British High Commissioner Thomas Drew has always shared his love for the culinary arts as he can make round rotis. The UK envoy now has showcased his skills in making gajar ka halwa. Drew posted a video to over 69,000 of his followers on Twitter, in which he can be seen making the delicacy. "My second lesson cooking carrot halwa. Easily the most delicious [and most indulgent] dish you can make with carrots," he wrote.

There is nothing sadder than an Englishperson in the kitchen. If not for the ethnic foods, I would not be able to eat there. Boiled meat and potatoes and bubbles and squeak can go only so far. Though baked beans for breakfast, something rare in the US, is a good English contribution to early morning cuisine. But that's about it. I do baked beans for breakfast here, or more commonly refried beans since that is a common breakfast staple in the SW US.

The best ethnic food I've ever had anywhere outside the actual country of origin is London. They have great Chinese Pakistani Turkish, Middle Eastern, Indian, Greek etc. restaurants. Central Asian restauraunts in London are my fave. But they are cooked by ethic cooks, not Englishmen. Wish the US could do them as well -- at least in the numbers they do in London.

Sad... but true.

If it wasn't for us, they would still be living on dog food. LOL

Same here. No breakfast is complete without a plate full of Heinz baked beans.

English food may be the reason England conquered most of the world. They were miserable. Once they brought back conquered food they got lazy.

They do have fish and chips, at least.

Fish and chips are good. Love the malt vinegar with them. So yes, there is one more culinary asset they can claim other than baked beans for breakfast.

Britain's no.1 dish is "from Pakistan" called "Chicken Tikka Masala". It's been called "Britain's most favorite food".

In Pakistan it's called "last night's leftovers".

#2 that's because we don't call them "sweet carrots". As a TEXAN(?) I thought you would know that we call them candied carrots or glazed carrots.

The Pakistani version is much more like sweet potato souffle, but suckier.

Tastes okay, but always looks like somebody vomited chicken on the plate. Terrible presentation. Brought to you buy Bangladeshi chefs making fake Indian food that white people can handle.

Carrot Halwa, another dish that tastes good but looks terrible.

You are confusing two very different things. I was not interested in candied carrots. At all.

No.

Stop pretending to know shpit when you actually know nothing.

It was created because someone didn't like the idea of leftover chicken tikka going to waste.

To do that to a Tikka (barbecued chicken) is blasphemy in my opinion. I wouldn't like to have that trash.

Bangladeshi chefs

When you need cheap second tier chefs who can do a little of everything, you hire a Bengali.

making fake Indian food

Chicken Tikkas aren't Indian.

Indians do curry.

Pakistanis do barbecue.
