Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, October 10, 2019

Alas, even if your undergrad is happy with his English major now, other studies say he will come to regret it. In June, a Payscale survey of 250,000 college grads reported 1 in 5 with a humanities degree as saying that, next to their student loans, their choice of major was their biggest educational regret. A 2017 MarketWatch story was blunt: It called English "the most regretted college major in America."

In retrospect, a dual major in History and English would have been amazing.

Before those fields were taken over by Leftists, deconstructionists, post-modernists, neo-marxists, etc., yes. I took many history and English courses back when they were taught by sober, thoughtful teachers, not ideologues.

Yes nullee, Manderin would've served you better.

An English degree would help with writing titles for posts.

I know one of these .... waiter at age 28, tough to find work.

That being said, people with English degrees can be pretty good programmers.

Is an English degree with it?

"With it" or "worth it"?

If it's the latter, I'd say, yes.

If it's the former, I'd say, go get a degree in English so you understand.

Boaz is guilty of a typo. My concern is for the author. I hope they aren't holding an English Lit sheepskin.

They couldn't find a more articulate way of asking the headline question? My fervent hope is that they were being intentionally ironic.

It's just like liberals. To focus more on typo's than content. The American people are tired of that.

And it's going to get Trump reelected.

In a massive wave that totally obliterates that 53% who want him impeached.

One mistake you liberals make is to equate "impeached" with "removed from office".

He can be impeached, but be found not guilty in the Senate, which is what is going to happen.

Sure, I want him impeached to, just to shut up you stupid liberals.

No, we don't. You've just described what happened to Bill Clinton.

"He can be impeached, but be found not guilty in the Senate, which is what is going to happen."

As the death toll mounts in Syria due to his irresponsible and idiotic removal of our troops his odds of being removed from office rise by the day.

"And it's going to get Trump reelected."

After he caused the slaughter of the Kurds his chances of reelection evaporated.

As someone not me said, Trump's chances of removal went from bloody impossible to perceptible all in the course of a few days.

As a high school English teacher, I can't decide whether I am offended by this story or whether I can relate to this story.

When was the last time you set foot in a college classroom?

Because I'm betting you're full of schitt.

English majors are not going to get Trump reelected, moron.

And you and your twisted world view are far from representative of the American people.

Do you want to become equipped to deconstruct and criticize with the dialectic tactics of marx and his many followers? Deconstruct and criticize what? Well, everything that's been proven to work by the last several thousand years of civilization! Just because it's "traditional" doesn't mean it can't be scrambled up and perverted to the point that the problem thus caused won't need more governmental interference; your degree will position you to provide more terrible advice, and make an even bigger problem of things!

Preferred qualifications: identification with seventeen or more of the categories protected by leftists. Candidates who are neuroatypical, of a minority faith and background, or triple-trans-gendered will be given top priority. No huwhite cis males need apply. We want the next Lily Singh!
