White House staff used to "babysit" President Donald Trump's phone calls with foreign leaders because he was often so unprepared for the conversations, a source familiar with how calls to foreign leaders were handled under former White House chief of staff John Kelly told CNN.

Prior to Kelly leaving the White House in December 2018, he would often hit "mute" on the call so people in the room could guide him, as he was known to sometimes go off "on random tangents" with foreign leaders.

"We were there to coach him in real-time because he was so impervious to coaching ahead of time," the source told CNN.

... White House staff needed to sit in on his conversations to make sure Trump didn't say anything inappropriate, ...

If so, then they failed in their task.

I figured this was a given with Trump. I would be shocked if they didn't do so.

His cult wont care. Ignorance and stupidity are virtues in their world. Not knowing anything about other countries only proves trump is a real man of the people. (the stupid people)

Who knew that shady real estate developer president would be less-than-prepared?

Here's a theory: Imagine how much worse he'd have done without them.

I remember often seeing pictures of Obama with all the papers and books of information he needed to be an effective President.
Every President had to love the homework because there is a lot of it when your are running the USA
Trump watches Hannity or tweets on the pot. Everyone knew 3 years ago he doesn't read, or can't read well or just doesn't have the capacity to absorb information
that isn't on the TV. Sad really. His education has failed him.

Hey, Republicans, you conceived, plotted, engineered, financed, implemented, celebrated and continue to lustily defend this incompetence every day. And you appear as proud as a 2 year old pointing to his potty chair covered with feces and urine.

Trump is the fetid flower of Republican gardening.
