Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

USA Today Opinion: A campaign finance violation isn't the only federal crime suggested by what we know. Why would Justice walk away with so much left on the table? Despite compelling evidence implicating President Donald Trump and others in potential crimes, the Department of Justice declined to open a criminal investigation into them for their role in the Ukraine situation. This raises serious questions about the motivations and independence of decision-makers at DOJ and whether this decision was made in good faith.

I believe Mueller already told us the reason why. Since the whistleblower's allegations have to do with actions Trump has taken while President, he cannot be criminally charged in federal court - literally no matter what he does. Their interpretation of the OLC memo effectively places Trump above the law while he's President.

Trump's attorneys are in NY state court making the argument that this same opinion means that no jurisdiction anywhere in America has the right to even investigate the President while he sits in office.

Of course the DOJ is apart of the cover up due to their announced position that the OLC memo is a virtual shield of immunity for whatever illegal any President might do while seated in office.

Fat Nixon will be impeached for this. Right now the Trumpublicans are bellowing for a quick impeachment vote because they know the longer the impeachment inquiry goes, the more of Fat Nixon's illegal behavior will become public. Some ball washers like Graham, Nunes, Gym Jordan, Cruz and McTurtle will hold steadfast in their support for Donny Tic Tacs, but vulnerable GOPPERS will be hard pressed to convict the lying sack of crap.

AMONG INDEPENDENTS: Should Congress begin impeachment proceedings to remove Trump from office? [9/24/19 to 9/26/19]
Yes 39%
No 36%
Don't Know 25%

The more of his illegal behavior and coverup are exposed, the greater the numbers will move to yes.

Is AG Coverup complicit in the coverup? Is that even a question? It's why he was hired, it's what he does. Defend Donald Trump and ignore the responsibilities of being the Attorney General of the United States. He should be impeached and removed from office.
I think the Democrats should rethink impeachment strategy. Let's start with the lower offices, work up to the Presidency. Let's start with someone that is, pretty much, universally considered to be a scum bag.

Is the DOJ complicit in coverups to protect the President and members of his cabinet and his party from prosecution for collusion, influence peddling, and security violations? Is that the question?

Which President are we talking about?

Those who defend AG Coverup today will be seen as useful idiots in the future. Of course he is trying to cover up the crimes of his boss, that' exactly why he was hired. Are you folks seriously trying to argue otherwise.? I honestly thought more of some of you than that but if you are determined to fall in with the idiots so be it. Your choice.

"Nah, this isn't playgound stuff its too serious, they are Stalinists."

Even Joe McCarthy realized that is too dated to even be a thing any more. Call me a Stalinist and, guess what, the younger folks don't even know what your are talking about. And the reality is that you are probably more of a Stalinist than I, I believe in democracy, elections, freedom, etc. while you align yourself with Oligarchs....who created today's Russia directly from Stalinist top down dictatorship.
Andrea is the real STalinist here. I'm an FDR Democrat. You know, FDR, the President who saved capitalism? Or, are you too dumb to even know that?
Thank God for FDR, we need today's FDR. I think it might be Elizabeth Warren.
Republican argument against her: call her Pokahontas. Republicans really are deep thinkers.

Exactly. They don't. And you think ignorance of history is a virtue, not a vice. You probably don't even know this famous quote, and certainly don't know who said it without googling it.

I remembered the quote quite well but who spoke it not so much; but then I guessed: Winston Churchill. So I googled it, and he sort of borrowed it from another guy; George Santayana.
Those who think that "remembering a quote is the equivalent of intelligent thought are doomed to mediocrity." Quote courtesy of me.

Nothing dated about Leninist-Stalinist thinking.

""Leninist ways of thinking continue to spread, especially among Western radicals who have never read a word of Lenin. This essay is not just about Lenin, and not just Leninism, the official philosophy of the ussr, but also the very style of thought that Lenin pioneered."

1. A prima facie case is "a cause of action or defense that is sufficiently established by a party's evidence to justify a verdict in his or her favor, provided such evidence is not rebutted by the other party."
www.law.cornell.edu

2. The claims that rise to the level of impeachment are buttressed by the WH's own transcript. Where is the rebuttal?

No, you think once again if the evidence does not go your way it's because it was somehow covered up. Mueller report didn't go your way, there was a coverup, Mueller needs to testify, did not go your way, coverup. Make Cohen testify, didn't go your way, coverup. Are you beginning to see why you have ZERO credability? You had to have the transcript of the Ukraine call, it didn't go your way so you determined that the AG covered it up. I'll make a wager here, Trump will get re-elected and the idiots like you on the left will not blame your useless candidates but will say Trump once again cheated. Too predictable.

Horse crap. No one I know wants to put GM or Ford under the ownership of the government. Lenin? Stalin? Baloney. Try FDR. Yes we want socialized healthcare and education but none of us want the government to own the means of production of products. That is the failed argument your side has used for 60 years, it was false when they started it and it's still false today.
Americans are becoming smart enough to see through your argument. it's crap, you pretend that us, on the left, have never proposed, never supported but the folks on the right are so willing to listen to the liars on the right.

"What's wrong with being a homosapien?"

That is a good one Jeff, but really, homosapiens have a lot to things to answer for. Like Global Warming? Realise, here in S. Florida we are dealing with the highest tides in history. I eat breakfast on Sundays at a restaurant where I have eaten for 40 years, the restaurant is ok but the home owners near it are dealing with serious issues of flooding which has never happened before. Sea level rise is real, I can see it on a daily basis. Even my very conservative daughter is now asking me, "how can the melting of a few glaciers make the water rise so much? Like it or not, it is happening. And it is happening right now. We don't have decades to deal with this, we need to make it our number one priority right now. Al Quaeda was a threat but sea level rise is a threat that makes Al Quaeda look insignivicant. Believe it or not, it will still happen.

If The Founders agreed with you, there wouldn't be an Impeachment Clause in the Constitution. They DID know about elections. Here's a hint: It is just as valid as the 2nd Amendment. In fact, more valid, since it is in an Article, not an Amendment.

They knew there might come a time when a President was so corrupt it couldn't wait until the next election.
