Bill Maher used to have big balls, but he's done as far as being a cutting edge influencer and commentator on American politics.

Here what Maher tweeted in 2016 ...

"Roses are red, Violets are blue, it's time to elect ... a socialist Jew"

Now Bill Maher and Joe Scarborough are palling around like BFFs -- sickening.

I'll be watching Maher tonight, but my days of watching every Friday night are on the wane ... I'll be moving on soon enough.

When we stopped enforcing the anti-trust laws it allowed monopolies to replace the thousands of owners of radio, TV stations, newspapers, etc. We need to break up the monopolies. Who was the last President to enforce anti-trust laws? Jimmy Carter. You want to fix America? Start by breaking up monopolies.

"We need to break up the monopolies."

The degree of break up necessary to address the problem of the current Monopoly... it's not about breaking up five companies into 20, we'd need to break up five companies into 500. There's no way to ever accomplish that. You'd do yourself a bigger service to just turn off the television/radio.

Yes, actually I do. Why do you ask? Surely your not comparing Maher to Carlin? LOL The two are light years apart. Carlin wrote his own stuff. Maher has a team of writers. Carlin can shoot from the hip. Maher reads off of a teleprompter.

Liberals are easy to manipulate - as long as they agree with some of your political views, they will endorse you as an expert. That is why they are constantly elevating marginally educated comedians to the status of political experts - Mahr, Colbert, Stewart, Handler, etc. They have this weird hero-worship thing for celebrities. They are trying to draft Michelle Obama and Oprah to run FOR PRESIDENT. Bill Burr has a good skit on Michelle Obama. Hell, it even applies to Hillary - her only accomplishment was being married to Bill (that, and cattle futures trading). Colbert was a theater major, Stewart was a psych major (what kind of man majors in psych?) before working on MTV's Remote Control.

Yet, you would think these guys have a long distinguished career in politics. A Pat Buchanan turd has more political knowledge in it than that clown car combined.

What you easily fail to understand, child, is that Bill Maher used to be a leading voice for the Left on issues that mattered -- speaking up for Ron Paul's anti-war stance, speaking out against 9/11 conspiracy theorists, speaking up for the poor, etc.

Speaking of gullible, people who identify as conservative LIKE YOU barfed out stupidity for eight long years on how Obama was a socialist ... when Obama was a just another corporate continuation of Bill Clinton and George Bush on most everything, minus their self-identified labels they present to the voting electorate.

To test your hilariously moronic theory ...

People on the Right during my lifetime have voted for president the following;

- Tricky Dick Nixon = crook, resigned in disgrace
- Ronnie Reagan = Bedtime for Bonzo; started the decline of America with tax cuts and deficit spending
- Bush-41 = a sane [but only up to a point] old school Republican
- Bush-43 = insultingly stupid; 9/11, bigger tax cuts for the rich, two major wars, Katrina, spied on America, 2008 Wall Street Crash
- Trump = shamelessly overt corrupt racist demagogue; both he and his rich d-bag friends are looting America's wealth

I can understand why people who call themselves liberal have great disdain for the above -- just look at them!

But why do people LIKE YOU keep voting for these venal douchebags?

What I can't understand is why people who call themselves conservative LIKE YOU dwell on mostly meaningless social and cultural issues ... as YOU happily bend over for Republicans who'll continually ream your ass and steal all your money. Why? Because some Republican douchebag told you an unpatriotic gay person of color, along with millions of illegals, and Hillary, are THE reason why YOU have little money and why YOUR life is miserable and meaningless?

As Gore Vidal alluded to, it's one of the universe's great unsolved mysteries of self-abuse and intellectual obstinance.

The only one out of that bunch that I voted for was Trump and I will happily vote for him again in 2020. I probably would have voted for Reagan had I been old enough though.

"conservative LIKE YOU dwell on mostly meaningless social and cultural issues"

What the hell are you talking about? I care about financial issues (which includes illegal immigration) and stopping new wars. I don't care what you put in your body - drugs, alcohol, a dude's penis...does not matter to me one bit.

"as YOU happily bend over for Republicans who'll continually ream your ass and steal all your money"

I, along with the entire country, have gotten much richer since Trump has been elected. Exactly how is he stealing my money? He is going to take my stock account? He is going to take back my salary for the last 2 years? How exactly is he stealing anything?

"along with millions of illegals, and Hillary, are THE reason why YOU have little money "

I don't know about the rest on here, but I have a lot of money and a very good life. I have not worked for anything new minimum wage for 30 years (back when I was 16). Illegal immigration does not hurt my wallet - it is hurting you and the other Liberals barely scraping by. You correctly place half the blame - the global corporatists that want to depress wages - but you can't see the other side of the equation.

I know Liberals are miserable - you must be as you are all VICTIMS. I have never been a victim because that is a mentality that gets you nowhere in life. You come and spew hatred and anger on this board every day - and yet you think other people are miserable. This last 2 years of Trump have been wonderful for me - no screaming at the sky like you proggies.

You're going to die penniless in some wretched nursing home, doofus. And that's if you're lucky, because the chances are higher you'll shake loose the mortal coil in some random ICU somewhere hooked up to a ventilator with strangers poking and prodding you with medical instruments.

Who gets sick? Everyone -- ESPECIALLY before death.

And when you get old and sick and are unable to take care of yourself, you'll have to liquidate all your assets in order to be placed in a nursing home.

The system is set-up to EXTRACT whatever wealth you have accumulated over your lifetime to pay people who set this system up in the first place -- and that's just for food and shelter.

And morons like you vote for all this.

The underlying economy sucked. I made way more under Trump on my stock and real estate portfolio. I suspect the next 6 years will be even better. I don't give 2 ----- if my tax rate changed 6 points if my profit doubles. What is so hard to understand?

Trump ends wars without starting new ones - that is what Trump GOP members want. He delivered. You are correct, Dems and Obama are the party of warmongers (excluding Tulsi). Whatever happened to Cindy Sheehan?

Here it is:

Why right-wingers say lower taxes are needed for economic growth.

As your story indicates, that's clearly not the case.

As I said, I don't agree with the tax cuts. What is needed is tax code simplification and consistency. Tax policy has a big impact on fixed asset purchases - for example, with the SALT cap, that changes how much I would pay for a house. Same goes with fixed PPE when you play with depreciation rates. Companies and individual alike would save a ton of money by eliminating the need for accounting tricks to lower their tax bills.

Now, this is different from corporate income taxes as we are in a global economy and WHERE they declare their profits is 100% driven by tax rates. If rates are high in the US, they declare profits overseas using transfer prices and the US effectively gets no money - Amazon and GE are great examples of this. By lowering the taxe rate to global levels, you remove the incentive to play accounting games and you will increase the share paid in the US. This will not change overnight as the companies need to unwind their accounting schemes (immediate unwind would be proof of tax fraud). So, after 4-5 years, you will experience increase tax revenue to the US - not due to growth - but simply due to unwinding tax schemes.

But in total - no, Trump should not have changed tax rates. He should have instead fought for code simplification and went after companies (Amazon, GE, etc) for using transfer pricing tricks to lower their tax bills.

One of the few issues in Washington D.C that has bipartisan consensus is war.

Trump does seemingly have some anti-war sentiment when one factors in him steamrolling traditional war mongering Republicans like Jeb Bush, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio in the 2016 primaries ... when Trump ripped George Bush and Republicans on the Iraq War I definitely took notice ...

But if you believe that Republicans are anti-war after setting up all these defense contractors during OEF/OIF, then you simply are naive. These marked up defense contracts are gravy trains (aka: revenue streams) for those who profit from the Military-Industrial-Complex.

You bringing up Cindy Sheehan tells me how shallow your thinking is on what really is going on.

Why is that shallow? She is anti-war, whether Dem or GOP led. She just gets ZERO press when -------------------- was in office. As Ron Paul said, Obama's election was the worst thing to ever happen to the anti-war movement. Trump has shown amazing restraint despite the calls from the neocons on both the GOP and Dem sides of the aisle.

Shallow, as in ...

Trump is obviously having internal battles within the Republican Party and even within his administration for not being hawkish enough on foreign policy -- but you want to simply be a Trump fluffing lemming while dismissing a real anti-war advocate like Cindy Sheehan.

That's shallow.

Okay, good -- Trump and Sheehan, now there's a nice anti-war couple.

Too bad that both Establishment Republicans and Democrats hate her, along with hating Trump's foot dragging on dropping bombs, tho Yemen might disagree with all that.

According to who?

We're waging war in something like 7 countries ...

White House acknowledges the U.S. is at war in seven countries
www.vice.com

Though President Donald Trump campaigned on a moreisolationist foreign policy platform, he's largely expanded or reinvigorated his predecessor's conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, and Niger.

The report gives the clearest indication to date of America's most pressing military conflicts under Trump, largely detailing an uptick in direct and indirect combat, as well as "advise and assist" operations across all regions.

So much for Trump and Cindy Sheehan shacking up.

America has been militarily involved in the Greater Middle East since 1980 -- 40 years of failed bipartisan misadventures.

But I get it, it's all Obama's fault, and you hate him for that along with being black.
