it's Democrats pushing conspiracy theories and hoaxes, like this smear by Hillary on Tulsi -- this is why we have Donald Trump as president.

Why would it make sense?

The MSM helped spread WMD lies, along with spreading the now debunked Russiagate hoax.

So why does a baseless smear from Hillary Clinton makes sense?

Baseless smears aren't even supposed to be reported as "news" by major media outlets like CNN.

#34 | Posted by Corky at 2019-10-18 06:40 PM | Reply

The big picture: Gabbard's foreign policy stances significantly differ from other top Democratic candidates, especially on Syria. She has controversially defended Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad, and met with him on a secret trip to Syria in 2017.

The New York Times reported that alt-right internet stars, white nationalists and Russians have praised her campaign.
CNN analyst Bakari Sellers called Gabbard a "puppet for the Russian government." He said, "That's not just an allegation. I firmly believe that Tulsi Gabbard stands on that stage and is the antithesis to what the other 11 individuals stand for " specially when it comes to issues such as foreign policy."
At this week's Democratic debate, Gabbard condemned news outlets like the the Times and CNN, saying it was "completely despicable" to call her an asset to Russia.

What else Clinton said: She told Plouffe that Jill Stein, the Green Party nominee for president in 2012 and 2016, is a "Russian asset " I mean, totally."

And she said that President Trump is Russian President "Vladimir Putin's dream," implying that she believes that Russia has some sort of leverage on the president. "I don't know what Putin has on him " whether it's both personal and financial. I assume it is."

Go home with you narrative ... it wasn't a "secret trip"

"Initially I hadn't planned on meeting him," Gabbard told CNN's Jake Tapper. "When the opportunity arose to meet with him, I did so, because I felt it's important that if we profess to truly care about the Syrian people, about their suffering, then we've got to be able to meet with anyone that we need to if there is a possibility that we could achieve peace. And that's exactly what we talked about"

Answers are No, No, and No.

The Democratic Party is corrupt -- denying that is laughable on its face.

Russiagate, Muellergate, and now Ukrainegate, were all puffed up stories based on innuendo, fueled by sources most likely leaked by our intel services -- and each one has been debunked.

She already sang that tune, but with different lyrics when she claimed she was name after Sir Edmund Hillary, even though he hadn't made his claim to fame at the time she was born.

I guess this might sorta, kinda, in a roundabout way be closer to the truth, but doubtful since she was born in '47 and NASA was formed in '58. guess it depends on what a little girl is.

Let's ask Corky and see what he thinks

#68 | Posted by goatman at 2019-10-18 10:18 PM | Reply

#67 another likely hole in Hillary's tweet is that even if she wrote NASA as a little girl (youngest possible age would have been 11 YO) I find it difficult to believe at that time that NASA was answering "little girls'" questions about becoming an astronaut. It was still very much a male dominated society then and I doubt the even answered little boys of that age.

Given the times and Hillary's propensity to lying, I find her claim hard to believe.

Good thing it wasn't Trump. This site would have 18 threads about it and his lying.

She also parted my hair on the right instead of the left, and loved to run her fingers through it. Not soon after she was hired, she colored her hair auburn. Actually, no one should vote for a person (regardless of party) that doesn't ask questions and investigates why we should send our sons to their death.

But I presume you did, speaksoftly. Am I right? It sounds like you voted for the party who stupidly believed what they were told and sent our sons to die in Iraq.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Question: Have I ever said Russia didn't mess with the 2016 election?

#63 | Posted by PinchALoaf

Russia didn't just MESS WITH the election. Russia is funding the republican party to the point that they wont defend our country now. Repubs wont pass bills to protect our elections. Putin owns and control the president. Just because the mueller investigation (which was blocked and thwarted at every turn) didn't prove it doesn't mean it's not obvious. The one consistent thing about trump is doing whatever putin wants.

Again - how did rex tillerson end up as secretary of state?

Saying that russiagate turned out to be a hoax makes you look as dumb as every other fox watching moron.

Exxon Oil douchebag Rex Tillerson had business deals in Russia -- it took me 2 seconds to remind myself of that. If you want to show me a formal Tillerson-Putin-Trump threesome that qualifies as a conspiracy, then be my guest (but lemme get my vomit bag first).

Jaghoff Rudy is probably up to no good with those two guys, nothing surprises me anymore.

The NRA money from Russia is certainly plausible because of the oceans of Dark Money unleashed by Citizens United -- you do realize the the Democratic Party also receives Dark Money by the tonnage, right?

And last but not least, there was no evidence that Trump conspired with Putin -- aka, Russiagate was a hoax.

I just covered everything you're mistakenly getting yourself all worked up about -- yes, Trump is corrupt and Republicans are lying and stealing garbage. And the Democratic Party, along with Bill and Hillary, are right there in their own effort in trying to keep up.

And what is it that you think I expect?

Both political parties blow chunks.

The Republican Party = party of the 1% = The Plutocrats

The Democratic Party = party of the 10% = The Professional-class

Liberal author Thomas Frank is coming out with his new book titled, 'The People, No: The War on Populism and the Fight for Democracy'.

From the prophetic author of the now-classic What's the Matter with Kansas? and Listen, Liberal, an eye-opening account of populism, the most important -- and misunderstood -- movement of our time.

Rarely does a work of history contain startling implications for the present, but in The People, No Thomas Frank pulls off that explosive effect by showing us that everything we think we know about populism is wrong.

Today "populism" is seen as a frightening thing, a term pundits use to describe the racist philosophy of Donald Trump and European extremists. But this is a mistake.

The real story of populism is an account of enlightenment and liberation; it is the story of American democracy itself, of its ever-widening promise of a decent life for all.

Taking us from the tumultuous 1890s, when the radical left-wing Populist Party -- the biggest mass movement in American history -- fought Gilded Age plutocrats to the reformers' great triumphs under Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman, Frank reminds us how much we owe to the populist ethos.

Frank also shows that elitist groups have reliably detested populism, lashing out at working-class concerns. The anti-populist vituperations by the Washington centrists of today are only the latest expression.

Frank pummels the elites, revisits the movement's provocative politics, and declares true populism to be the language of promise and optimism.

The People, No is a ringing affirmation of a movement that, Frank shows us, is not the problem of our times, but the solution for what ails us.

Ripping Republicans for their corruption is as easy as calling Trump orange -- and it's going to be fairly amusing to watch you twist yourself into pretzels defending the next round of corruption from Democrats, and the eventual next round after that.

Okay, you're not using your noodle.

I expect from my government (at all levels -- city, state, federal) to provide basic services, community structure, and freedoms that DOESN'T leave MY community with ...

- entire areas and regions devastated by poverty
- obsolete and broken infrastructure
- without universal healthcare
- an invasive surveillance state
- legalized and codified discrimination

I'm guessing that we agree that the Republican Party is not going to champion these basic things.

So what about the Democratic Party?

When are Democrats going to advocate and fight for these things?

Democrats will go to the ramparts to thwart Republicans when it comes to bigotry and racism, but that's it -- everything else is viewed with apathetic contempt by the Democratic Party and their rich donors, just like the GOP and their rich party donors.

Yeah, cus no Democrats are talking about M4All. The only progress this nation ever made in the last 100 years came from Democrats whether or not you are honest enough to recognize that fact but Bernie does. Democrats recognize one important fact, you can't create progress if you don't win and it takes a big tent party to win. The Democratic Party is the "big tent." We have people who disagree about many things in our tent but we have a very big tent so that we can accomplish very big things. Folks like Pinch stay outside and whine but accomplish nothing. Dome into the tent Pinch and help us accomplish things, you ego will suffer slightly but your life and your kids lives will be better.

Just think about what Clinton is suggesting here. Gabbard has top secret security clearance to be a member of the committees she is on. Add that to her active military service and she's the most vetted person running. If Clinton knows something nobody else knows and she first makes that known publicly she should be explicit about what she means and be able to prove how alternative explanations are clearly invalid. What she's doing is despicable. Especially when the implying that the departments who have been responsible for getting her are incompetent.

Hillary had 3 million more votes than Trump.

Trump, a political novice, beat Hillary by out campaigning her in areas of the country (Midwest) that Democrats have long chosen to dismiss and actually hold in contempt.

That's the answer.

"What she's doing is despicable."

She is telling us what she thinks, I am grateful for that. Gabbard is frustrated because she isn't a top runner in the effort to win the nomination, she has issues that most Democrats, like me, aren't completely comfortable with.
The Russians would love for her to run third party because it would hobble the Democratic nominee, sorry but when any candidate does that, like Ralph Nader, they lose my respect forever. When their ego is more important than the progress in our nation they are dead to me. I do, to this day, turn off my radio whenever Ralph Nader is interviewed. I detest him and every Democrat since who has gone third party. Either win the nomination or support the nominee, that's how we got things like SS and Medicare. Egos are not beneficial to the people of our nation. Gabbard is an ego and if she is getting help from Russia.....you tell me what that means about her.

Baloney. He won because Republicans are much better at disenfranchising people, taking their right to vote away even though they were legitimate voters. They were quite proud of their abilities to do it. It is a proven fact that Interstate Crosscheck disqualified more voters than the margins of victory in the three states that allowed Trump wo win in the Electoral College. That's just a fact.

The facts are that Trump offered fake populism and Hillary offered nothing new, despite America being the richest country ever with half the population being poor -- and Hillary choosing NOT to advocate for anything new to address that situation is what Democrats actually stand for.

Republicans use the culture wars to not talk about economic issues that matter.

Democrats don't offer anything to help voters economically but go all out on culture issues.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Thomas Frank : "Trump won because Clinton and the Democrats dismissed the concerns of working people"
youtu.be
[11:42]

In his latest book, "Listen, Liberal : Or, What Ever Happened to the Party of the People ?", just released in France '"Pourquoi les riches votent gauche" (d. Agone), Thomas Frank explains how Hillary Clinton and the Democrats lost the 2016 presidential election.

"Decades ago, the Democratic Party decided that thy did not want to be the party of the working class any longer". Thomas Frank calls them the "professionals", they are white, rich, they have all studied in the best universities.

They are very liberal on social issues, but very conservative and not as ease with the issues of inequality, incomes, etc

"The Democrats, in the course of my lifetime, have become a party that is uncomfortable with discontent, with class-based anger. They don't like to talk about it. It makes them uncomfortable. Whenever they hear it, they try to get around it, they try to throw roadblocks in front, cognitive roadblocks, they don't want to think about it", according to Thomas Frank in this interview for the French newsmagazine "L'Obs".

These Democrats want to be the party of a different class: the "creative" or "the winners".

The democratic party and Clinton thought that the working class had "nowhere else to go", according to Frank.

But they actually did vote for Trump....

The xenophobes, the evangelicals, the racists, the homophobes...you're going to find most of those qualities in Working class communities, especially those that are far removed from any sort of diversity. Progressives think that they can appeal to that demographic writ large by offering a bunch of free stuff that many of them don't have any interest in.

And they appear to be fully aware that the free stuff would come with a bunch of extra baggage in the form of social policies that many of them would strongly disagree with.
