August 1, 2019, remarks from Trump concerning a phone call the U.S. President had with Vladimir Putin:: I spoke with President Putin of Russia yesterday. They're having massive fires in the -- in their forests. They have tremendous -- I've never seen anything like it. It's very big. I just offered our assistance because we're very good at putting out forest fires, frankly. And if they should need it, I offered our assistance. We had a good talk -- a short talk but a good talk. And I think he appreciated it. So we would be able to help them. It's -- these are massive fires like I haven't seen. That was the primary importance of the conversation. And I think they -- I think they very much appreciated it.

It's incredibly ironic that Republicans support this Russia asz kissing president. Especially considering how anti-communist they were during the Cold War, and Putin, former head of the KGB, still up to Soviet-style attempts to disrupt democracies.

It helps understanding why the plank criticizing Russia for invading Crimea was removed .. and so much more, most recently attempts by Trump via Giuliani to pin the blame for 2016 election meddling on the Ukraine.

The GOP base would support Stalin or Castro if he promised to stick a finger in the eye of libruls.

Trump is punishing California for not loving him. He punishes everyone for not loving him, or not loving him enough.

No one should be mystified at Trump's personality or behavior. The man is broken in a particular kind of way. People with bad mental illness are the most predictable of human beings.

What? No Nulli rushing in to kick California while she is down?

The Troll is slipping.

Humpy could have at least came and ogled at the destruction and ask stupid questions.

Like.

Is that your disaster? Or it become your disaster?

And he could have thrown some paper towels at us. People in disasters crave paper towels and just love it when someone throws things at the them like a king showering gifts on his peasants or a farmer feeding the chickens.

And really ... If only we had rakes in California we would be just fine.

California should divert some of the money they're wasting on a high-speed trains to nowhere to brush removal.

@#1 ... WTF is it with this guy? He LOVES Russia and craps on the U.S. ...

The t-shirt worn by some Trump supporters at his rallies explains a lot. The t-shirt says, "I'd rather be Russian than a Democrat." Found an image: twitter.com

But to your point, there does seem to be way too much strangeness involving Pres Trump, those in his campaign and administration, with regard to Russia.

I've not yet seen any rationale explanation of why that strangeness happens, aside from the Putin blackmail aspect. And I really, really don't want to think that the President of the United States is being blackmailed by Russia. Unfortunately, as time goes by and evidence is uncovered, that explanation becomes more and more likely, and the abject lack of any other explanation becomes more prominent.

I see BLM/FS fire trucks at California fires ...

Where does it say California isn't being helped by the Federal Government?

BLM has over 350 fire fighters engaged across the state.

Yeah that you are a trout.

Yeah, but having your honeymoon in Russia, pressing the "RESET" ("overload") button, giving speeches at $500K a pop, and selling uranium companies is pretty standard though... am I right?

Trout?

... Yeah, but having your honeymoon in Russia, pressing the "RESET" ("overload") button, giving speeches at $500K a pop, and selling uranium companies is pretty standard though... am I right? ...

The RESET button mess was about trying to have better relations with Russia in an overt manner, not by giving Russia private polling data, or other secretive back-channel dealings.

The uranium thing was tey another debunked right-wing conspiracy theory.

The speaking fees (most were her husband's speeches after he had left office) were properly disclosed in her financial disclosure forms.

So, what's yer point? besides deflection, that is.

"BLM has over 350 fire fighters engaged across the state."

So they are getting married. Good for them! Gratz to them all!

California girls ARE the best!

But more importantly do them BLMers have any rakes??

If they do how come they are not raking??

If only they knew how to rake BEFORE the fires burnt down the place this wouldn't happen.

Now.

Build that wall...

in Colorado !!

FEDERAL Land. It's up to the Feds to manage it including brush removal. Problem is they keep defunding the BLM and other areas that conservatives don't like.

Galaxiepete, congress controls the budget and it hasn't been a priority for Grey Goose Nancy. If not for big city environmentalists logging companies would clear out excess brush and trees for free.

You don't see BLM trucks at the current fires simply because they are not Federal Forests. Visitor claims that if we give all those loggers rakes they can clear the forest of brush. Loggers don't remove the slash from logging. Up in the northern forests they usually pile it up and burn it. Here in California the slash is usually smashed back into the soil with bulldozers. Sometimes they will chip it up but that is not very efficient when you take into account of how much fuel is needed for using that kind of machinery.

Trump Offered Firefighting Help to Russia But Not California

Dem presidential candidates should call out the republican senators and reps from red states that are prone to routine natural disasters and remind them that the next dem POTUS will have a long memory.

For Visitor, you were posting about forest management, Until the eighties in the North West the US forestry department and private forest companies would use herbicides to control growth of broad leaf plants on the forest floor and then usually use a controlled burn to remove the dead plants. There is all kinds of problems indiscriminately spraying herbicides in forests when you consider 85% of our drinking water in California is from run off in conifer forests. There is the problem of human contact from overspray or those using US forests for recreational activities, think Agent Orange. It proved impossible to notify citizens around areas where the spraying was to take place.
This activity still occurs in hardwood forests which are usually East of the mississippi, using a broad spectrum of herbicides to control undergrowth. Hope this helps regarding forest management.

Maybe we should remind them and you that Democratic Presidents always becomes President of ALL Americans when he takes the Oath to become President.

He is not just President of Democrats.

This President thinks he is only responsible to the folks who voted for him.

No Democratic President has acted this way.

That is not how our Democratic Republic works.

The President is supposed to President of America.

Not the President of the Deplorables.

And any President that claims the part of the Constitution he doesn't agree with is "phony" and just violated his oath of office by violating the Constitution he swore to protect and should resign.

This President has no desire to protect the Constitution. Why would he want to do that? It is preventing him for going into full Trumpster mode.

Trump gets more electoral college votes from the State of Russia than California provides.

You would think Democrats learned that. It's fly over country that matters.

To get from California to NY, you have to fly west over the country to reach the voters.

There needs to be consequences to bad behavior. Other wise, bad actors benefit when they act out and when their successors forgive those bad acts. What lesson does that teach other than its good to be bad?
