Trump could appeal to the Supreme Court.

You better believe he is going to try to run out the clock.

"Trump could appeal to the corrupt Republican Supreme Court."

And of course, in the 2-1 ruling, the judge who voted against this, Judge Neomi Rao, was appointed by Donald Trump. It appears that her dissent was based on the outrageous argument that if there was any chance at all that one or more federal laws were broken, that this was something that could only be dealt with by the Justice Department. Basically, she argued that Congress cannot investigate a president who may be guilty of criminal behavior. Not exactly what I would call a ringing endorsement of the actions of the president.

Apparently she does not believe in the Constitution which speaks of impeachment.

Actually I read a little different assessment of Rao's dissent, basically that Congress could only perform oversight of POTUS as part of an impeachment inquiry. This is in contradiction to a 1962 SCOTUS ruling. Her fellow panelists slapped her down pretty hard.

The DC Court of Appeals is notoriously leftist.

This is highly likely to go to the Supreme Court.

Or as Danni says, "Trump could appeal to the corrupt Republican Supreme Court."

We can be sure which side Kavanaugh will be on. Payback is a bitch.

#6 but can we be sure which side Roberts will be on? Payback is a bitch and I'm sure Roberts recalls being called out by Combover Quisling. Besides, he seems to be concerned about the legacy of his court and I doubt history will look kindly on a SCOTUS that was a rubber stamp for the most criminal POTUS in history.

Roger Taney went down in history for being the Chief Justice in the Dred Scott case and is held in low regard in the sane states.

Roberts knows full well that history will remember him.

Kavanaugh will be allowed his dissent. The rest of the court? Not nearly as cut and dry as DANNI suggests.

Rao's dissent was a job application for the next SCOTUS opening. She's made it clear to Trump she'll go to bat for him no matter how embarassingly bad the argument is.

If the SCOTUS rules in Trump's favor on this issue are they not also handing him a quasi-plausible argument to ignore judicial review as well?

It will be a turning point in American history should the Supreme Court decide "You had no right to discover my wrongs!" is a valid approach to oversight of the Executive branch of government.

They've certainly been moving away from that premise for ordinary criminal defendants for a half-century now, ever since the Terry Stop was legalized.

He sure does want to share those tax returns with us! If only those pesky judges would just let him do it...
