Virgin Group founder Richard Branson has written on Virgin's site that he is "saddened" to see the collapse of Thomas Cook. "It's upsetting to see so many people lose their jobs and thousands of holidaymakers affected by disrupted travel," Branson wrote.

Ah, so the UK government is stepping in to get people return flights:

"When people get to the end of their holiday, they will be brought back to the UK," Tim Johnson, head of policy at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, told CNN.
"We've chartered 40 planes and we're going to be running over 1,000 flights over the next two weeks," he added.

I hope Branson wasn't goint to use them for his Virgin Galactic space tourism. That would suck getting stuck in orbit.

Yesterday I was flying from Frankfurt Main into Rome Davinci. Crazy thing is, Condor or still flying. I went to their website, and it was indicating business as usual.
