Constitutional scholars are not impressed with Trump. "It looks like a pathetic attempt to make a legal argument when the president is really expressing rage at the Congress for trying to stop him," said Corey Brettschneider. "What's sad about it is it's so poorly drafted and the legal arguments are so nonexistent that you wonder who's advising the president."

So long Trump is able to frame the impeachment fight as a political instead of a legal proceeding the right wing idiots on sites such as this one will continue to support him.

The impeachment process is defined by law and tradition. It requires agreement by full House vote majority.

A coup in this case is conducted by a small group hoping to overturn election results on their own.

I think the Democrats know they have no chance of either. The game plan is to discredit Trump in the eyes of independent voters. I think it's going to backfire.

I use the word as hyperbole.

#35 | Posted by Ray at 2019-10-12 12:53 PM | Reply

RAY

Ya, an attempt to subvert our election process by a small group - Trump, Giuliani, 2 Giuliani 'associates' who were arrested for illegally laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Russian cash for donations to GOP Candidates and spreading lies about one of Trump's possible 2020 opponents and the former U.S. Ambassador to the Ukraine with the help of a disgraced, corrupt, ousted Ukrainian chief prosecutor, Lutsenko.

Add to that group a criminal oligarch and friend of Putin, Dmitry Firtash, who Giuliani's two associates were on their way to meet in Vienna, where Firtash is under house arrest awaiting extradition to the U.S., where he is under indictment.

Fine group there working to subvert U.S. elections, eh?

#36 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2019-10-12 02:06 PM | Reply

BTW, Lev Parnas, one of the two indicted (now arrested) Giuliani associates, has known Trump for years. He attended private Trump parties, hung with Donald Jr in Beverly Hills, lived near Mar-A-Lago, and raised money for Trump's 2016 election.

The same guy about whom Trump just said, "I don't know those gentlemen. Now, it's possible I have a picture with them, because I have a picture with everybody"

Here's a picture of the arrested election meddlers with Trump, VP Pence, and Giuliani during happier times.

Next, it'll be "Rudy Giuliani? He wasn't a very good lawyer. I barely knew him."

Is that how you feel about Trump and Gargamel, I mean Giuliani? Crooks worthy of prosecution?

Because if they are crooks worthy of prosecution, you should be demanding impeachment.

Mueller insists his report did not exonerate Trump on obstruction

www.theguardian.com

The Russian backed Ukrainians (and Putin cronies) involved in the Ukraine affair, Trump's sudden pullout of Syria after Putin, Erdogan, Trump's denial of Russian meddling in the 2016 election despite evidence to the contrary, and Iran's Rouhani met 3 weeks ago to finalize the plan currently being carried out in Syria, actually lend credence to Trump being under the influence of Russia.

This hullabaloo brings back memories of the Vietnam War and Watergate. Every day, for years and years, they were major topics in the news almost every day. I used to ask myself, "when will it ever stop"? Now we're three years into the Left's internecine war on Trump. Now I ask myself, "is this going to continue for five more years"?

If you think you can unseat Trump, I think you are in for a major disappointment. That's my opinion.

I think you all are making fools out of yourself. That's my opinion.

It's fun sharing opinions. Beyond that, to me, politics is nothing more than a spectator sport.

"Human life is entirely dependent on plant life. And plant life loves carbon dioxide."
From Ray's website.

"In 400 parts per million, the 400 sounds like a lot. But when you reduce it to percentage terms, it equals .04% of the atmosphere. It's as negligible as .045%!"
Also from Ray's website.

Ray, how are the plants able to survive in an atmosphere that only contains 0.045% of the thing they need to exist? Are you 100% sure plants need CO2, because it doesn't seem like there's enough for them.

#55 | Posted by snoofy at 2019-10-12 11:34 PM | Reply

200 ppm of CO will kill you.

Those may sound like a lot, but when you reduce it to percentages, it equals 0.02% of the atmosphere.*

(I love useless equivalences, misplaced analogies, and meaningless sums when they're used to "debunk" actual Science. It makes figuring out who actually knows what they're talking about and who doesn't so much faster.)

* Actual CO is a nice safe 0.2 ppm in the Earth's atmosphere.

Very next sentence:

"That's what the warm-mongers are counting on."

Ray then goes on to argue how can 400 ppm really have any effect on the climate whatsoever, because it's a very small percentage.
It'a a fitting tribute to the unvarnished ignorance of men like Ray.
