Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, November 10, 2019

As the SubContinent was divided into India and Pakistan, and the Punjab province was divided into two, the holiest Sikh places mostly fell into Pakistan. In fact, the holiest place... "Kartarpur".. was just 4km inside Pakistan's borders. This was the birthplace of the Sikh faith's founder and they could only look at it with binoculars from inside India. However, today, Pakistan installed a corridor 4km into Pak territory so any Sikh can just walk in and worship at what is their equal of Mecca. No questions asked, no passport needed. Come and go as you please.

Pakistan built the largest Sikh temple in the world in 10 months. Meanwhile, the Hindu Fundamentalist govt of India dragged it's feet all it could, trying to NOT make this happen. But because India depends on the Sikh people for transport, agriculture and military, they were forced to say yes... or face riots again.

Sikh pilgrims turn tourists

tribune.com.pk

Sikh pilgrims, arriving in droves to Pakistan to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Devji, have been taking in the sights of the historical city of Lahore.

Staying true to the famous Punjabi quote, those who haven't seen Lahore, haven't seen anything', the pilgrims are touring sites and shopping for dry fruits in old city markets, while soaking in the atmosphere and hospitality of the people of Lahore.

Countries are rarely this accommodating.

Only Pakistan has been this accommodating. It was a Pakistani idea alone.

India tried it's best, dragging it's feet all the way, not to let this happen. They even closed the gate on their side of the border, making the pilgrims walk a longer route.

But they couldn't stop this because these Sikhs can riot like you wouldn't believe. So they were afraid too. LOL

This move has given Pakistan immense "soft power" over India.

If the Sikhs go AWOL from the Indian Army when most needed... who is going to fight for India? The Hindus can't fight because of their caste system.... only the Kshatriya or Brahmin are promoted to officers. So they depend on the Sikhs and the Gurkas for much of the fighting.

What I find funny is that just this Feb 27, Pakistan was ready to nuke India. LOL

This guy
