Lawfare Blog: Over the weekend, the president sent a tweet that seemed to warn of civil war if he were to be impeached and removed from office: Although the president was quoting Pastor Robert Jeffress's comments on Fox News, he was adopting them as his own.

Here's the most interesting part of that Reveal article:

Wait....they were SCRAPING? FB says that's a no-no unless they've given permission. Tell me a journalist isn't out doing the same things (actually, far worse) that they were blasting Cambridge Analytica for not so long ago.

The "patriots" on the right cheered with the Cliven Bundy terrorists targeted police officers with sniper rifles because it was a constitutional crisis to make him pay for letting his cattle graze on federal lands.

They also cheered when his domestic terrorists seized government buildings and then pathetically begged for snacks as they didn't plan their occupation properly. I never laughed so hard as when they had a case of ------ delivered to them.

I also remember the outrage the right had when they tried to flee, were pursued in a high speed chase and then when they crashed their truck got out and reached for handgun and was shot dead. Finicum is a martyr to the wing ding right www.azcentral.com

The right are champions of domestic terrorism so long as it supports their narrative.

Wars usually involve deaths. The right is as smart as the left. Puking out the stupid TDS meme that they are dumb because they voted for Trump doesn't mean it is so. And most are armed unlike most of the left.

It doesn't sound very brainy to underestimate your enemy or to rely on a meme to win a war, especially if you aren't armed.

Yes, outwitting your enemy has been done for thousand of years. But in almost every case, the victor had weapons.

For example, in the game of Minecraft, the creators purposely made bedrock unbreakable so stupid ------- and ignorant noobs don't dig straight down and fall through the bottom of the game and plummet into the infinite void of everlasting cretindom. Trump's election and subsequent cult following simply shows that the vast majority of GOPers have no such worries-- in their world bottomless stupidity can be reprogrammed into infinite intelligence-- surrounded by enough feather-ruffled, balmex-coated dumbasses drooling hare-brained talking points to create a complete, alternate reality.

Insurrection will never happen with militia groups. The US Military is way too sophisticated today. They'd make short work of these dudes. If it ever does happens it would be a military coup from the top down(see movie " Seven Days in May, 1964).

I still have a lot of confidence in this country. We're just going through a rough period. We've experienced worse times than this and got through.

That's debatable. Technically we're STILL going through the effects of the civil war. Half the support of the republican party is from people who aren't willing to admit they lost it. Much of the state of the african american population is due to institutionalized racism intentionally created to make them suffer or leave. If the south wasn't STILL doing all it can to keep them from voting, our national government would likely be in democrat's hands right now.

The civil war might be "over" but it's not over, and now its starting to heat back up.

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia,

Be prepared to be suppressed and disciplined. The Military will NOT be on your side The Congress has the explicit power to arm the militia or disarm it)

"Federal criminal law prohibits "rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof," including incitement or assistance to such rebellion or insurrection. It also prohibits conspiring to overthrow the U.S. government, levy war against it or oppose its authority by force. Based on the organization's declared mission, there's little doubt that the Oath Keepers would view any impeachment action by congress as "unconstitutional" and therefore not to be obeyed. Although the group's current tweets come close to calling for rebellion or insurrection should that happen, there's been no indication that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating. Are the militias drawing up plans for possible civil war, for example? Are they training? Are they stockpiling weapons? These are things that law enforcement should be investigating, whether under federal law or state law.

Although it is widely believed that the Second Amendment protects the right to form private militias, it does no such thing. The Supreme Court made this clear in its 2008 decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, explicitly reaffirming its own 1886 holding that "the Second Amendment ... does not prevent the prohibition of private paramilitary organizations." Indeed, they are prohibited by state constitutional provisions or statutes in all 50 states."

Then they would be lying, and in violation of an oath they took to defend their country.

And I think it far more likely than Trump does something unconstitutional than anyone else. In which case the oathkeepers...assuming they kept their oath...would find themselves facing off against those who supported Trump for no other reason than they liked him.

"Holler back when you figure out Trump violated Federal law!"

Am I a prosecutor?

"I wanna video of MB supporting a defending the Constitution with his assault weapon against the 101st Airborne."

The 101st Airborne?

They hate me.

But they did take the same oath I did.

Last night my wife told me a B-52 is going to be doing a flyover for the Michigan game.

Should I wave at you from the stands?

"Holler back when you figure out Trump violated Federal law!"

"Am I a prosecutor?"

Interesting angle.
Let's play it through:
Are you a defender?

- they did take the same oath I did.

Then we will look for you defending American citizens against Fascist Trumpist militias.

No I am correct. It is against the terms of use sure but there is no great way to stop it.

CA didn't just put up surveys the people voluntarily answered. They burrowed into the information connections of people that answered as well among other things.

God dammit nobody I know is gearing up for civil war. And if a handful of insane jerks tried, our side would stomp them pretty damn fast.

It won't be like last time if it happens. That cost us a tenth of our people. Go visit the grave sites.

Go visit Arlington. There is a place you can stand where all you can see is graves from end of the horizon to the other.

God dammit nobody I know is gearing up for civil war.

Probably not. Yet, it's pretty much a certainty that some nut is out there right now, polishing his manifesto, and loading his many clips.

Because reasons.

#85 A good manifesto would be refreshing. www.ushistory.org

You've just keyed in on the most interesting part of this academic discussion.

The Oathkeeperers were not claiming an oath to support and defend Trump. They were claiming an oath to the constitution. Probably more than any president since FDR, I see Trump as most likely to engage in unconstitutional activities, in such case the Oathkeepers, assuming they're being honest, would find themselves aligned against Trump. Along with the military, police, and any other US official.

They may have said some words that sound like an oath but they are firmly behind Trump. Never once has the group done anything about any of the unconstitutional acts of Trump. Not so much as a stern word, Yet they did show up in armed resistance to the government to oppose enforcement of constitutional laws during the Obama years.

I know three oathkeepers. All three still support Trump enthusiastically. One who has implied this week we are heading to civil war if we attempt to impeach and remove Trump from office. Two marines>NYPD, and one guy I grew up with who is sitting on a three million inheritance he got from his aunt who won some Florida lottery 15 years ago. He's the bow hunter of the group. And an elevator repairman.

Has Trump done anything unconstitutional?

I think you should try to find better friends.

#91 You seem awfully invested in convincing people the Oath Keepers aren't a bunch of --------. Are you an Oath Keeper? How many do you know?
