The U.S. Secret Service paid more than $250,000 to President Trump's private businesses in just the first five months of his presidency -- paying Trump's company an average of nearly $2,000 per day, according to Secret Service records.

That's just what US taxpayers give directly to donald's business interests. Room & Board I'm guessing. I'm sure the normal operating expenses US taxpayers cover are much higher.

How about a itemized bill? The Secret service has about a dozen in the core of the protection detail, add a relief of the same size which runs 24/7. So a minimum of 25 or so. They need to eat, sleep, shower, change clothes, and maintain communications. So they are spending less than 85 bucks per individual per day. Privates in the army get more on separate rations while on TDY. Find a real scandal.

#10 | Posted by Hans Did look, and details are not there. Like how many people were on the detail. How long were they on duty. What did they spend for lodging, food and miscellaneous expense like rental cars. Hell, Air Force One costs about 100G a day to operate setting still. So again, find a real scandal.

The president has set up an extraordinary arrangement: He kept ownership of his businesses and then visited them repeatedly, bringing along aides and security officials, and charging the government for what they bought.

The bloated------------ likely makes his lackeys buy the crap made in his daughter's Chinese sweatshops.

The bloated------------'s first wife also accused him of rape.

The public narrative of Trump's sexually predatory behavior begins in 1993, with Harry Hurt's book "The Lost Tycoon," which included details from a 1990 divorce deposition in which Ivana Trump described her husband violently raping her in Trump Tower, in a fit of anger over a botched scalp surgery.

DOCNJO...
You're kind of missing the whole point. It's not about how much money was spent, it's about the taxpayers money directly into Trump's pocket.

#23 | Posted by TFDNihilist I doubt that, I do note that Clinton and Obama both got rich in office and afterwards. The Bushes were already wealthy. I would believe he is actually losing money, but believe what you will, with out evidence.

#26 | Posted by TFDNihilist at 2019-11-22 11:38 AM | Reply

Well, Reps can't complain about this time of journalism. They did their best during Obama's terms to show how much wasteful spending was being done under his watch. And, if you have been listening, you know that whatever one party starts, the other party joins in when it is their turn to be the attackers.

"You're kind of missing the whole point. It's not about how much money was spent, it's about the taxpayers money directly into Trump's pocket."

Well, it will either go into a person's pockets who is the President and works hard but maybe not effectively (if you are a Rep), or it will go into a person's pockets who refuses to work or do anything and expects free handouts (if you are a Dem). I prefer to give it to the guy who is actually doing something, even if he is a dumbass who is already rich. At least he contributes to the whole supply/demand thing that RUNS OUR COUNTRY'S ECONOMIC SYSTEM.

I'm confused, are you saying that the vendors that the Dems use for the SS (which, unlike Trump, aren't themselves) don't provide the services they charge for? That the hotels and rental car companies and restaurants aren't providing the goods they're payed for?

#36 | Posted by TFDNihilist Been reading the book on Grant, now on the causes of the impeachment of Johnson. Johnson was repugnant, who sided with the southern aristocracy, the same folks that Grant had been fighting for years. Watched a lot of the hearings, and the similarities are profound. The big difference is the radical Republicans have been replaced with radical Democrats. As far as an impeachable offense, the evidence isn't there. Even the most hostile of the witnesses admitted that the damn Yankee never asked for a quid pro quo. Even if he had, that is something POTUS do commonly. Bureaucrats don't like change. They have repeatedly said so. Well, tough cookies, he was elected, they were hired. The Biden issue is more a embarrassment to Democrats than Trump. All this sound and furry is going to fall flat. Even if the House delivers Articles of Impeachment, it will die in the Senate.
