Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Monday that the U.S. is softening its position on Israeli settlements in the West Bank, the latest in a series of Trump administration moves that weaken Palestinian claims to statehood. Pompeo said the Trump administration will be reversing the previous government's "approach" on the settlements issue and returning to a version of the Reagan policy of the 1980s, which is likely to anger Palestinians and put the U.S. at odds with other nations working to end the conflict.

The Palestinians and most of the world say the settlements undermine hopes for a two-state solution by gobbling up land sought by the Palestinians. It is unclear what further consequences this will have on the administration's oft-promised peace plan, which is unlikely to gather much-needed international support by endorsing a position contrary to the global consensus.

Trump should cut to the chase and murder all the Palestinians.

You think that's why Donald Trump behaves like an irate petulant moron?

Because Obama was grace under fire?

It's all he can do. Undo XOs with more XOs. Even though he thought governing with XOs was weak. How many has he done now? Think I'll look that up.

He'll be a hero once he passes his perfect, beautiful, health care law.

133. Less than half of President Obama. He's got work to do.

Obama was in office for 8 years, Trump 3.

Per the chart included in the link posted by LOSTANGELES, during the period in which Trump issued 130 executive orders, and for the equivalent time period, President Obama issued only 108.

Well, it's definitely a tactic that garners more hate than what Obama did, which was to approve and extend most of W's policies and take credit for them. On one hand we have a party that makes changes based on bad morals and then on the other hand we have a party that doesn't make changes but takes credit for the changes made on bad morals.

The saddest part is that not one President has made a change that has significantly altered this conflict. The fight rages on regardless whether it was during W, Obama, or Trump. It's been going on for a couple millennia in one form or another and nothing anyone does changes that. There is no moral victory that can be taken by ANY side of politics.

The United States should not condone ethnic cleansing, which is what the settlements are.

He's done it in 2 years to Obama's 8. Not very good at math are you? He's doing them twice as often as Obama

Nope. It's Israel building on land won when 5 Muslim nations attacked them and tried to wipe them off the map.

They are still illegal under international law as well as UNSC Res 242.

Answer me this Laura..

Was it illegal for five muslim nations to attack Israel?

This Israel thing blows my mind still.

It's like both the left and the right pretend we didn't forcefully move the arabs living there and give it to the European Jews. Less than 100 years ago
Because their religious books said they used to live there thousands of years ago, and it is God's plan for them to return.

The argumwnt over the existence of Israel as a European Jewish state should end right there.

Israel drew first blood slick. They were the invaders.

Israel reiterated its post-1956 position that the closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping would be a cause for war (a casus belli). In May Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser announced that the straits would be closed to Israeli vessels and then mobilised its Egyptian forces along its border with Israel. On 5 June, Israel launched what it claimed were a series of preemptive airstrikes against Egyptian airfields.

The Muslims were taking action against Israel. I dont blame them. The Muslims were about to attack Israel. Israel defended itself. The Muslims have been trying to bully Israel for 60 years.

"The Muslims have been trying to bully Israel for 60 years."

Israel didn't side with us in WWII.

Why should we treat them any different than the Kurds?

Israel wants to wipe the non-Jews off the map "From the river to the sea."

Funny how it's bad when Muslims try to wipe Jews off the map, but it's good when Jews try to wipe Muslims off the map.

Snoofy, I am not an apologist for Israeli aggression, but let's be honest. It has never been the policy of Israel, stated or unstated "to wipe Muslims off the map". That is just inflammatory hyperbole on your part.

Boaz, how you likin' Sondland's testimony this morning? I trust you have the honesty and the functioning brain cells to understand the import of what he is saying under oath.
