Army Defends Lt. Col. Vindman Days after His Commander-in-Chief Called Him a 'Never Trumper'
www.military.com

..."Lt. Col. Vindman, who has served this country honorably for 20+ years, is fully supported by the Army like every soldier, having earned a Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq in 2004," Matt Leonard, an Army spokesperson, told Task & Purpose.

"As his career assignments reflect, Lt. Col. Vindman has a long history of selfless service to his country, including combat. Lt. Col. Vindman is afforded all protections anyone would be provided in his circumstances."...

Fox News personality Laura Ingraham accused Vindman of being a spy because Ukrainian officials asked for his advice on how to deal with former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Trump's personal attorney, who was trying to persuade the Ukrainian government to investigate Hunter Biden and help former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort....

According to his military record, Vindman's military awards include the Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), and many more. He's also earned the Ranger Tab, meaning he's completed one of the most challenging schools in the Army, and the Parachutist Badge.

Vindman deployed to Iraq in September 2004, and despite being wounded in combat by an improved explosive device just a month later, he finished the deployment and returned to the U.S. in September 2005.

The only military award Pres Trump has received is a Certificate of Bone Spur.

These attacks on Lt Col Vindman by Trump surrogates are disgusting.

One day, and I think it will be sooner than the brain-dead Trumpers want to believe, there will be a reckoning. History will not be kind to 45's loyalists.

@#3

I am more concerned about Pres Trump being used as a "useful idiot" by Pres Putin, than I am about Lt Col Vindman being a spy.

There is far more questionable activity regarding Pres Trump and Russia.

Perhaps Ms Ingraham should focus her spittle more in that direction....

Republicans only support veterans when it's politically convenient for them.

Their love for the military is as fake and pliable as their patriotism.

Trumpers are merely demonstrating their deep commitment to the environment by watering the tree of liberty with the blood of an actual patriot.

Flynn statement of offense
On December 1, 2017, special counsel Robert Mueller agreed to a plea bargain in which Flynn pleaded guilty to "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia's ambassador. Specifically, Flynn falsely denied that he had asked Russia's ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak on December 29, 2016, "to refrain from escalating ... in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day."[138] Flynn pleaded guilty the same day as such plea bargain and acknowledged that he was cooperating with the investigation by Mueller.[139] Flynn stated;[140]

It has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of "treason" and other outrageous acts....Such false accusations are contrary to everything I have ever done and stood for. But I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right.

Is he innocent now?

#15 Schiffer,

I don't know if he's innocent or not. I do know that exculpatory evidence has been compelled since he switched Counsel and that quite a bit of potentially very damaging evidence of prosecutorial misconduct has come to light.

He plead guilty roughly 2 years ago and still hasn't been sentenced. That right there points to something being amiss. I've been following his case ever since he fired his original representation and hired Sydney Powell.

Through court-forced discovery she's brought a lot to light that points toward gross prosecutorial misconduct.

Anyhow. In retrospect I'm hijacking the thread and I am not inclined to create a thread regarding the Flynn case that is speculative.

So, my apologies to all for mentioning him on this thread.

Fair enough Jeff.
But i think you just need to look at the forest and not the trees.

Also, tilt your nose up 12 degrees to the ------- godawful stench.

This is so far beyond repub/dem.

This is actually a tried-and-true Alex Jones tactic.
JeffJ goes off into Conspiracy Theory land, then pretends he can just wave off all the baseless accusation and innuendo he's just made with an "Excuse me."
And then, he'll make the same baseless accusations next week.

@#16 ... He plead guilty roughly 2 years ago and still hasn't been sentenced. That right there points to something being amiss. ...

When you do a plea deal and pead guilty, you are not sentenced until the prosecutors say you have completed the cooperation part of the plea deal.

Gen Flynn had been cooperating, before he switched lawyers, for a significant amount of time.

... points toward gross prosecutorial misconduct. ...

Yeah, that's what a defense lawyer would say. Whether or not the claim holds up in court remains to be seen.

It has yet to negate the misbehavior already attributed to, and acknowledged by, Gen Flynn.

But why are you deflecting from the disgusting behavior of some Trump supporters towards Lt Col Vindman?

It may not be about Flynn, but he acted as a literal foreign agent, unlike Vindman, and the fact that your side lawyers up with the likes of Powell, Klayman, Cohen, Sekulow, whoever is filing suit against everyone on the behalf of Nunes, etc., etc., just shows that you have terrible judgement and should probably just let this impeachment inquiry play out while the adults work.

Dang it Jeff!

That's not fair!

I didn't get my turn to "do the guy" who arguably sold out his country for a few rubles.

Wasn't he the guy that lied to the FBI about contacts with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak?

I wanted to talk about that! And those "interesting developments" surrounding his conviction for lying about his contacts with the Russians during an FBI investigation about Trump administration contacts with the Russians.

And now I won't get to talk about that! Dang it! oh Well...

Thank Gawd there was No Collusion and everyone was totally exonerated in the end.

#30 has to be, by far, the absolute worst retort I've ever read on this site. Ever.

"My guy got a fictitious medal for creating a false condition to dodge the draft, but by golly, at least he got a medal"?

Like, WTF. Do you see the words you're typing. Do you think about them even a little before hitting enter? I mean, Gawd, this is just so bad it has to be parody, but it's not. I know it's not. JTC this lowers the stupid bar on this site.

That post is the Big Foot of stupid. The Loch Ness. The Empire State Building.

If the stupidity of that post had a population, it would rival Tokyo.

That post : stupid :: Donald Trump : grifter

If that post's stupidity were a meme, it would be so epically popular that it would rival all the Minions posts that Baby Boomer post. Combined.

And you'd still probably brag about the fact that you posted something so mind bogglingly stupid. Because that's essentially what the post did. We'd enter a Stupid-ception, a spiraling universe of greater and greater stupidity that stretches out to the end of time. We'd never actually hit the middle but just stretch out longer and longer as time, energy, sanity, and logic all cease to have any meaning.

That post was the E=MC^stupid of all posts.

Good. Lord.

If Liberal news outlets won't rescind the craptastic, incorrect nonsense they put in their papers sometimes, why should Fox news be held to a different standard? Again, the bar of hypocrisy just keeps getting pushed higher and higher by Libs. Once the same treatment is applied by both sides at all times, articles like this are just nonsense.

Real news outlets correct stories all the time. Fox news doesn't because it's not real news. It was created with the express purpose of deluding chumps into buying into a false reality.
