Julia Davis: As Russia's state media watch impeachment proceedings against U.S. President Donald J. Trump they're loving what they see. They don't think the man they brag about getting elected is in much danger. They listen in delight as Republicans parrot conspiracy theories first launched by Russians.

Like I've said in the past the (R) behind a politicians name no longer mean Republican, it now stands for Russia.

As I wrote earlier today ( drudge.com )

There is so much that is odd regarding Pres Trump and Ukraine. On some occasions, it appears as if he is doing Pres Putin's bidding.

Reading through the October 30, 2019 testimony of Christopher Anderson, I see the following:

P.14
0n November 25th, 20t8, Russia escalated the conflict further when its forces openly attacked and seized Ukrainian military vessels heading to a Ukrainian port in the Sea of Azov. While my colleagues at the State Department quickly prepared a statement condemning Russia for its escalation, senior officials in the White House blocked it from being issued.

P.35,36
There was a CNN stony which said that -- and I don't remember seeing the news report, but that referenced this freedom-of-navigation operation into the Black Sea and made it seem as if this were a direct response to Russia and that it was a challenge to Russia.

Now, I don't know -- the news report seemed to be, in my understanding, exaggerating the situation, because all the Navy had done was file a standard notification under the Montreux Convention that they were planning to transit into the Black Sea.

Q And how do you know that the President was not pleased with this report?

A Ambassador Bolton relayed that he was called at home by the President, who complained about this news report.

So the State Department prepared a statement condemning Russia for escalating the aggression against Ukraine, and Pres Trump's White House prevented the State Department from issuing the statement in support of an ally. Instead opting not to criticize Russia, an enemy.

Also Pres Trump seemed angered by our Navy's freedom-of-navigation show of strength against Russia.

Why does Pres Trump always seem so anxious to placate, even assist, Pres Putin?

The vast majority of Russians do not care about politics at all. This type of broad brush painting is dumb, just like when some people in other countries blame internal problems on "Americans" or some other outsider.

@#3 ... This type of broad brush painting is dumb ...

What is broad brush painting about saying "Russian state media"?

Both the headline and the embedded tweet refer to Russians, not the state media. And of course there's the lovely stereotype about the Russian bear.

@#5 ...Both the headline and the embedded tweet refer to Russians, not the state media....

The summary refers to Russian state media. The tweet is just a headline, simplified.

But that begs the question... do you really get your information solely from tweets? Really?

All that posturing aside, and back to the topic at hand...

What do you think about Russian State Media being happy?

What do you thing about what I said in #2?

Thanks for the pointless information, comrade.

Perhaps address the topic of the thread.

Why do Trump's international policy decisions benefit Russia?

It will be interesting if we ever find out what hold the Russians have on Trump. Is it the pee tapes? Trump would be proud of them. It's probably something financial.

"What do you think about Russian State Media being happy?"

I hope they are drinking responsibly. Or at least Wisconsibly.

"State Media", Russian or otherwise, implies that it's propaganda, so beyond that why should I care about the emotional state of what I already know is propaganda?

"What do you thing about what I said in #2?"

I think that Trump probably has some corrupt business dealings with people in Putin's government. Most likely he shifted it to his family/foundation after he became President, but is covering for them so they can maintain the business relationships.

"Perhaps address the topic of the thread."

Well excuse me for being a grammar nerd, but since the subject of the thread is "Russians" that makes it the topic. OP could have used "Russia" like the headline of the actual article, but the embedded tweet is still problematic.

"Why do Trump's international policy decisions benefit Russia?"

Most likely because they benefit him personally, even if only indirectly.

"Is it the pee tapes?"

This is most likely disinformation. If such an event actually occurred, video footage would most likely have "leaked" by now. So it was put out there for the purpose of calling anyone who mentions it (and anyone vaguely associated with them) a purveyor of fake news.

Well, yes and no.

State media does not imply, it means, that is what Pres Putin is thinking.

The phrase "state media" is very significant in dictatorial states such as Russia. It means that is what our Leader is thinking.

In the US, look to Fox News primetime, or Breibart for a similar, though not yet comparable, example. (emphasis upon "yet.")

In the history books this will be noted as the probably the cheapest and most successful attack on America in history. And the President of the United States hasn't even admitted it happened yet. We will be feeling the effects for decades.

Now that is not only sad.

It's terrifying.

Look at all of Pootins Puppies. Still parroting his propaganda for him. Right here.

Right now. Look They still act like it didn't happen. And they joke about it just like Putin does. My question to them is have you even noticed yet how your positions always seem to align so nicely with Putin's and Moscow?

It has been said that ALL roads lead to Putin with this President.

I know. And that's how he has ALWAYS done it and I should get over it.

But I will not ever get over it.

NEVER.

The accusation is that the Kremlin has the tapes. So, why do you think it would have leaked? Last I checked, the Kremlin was not populated by Republicans (as the current White House is, which leaks like a sieve). Only in an environment as morally corrupt as a Republican administration could you take the lack of a leak as "proof" that something doesn't exist. Try to understand things beyond your own personal bubble.

There's a back story to all of this. When Trump was holding Ms. Universe in Vegas before it was in Moscow, some of the Russians were there with him. They all ended up at a high end strip club (for which photos exist, Google it) which featured two dancers doing a simulated "shower" scene on stage. Evidently, Trump really like it and the Russians noted this. So when he went to Moscow for Ms. Universe, supposedly they got some Russian girls to stage a scene for Trump to view (not to participate in) in the same bed that Obama had slept in when he was on a state visit. A twofer in Trump's view I'm sure.

Whinging about Russian propaganda in a thread with an article that was written by Julia Davis, who is The Atlantic Council's Alex Jones, is peak Russiagate. The lack of self awareness never ceases to amaze.

I'm noticing that Sentinel's posts are getting less response than ever before. It's as if he is plonked without being plonked because his posts are such nonsense that no one even bothers with them any more.

Nah, since her separation, she moved down to Cheee-ca-go. Better prospects down there than in Anchorage.
