A Pennsylvania man who voted for President Donald Trump in 2016 told CNN on Friday that he's bitterly disappointed in how he's seen no progress in manufacturing jobs returning to his community.

Houdini at least gave a good show for the money he was given. You got conned, like a rube; and have nothing for your money and especially your vote. You can exact revenge if you want to. Your vote against Trump in 2020 could well mean he goes to prison for any number of things he royally deserves prison for.

How dare anyone be disgruntled at Donald Trump. Should be a law about that. Pretty sure someone has already thought of making one.

Worse for you, a turncoat who's gone all in for Orange Schittheap.

All of the experts from the industry have long been saying you can bring back manufacturing but you are not bringing the jobs back. Why anyone ever believed Trump about anything is a puzzle I will never understand.

Trump approval in key Rust Belt areas rises despite slow economic growth
www.axios.com

...Employment growth in blue-collar suburbs that supported President Trump in 2016 is lagging behind the rest of the country, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The big picture: Trump's job-approval rating in manufacturing-heavy counties in the Midwest and Northeast has risen since he entered office, despite low economic growth. The 77 counties analyzed by the WSJ backed Trump by a margin of 13 percentage points in 2016....

Morning Consult, who survey 5000 voters per state every day in their tracking poll, have a different take.

Scroll down the page for the map. Trump is way underwater in most states that count.

Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania look difficult for Pres Trump in that state-by-state polling.

She beat him by 2% rather than their predicted 3% in the popular vote, which is what they were measuring. Morning Consult was pretty accurate.

Their daily tracking poll of 5000 voters has a low margin of error. But, sure, the only one that matters is election day.

Who is polling better is directly related to the IQ of the average voters. I don't argue about popularity, I can't control the opinions of idiots. I try to argue issues, those issues may win or lose but it isn't dependent upon the correctness of my view, we live in a country where we have entire netorks dedicated to misleading the people so the right decisions are usually not made. With a truly charismatic candidate like Barrack Obama we won but since then we haven't because there hasn't been such a charismatic candideate since. Propaganda wins unless the opposition is as charismatic as Barrack Obama. Right now, no one is. Ideas don't win any more. That is the world we live in.

Recession Already Grips Corners of U.S., Menacing Trump's 2020 Bid

The surge in industrial jobs seen in the first two years of the Trump presidency has also gone into reverse in some parts of the country. Nationally, the U.S. has added 44,000 manufacturing jobs so far this year, according to data released on Friday. But that's way down from the 170,000 added in the same period last year.

In 22 states "including electorally important ones like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania"
the number of people working in factories actually fell in the first seven months of this year, according to figures compiled by the Economic Innovation Group, a think tank.

Except that isn't what Trump promised. From the article linked to in pervious post:

"This isn't what Trump promised. From his trade policy to tax cuts and deregulation, his grand economic vow was to bring factories home."

I didn't read the entire list, but #19 jumped out at me since I am a veteran. You are very wrong. Trump's Mission act greatly increased vet care. I am gettting a $33,000/month treatment for my lungs my doctor told me I most likely wouldn't be getting without Trump's Mission act. I also get civilian doctors if a VA doctor can't see me within 30 days. Agent Orange victims (I'm not one) are getting increased care. Many more increased benefits came with the Mission Act

How can you make up the claim Veterans are not getting increased care? I can't help but to think you made up other stuff on your list, too.

Well, this flesh and blood veteran knows he is wrong. Our benefits have gotten much better.

I talk to dozens of vets a day (like this morning) during my volunteer work at the VA hospital. They all have flesh and blood. They are all pleased with the increased benefits and ease in ability to see a civilian doctor if a VA doctor isn't available.

Your friend must be a jerk and pissed someone off.

We should promise that to everyone, regardless of the whole "job" thing.

Ironically, it ends up costing less that way, since it cuts out the armies of middleman... excuse me, middleperson bureaucrats to decide who is eligible and who is not; who has to pay and who doesn't.

I'm pretty sure that IEDs have the same effect on jerks as they do normal people, zed.

But as far as him being a jerk, I can think of no other reason he is being treated worse than all the other vets I've spoken to (and I speak to a lot due to the nature of my volunteer work at the VA) all of whom are very satisfied with the improvements in VA health care the Mission Act has brought them.
