It's time for the dotard to stage another photo-op with a toddler who caught some lead.

Wishful thinking in the headline. The 2nd Amendment, just like the 2 party system, are here to stay, to the overall detriment of our populace.

#1 Last time I heard it was 31 in one weekend in Chicago. Blow it out your ass. I know you want my guns so I can't defend myself.

94% of gun crimes are commited with handguns. 86% of those guns are stolen.

How did it work out for Honduras or Mexico?

Same reason they beat up gays, punish trans-gendered, harass Muslims, steal brown children and put em in cages, call the cops on Black folks for being on their own property.

They think it is 'owning' libs.

Winning.

Gee governor Abbott, who woulda thought making it easier and easier to obtain guns would end like this?

Texas law related to obtaining guns has not been made easier under Abbott nor Goodhair. State law lines up with federal law and has been that way for decades.

So let's take this at face value for a second.

If no one owned guns, where would they steal them from?

Everywhere. The Sheriff of Waller County had 9 machine guns stolen out of his SUV while dining with a group of sheriffs at Applebees. Mexican gunsmiths produce AR lowers in bulk, easier to smuggle than drugs. A guy in Chiraq turned out with a US Army AT4 missile launcher.

Also, on the OP, somebody shot up the vigil too.

Link? I can't find anywhere that comes even close to 80% (94% * 86%) of gun crimes being committed with stolen guns.

Seems like the kind of "statistic" a conservative would make up.

I expect that once people begin to realize that this was predominantly a party attended by hip-hop artists and good ol' southern boys named 'Lil Wess' that it will quickly disappear from discussion. For reasons.

www.dallasnews.com

There was another shooting at the memorial for one of the victims:
Family members take a moment before releasing balloons during a vigil for Kevin Berry Jr. on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at St. Augustine Park in Dallas. Kevin Berry Jr., whose nickname was Lil Wess, was one of the victims killed early Sunday morning when a gunman opened fire at a paerty* near Greenville, Texas.

The shooting took place just minutes before Houston-based hip-hop artist BeatKing was scheduled to perform at the party.
The rapper tweeted early Sunday that seeing video of the shooting "makes my heart drop.

"The Sheriff of Waller County had 9 machine guns stolen out of his SUV while dining with a group of sheriffs at Applebees"

Why is the sheriff running around with 9 machine guns in the back of his car and why is he leaving them un-guarded in an SUV while he eats in an Applebees. Doesn't sound like he should have that job.

The fact that guns *could* be manufactured illegally doesn't have anything to do with the 86% stolen figure.

His resume is impeccable, and he gets elected time and time again, by a landslide. Degrees, awards, he's as qualified to be a Sheriff as Hillary Clinton is to be President.

He's also the Sheriff of the jail where Sandra Bland killed herself. He had all the machine guns to protect himself from death threats related to that.

According to the NRA, this is impossible.

Texas has lots of guns. So why would anyone shoot people knowing the other people likely have guns?

So three guys with baseball bats and box cutters break into your home. Are you sure your baseball bat skills are up to snuff.

Oh, but at least it will just you and your family maimed and killed, not 20 innocent people. Actually happens every day but such killings barely make the local paper, much less the national news. People saving themselves from such attacks with a gun do not make the news either.

Democrats aren't going after machine guns. They're going after semi-automatic carbines, but only the ones that look scary, not the older ones that do the exact same thing with the exact same bullets.

Machine guns are an appreciating investment for the donor class. They'll always be around.

#40 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2019-10-29 01:41 PM | Reply

#40 | Posted by sitzkrieg I could own a machine gun, I could qualify for a Class III dealers license which is what is required. But it takes about a year with a extensive background investigation. It costs more than 1000 bucks. You also can be inspected and have to produce these weapons on demand by the ATF at any time. It isn't worth the investment or the trouble. Anyone can convert a magazine fed semi-automatic rifle to fully automatic in about 10 minutes. After qualifying with machine guns in the army and firing automatic with a M16, I am not interested. You can not hit a target you aim at after the third round. Recoil and the weight of the weapon will not allow you to stay on target. Additionally modifying the firing mechanism of any firearm will get you a three year sentence in a federal prison.
