About two dozen Republicans subsequently "stormed" a secure hearing room, reports CNN's Manu Raju, and they reportedly carried prohibited electronics. This delayed the testimony of Defense Department official Laura Cooper.

The Republicans must be getting very concerned about the actions of Pres Trump, that they resort to such tactics to try to delay the testimony.

Maybe if they want to know what is being said in those hearings the best way might be for the Republicans NOT TO LEAVE the hearings.

This is little more that theatrics by the Republicans.

Shameful theatrics.

There are Republicans in the hearing room who get equal time for questions. This is beyond a stunt - it's an attempt to lie about the actual process to advance a narrative based on that lie, that this is all being done "in secret" by the Dems.

Instead of the theatrics, and the possible resulting punishment, why didn't they just ask their fellow Republicans who are in the meetings to stay in the meetings and not leave?

I'm thinking that the Republicans are so concerned with the evidence being presented (probably because they are unable to offer any manner of credible comments in support of Pres Trump on the issue) that they now are trying to disrupt the process.

Judge tells State Dept. to begin producing Ukraine records
www.apnews.com

...A judge on Wednesday ordered the State Department to begin producing within 30 days documents related to the Trump administration's dealings with Ukraine, saying the records were of obvious public interest.

The documents were sought under a Freedom of Information Act request by American Oversight, an ethics watchdog that investigates the administration. Any release of government documents could shed new light on President Donald Trump's efforts to prod his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden, the matter at the heart of the Democrat-led House impeachment inquiry.

"These records concern a matter of immense public importance," Daniel McGrath, a lawyer for American Oversight, said during arguments in Washington's federal court. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper said he agreed....

This "stunt" had everything to do with Trump! The did this for Trump. Trump had whined that the GOP wasn't standing up for him in this whole impeachment hoax.

They should all be censored at the very least. I'd recommend full expulsion if it didn't require 2/3 vote from the full House. The brought phones and electronic devices into a SCIF. The disrupted/obstructed an investigation.

For one thing, Taylor is a "him". You are thinking about Cooper as the "her", but she didn't get to testify because of the GOP "sit-in" in the SDIC.

And if you can't cite any specific examples, it makes it sound like you are just a Trump sycophant chugging down the conservative propaganda without doing any critical thinking of your own about what they are spoon-feeding you.

47 House Republicans are eligible to sit in these closed depositions and are allowed time to ask questions equally with their Democratic colleagues per House rules.

Many of those members participated in yesterday's SCIF stunt even though they were already entitled to be in the room.

47 is nearly 1/4 of the entire House GOP contingent.

The GOP is once again playing upon the institutional ignorance of their own supporters with full knowledge of their own use of identical practices during the evidentiary finding phase of their Benghazi hearings, led by Trey Gowdy, just a few years ago.

#51 - Exactly right, Tony. Proof that this was nothing but a photo opp.

www.washingtonpost.com

FTA:
According to a news release sent from Gaetz's office that was spotted by journalist Marcy Wheeler, 41 Republicans joined Gaetz's sit-in protest Wednesday. Of that group, more than a quarter " 13 " were members of the three relevant committees and, therefore, allowed to attend the hearings!

(Why do dashes become quote marks on the DR now?)

#53 | Posted by YAV at 2019-10-24 10:23 AM | Reply

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think several Republican states passed laws that now allow us to run over Republican Legislators when they perpetrate illegal protests In the People's House.

Thats how those laws work, right?

Did you know that when the POUTS and lawmakers come together and plan to break U.S. Congressional security laws, and then, proceed to break laws, as a coordinated group effort, it is defined as Conspiracy Against the United States Government?

Sargent at arms, please run over these law breakers.

I'm pretty sure an illegal conspiracy to prevent or hinder an Official Congressional Investigation will likely be in its self, and on it's face, proof of Obstruction of Justice.

And of course, an impeachable offense.

Humpy should have thought of all that before he decided to Obstruct Congress and abuse the power of the Presidency for his own personal gain.

The "process" is a following Constitutional procedures. Do you not support and defend our constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic?

Especially domestic?

47 Republicans on the committees leading the investigation have access to the closed-door depositions.

Once again Republicans have made a total mess of our government and the Dems will have to pull the government out of the ditch clean it up and fix the broken and wrecked machinery and get it back onto the road again.
