more than 13 times more likely than white people to be jailed on drug charges. Overall, incarceration rates for blacks are six times higher than that of whites. In the majority of states, felons and ex-felons cannot vote.

Taking many black people out of the American electorate can shift election outcomes and perpetuate social inequality in the United States.

Based on our estimates, the states of Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia have total black disenfranchisement rates between 20.7 and 24.3 percent. We also looked at local levels throughout the nation and found that in 20 congressional districts, black disenfranchisement rates range from 20 to 38.6 percent.

Poor Boazo. The facts are so mean to him!!

"Stop bringing up race in every conversation."

"Mexicans are rapists and criminals!"

Great example.

Boaz doesn't mind when non-white races get put down.

Boaz does mind when non-white races get lifted up.

I think he thinks they're not America enough to be worthy of prosperity.

Whereas he is worthy. Boaz earned his grudging access to white privilege by joining the white man's military.

#35 | Posted by snoofy at 2019-09-13 03:08 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

I find it interesting he left over racist comments that literally zero right-wingers see as racist.

#36 | Posted by snoofy at 2019-09-13 03:17 PM | Reply

Boaz seems painfully unable to think beyond his own experience.

Not everyone is physically or mentally able to have a 20 year military career.

So, "go to college." Not everyone has the opportunity to go in the first place, much less the brains to succeed.

There are people - Americans - whose peak potential is working in a restaurant or a warehouse somewhere making poverty wages or less. Many times with no benefits. Can you even acknowledge these people exist?

What are they to do? Rot in a termite infested apartment with no healthcare? Never retire until they die? Raise children in substandard conditions who themselves will have equally limited opportunities? Pay 50% interest on payday loans because people like Boaz sit in their ivory towers and say "well dont get behind on your bills then."

Your unwillingness to think beyond your own experience is the fundamental reason that you are a Republican. Don't blame "treacherous" Democrats for your own greed and the way you apply that greed in the political marketplace.

You exemplify a major problem with democrats. They look for a one size fits all solution to everythng. They tell everyone they can give them what they want, which is not possible.

I do not think Boaz was offering a one size fits all solution. I think he was relating what worked for him to get ahead and suggesting it may work for others. I don't think he meant it would work for everyone.

This country is so diverse, it would take a hundred different solutions to help 100% of the people. Problem is, many are conflicting and mutually exclusive. Therefore there will always be someone unhappy and that goal of making everyone happy all the time will alwas be the elusive pot of gold.

Dems need to come to this realization if they want their party to dominate politics. Republicans have their faults, too, but they don't pretend to be able to please everyone.

What, specifically, in my post, advocates a one size fits all approach to any problem?

I do not think Boaz was offering a one size fits all solution. I think he was relating what worked for him to get ahead and suggesting it may work for others.

I'm speaking about his attitude generally. He rests on the presumption that every single person in America has the opportunity to make it into the middle class. His (and possibly your?) unwillingness to admit that millions of people literally do not have the physical, mental and/or opportunistic privilege to get there is a fundamental factual stumbling block that will prevent him (and possibly you?) from ever agreeing with any enhancement to the social safety net ever, even ones that are provided by virtually every first world nation and are proven to cost less in the long run than America's status quo of letting people fail.

The problem is, he doesn't have an answer for those other people, aside from what's already been said.
If they are still struggling, it's their own fault, and it's not Boaz's problem.

But in reality, when Americans are struggling, it's a problem for America.
Sure, you can live in your middle class community and it might never affect you directly.
But then, why come on the Internet and bitch about it? Obviously it's affecting you. It's making you post how much you can't stand poor people.
