Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, November 05, 2019

On Monday night's episode of "Dancing With the Stars," judge Len Goodman looked like he finally was out of patience with Sean Spicer. "We keep throwing you out the boat and the viewers keep throwing a life preserver," he wearily told Spicer after his less-than-stellar jazz routine to Styx's "Come Sail Away," adding that the mermaid (one of the characters onstage during his nautical-themed performance) "had better footwork" than Spicer.

Indeed, Spicer has earned some of the worst scores from the judges over the past 8 weeks; he has been ranked last for the past four consecutive weeks. Yet he shows no sign of being voted off the show.

As evidenced by the outrage on social media, Spicer's survival week after week has the Left up in arms. While Goodman suggested fans were voting for him because they like rooting for an underdog, social media is also filled with people boasting they are voting for him to anger liberals and critics, and urging others to do the same.

I watched a Youtube clip of one of his routines, and he is terrible, so the judges have it right. This may be the end of audience votes on these types of shows if Spicer continues to survive over obviously better contestants.

Sean Spicer is man utterly devoid of personal pride.

ROC, this is the same behavior I see towards Trump. Conservatives are literally willing to ignore how bad of a POTUS he is simply to own the libs. They never would put up with this crap from a Democrat but because he is on their team they are giving the green light.

I don't disagree, but it cuts both ways...if this was Jay Carney the roles would be reversed.

This is always the risk when a show has the fans vote. Wouldn't be surprised if he wins the whole thing.

#5 | Posted by JeffJ at 2019-11-05 05:11 PM | Reply

I have a hard time believing that if a Democrat had done what Trump has that the Dems would hold the line the way that Repubs are. Dems turned on Franken for less and there were Dems that voted for the impeachment inquiry of Bill Clinton. No, I find that I completely disagree with you on this.

I dont pretend to speak for the libs, but I doubt they are upset about Spicer prancing around making a fool of himself on a stupid TV show.

Spicer stays alive on DWTS', the Left is pissed

RoC,

Wanted to point out how "the Left is pissed", is a good example of "Broad Brushing".

Carry on.

When #DWTS is no longer a dance competition, but a political joke for Republicans who don't even watch the show to laugh each week when Sean Spicer keeps getting through even though he cannot dance.

I think there are a good number of people who loathe Trump but find Spicer endearing and actually feel sorry for him somehow.

I'm just glad i don't watch this garbage.

However, I am man enough not to deny it.

Not surprising. The Left politicizes...everything. They are scorpions; it's in their nature.

Actually, if you've seen him, his survival week after week should leave dance fans up in arms. He sucks.

Nope, Democrats are consistent on eliminating people from the party.

Al Franken, Anthony Weiner, John Conyers, Elizabeth Esty, Ruben Kihuen, most recently, Katie Hill.

Most, if not all of them, would have kept their jobs had they been Republicans.

Clown,'

Conyers? How many decades did Dems look the other way with him?

#19 | Posted by JeffJ at 2019-11-05 06:18 PM | Reply

Ah, there you are Jeff. No surprise you would be here to chirp 'the parties are the same', continue to throw dust and pretend not to support Trump while clearly doing so, and vote GOP every time to enable this behavior... You've sorely disappointed me because I fell for your moderate BS, you sir are not remotely unbiased.

Idaho,

This has nothing to do with Trump.

I'm calling BS on Clown's claim. That is all. He's pretending the Dems are so virtuous when they clearly aren't Obviously, the GOP isn't virtuous when it comes to this.

#21 | Posted by JeffJ at 2019-11-05 06:36 PM | Reply

"He's pretending the Dems are so virtuous when they clearly aren't "

No, he was just speaking comparatively. There is NO equivalence when Franken is gone, while Trump is President.

#22 | Posted by Danforth at 2019-11-05 06:38 PM | Reply

I don't watch the show nor vote for anyone on it but he'll likely survive the next two weeks because the media seems bent to fawn over service members for Veterans Day / salute to service / Veterans month (in the NFL), so Spicer will get a lifesaver for the dog n pony show.

Extra points if he does a routine to "In The Navy" - The Village People.

#24 | Posted by JeffJ at 2019-11-05 07:05 PM | Reply

The Frankenstein stuff came out well after he was elected. His resignation (he wasn't forced out) came at a time when his vacant seat would safely go to another Dem. he was expendable. Fairfax in VA is not thus no calls for him to step down. Also, most of the lurid Trump stuff was well known before he was elected.

Ever wonder why a supposedly impartial media didn't release the access Hollywood tape during the primary?

Your reading comprehension has been abysmal today.

JustAGirl never said this has to do with Trump. She said, "...this is the same behavior I see towards Trump."

She was clearly responding to RoC's claim that Spicer is still in the competition just to annoy liberals.

It's akin to Republicans supporting Trump just to annoy liberals.

I'm calling BS on Clown's claim. He's pretending the Dems are so virtuous when they clearly aren't

Feel free to provide some facts to dispute my claim.

#30 | Posted by fresno500 at 2019-11-05 09:15 PM | Reply

I happened to watch the show, Spicer sucked and even the judges made snarky comments when he wasn't cut. The other couple that was cut were far better dancers and the audience, the judges and us folks at home recognized it completely. I never watched the show before and I doubt I ever will again. Spicer, if he had any class, would have just disqualified himself, he knew he sucked.

#31 | Posted by danni at 2019-11-07 08:33 AM | Reply

It would be absolutely hilarious if Spicer wins the whole thing, claims he doesn't deserve the award because others were actually better and then gives the award to Trump in honor of all of his graceful moves as POTUS.
