Nunes should now recuse himself from the impeachment hearings and if he refuses to do then his Republican colleagues should remove him from the committee.

"Nunes had met with Shokin in Vienna last December"

Nunes is the cheating husband who accuses everyone else of infidelity.

Who could forget Nunes' mysterious midnight dash through dark alleys and door wells enroute to the back door of the White House . . . and the embarrassing mea culpa the next day.

Yea, he's still one of Trump's tools.

"Who could forget Nunes' mysterious midnight dash through dark alleys and door wells enroute to the back door of the White House"

Because he HAD to tell the White House some amazing news he'd gotten from...

...the White House!

I chuckled through this entire post. Nunes puts the more, in moron.

A very, VERY dull knife.

Yeah, I think that was supposed to be some astounding revelation that Trump needed to back up his assertion that Obama wire tapped/conducted surveillance on Trump Tower . . . or some such thing.

Nunes forgot to pull up his zipper on that one, too.

Now that Nunes has inserted himself into the investigation over that trip to Ukraine to dig up dirt on Biden by talking to Ukraine's ex-prosecutor (according to Giuliani's associate) maybe Nunes should do their cause a favor and recuse himself from the Intel Committee . . . like forever!

Intel means Intelligence which is something Nunes doesn't have.

If Shokin had anything on the Bidens, don't you think Nunes would have gotten it?

If Nunes had gotten it, don't you think he would have used it?

He didn't get it, so he told people it was there anyway. This is the definition of slime. No doubt, Repubs will cry "Nothing wrong here!" Under their party's standards, I guess they'd be right.

Nunes is yet another of Trump's not so bright defenders who turns out to be a criminal.

I mean, s'riously, how ignorantly arrogant does one have to be to have had anything to do with this
"drug deal", as Bolton named it, to then involve yourself as the Chief Defender of the Pres in an impeachment hearing?

What hubris. His balls are way bigger than his brains.

CORKY ~~ I'm inclined to believe that Nunes has neither.

He's a petty opportunist who is always looking for a "big score."

He may even have delusions about riding that "big score" all the way to the Oval Office someday.

It's all a bit weird though, 'cause he looks normal, sitting there all polished up and hair dyed coifed, like right out of Central Casting.

But then he opens his mouth and spews venom all over everybody.

BTW Have you seen Manafort lately. He's gone albino.

And I think he's suddenly developed curvature of the spine.

That's what friends of Trump turn into.

Apparently, Rep Nunes does not like the reporting...

Nunes suggests CNN, Daily Beast committed crimes with reporting on Ukraine prosecutor
www.axios.com

House Intelligence Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) claimed on Fox News on Sunday that he is taking CNN and the Daily Beast "likely into federal court" for their reporting on allegations that he met with former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden.

The backdrop: The Daily Beast and CNN reported last week that the attorneys for Lev Parnas, an associate of Rudy Giuliani's who was indicted last month, said their client is willing to tell Congress about phone calls and meetings in Vienna in 2018 between Nunes and Shokin. Nunes said on Fox that by working with someone under indictment, the two outlets were "likely conspiring to obstruct justice."

It's unclear what Nunes would sue the publications for. If he sues for defamation, he would have to prove as a public official that the outlets acted with actual malice and reckless disregard for the truth.

However, both publications reported on statements that Parnas' attorneys released and neither issued any claims regarding the truth of the statements....

Records Back Claim That Nunes Huddled With Ukraine Prosecutor Ousted Over Corruption

Congressional records show that Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) flew to Europe at the same time that Rudy Giuliani's indicted crony Lev Parnas says the congressman met with an ousted Ukrainian prosecutor in a hunt for dirt on Joe Biden.

Nunes and three aides flew to Europe last year on Nov. 30 and returned Dec. 3 at a cost to taxpayers of $63,000, according to congressional records unearthed by The Daily Beast.

Anyone NOT surprised as I'm not surprised?

@#16

I figured Rep Nunes' lawsuit against CNN and Buzzfeed was more for exciting the Republican base than it was for actually expecting to win.

To my eyes, if Rep Nunes' had any sort of case in this he would not sue CNN and Buzzfeed, he'd go after the source of the information, and that looks like Mr Parnas.

However, the optics, and ethics, of Rep Nunes investigating something in which he may have participated are certainly damning.

Even they thought they overstepped the bounds of right wing stupidity and had no choice but to see it through.

But the gullibility and stupid sheep-like nature of the GOP base is proving far more resilient than anybody expected.

They don't even blink at brazen corruption and government being used in all the ways they claim not to like.

So, Schiff supposedly having bias because the whistleblower talked to one of his aides before where he was told to talk to IG lawyers is "the biggest thing ever", but Nunes engaging in the EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR that Trump is being investigated for impeachment over is "nothing".

Huh.

#24 | Posted by gtbritishskull at 2019-11-25 08:55 AM | Reply

So, you have recordings of both [Russian journalist Ksenia] Sobchak and [Russian model and singer Olga] Buzova where they're discussing the compromising material on Mr. Trump?" Schiff asked the callers posing as Parubiy.

"Absolutely," one of the pranksters responded.

"Well obviously we would welcome a chance to get copies of those recordings," Schiff said later in the call after he and the fake "Parubiy" go on to discuss more details of the bogus allegations.

The Russian radio hosts, Vladimir "Vovan" Kuznetzov and Alexey "Lexus" Stolyarov, who have close ties to the Kremlin, told Schiff that the Kremlin had naked photos of Trump and that "Parubiy" could provide audio of Sobchak and Buzova discussing the photos. They also told Schiff that former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn had met with another Russian to talk about how to prevent the photos from going public.

My understanding is that Schiff never asked for the photos, and he was trying to arrange for how both the intelligence committee AND THE FBI could get copies of the recordings.

What are you saying he should have done differently? Foreigners having "compromising material" on the President is a SERIOUS national security issue. What would have been the "correct" way to deal with this call to ensure that US interests were protected. And, how is your "correct" way different from what he actually did???

The announcement of pending law suits is simply a pretext Nunez has tossed up so he can use the imaginary law suits as a basis to refuse to respond to questions over the allegations.

Nunes is claiming this is patently false and he claims to be setting up a defamation lawsuit against CNN and Daily Beast.

Have any other outlets corroborated any of this?

Riiiiiiight. Right after Trump sues those 20 women.

"Every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign," Trump said during remarks in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. "Total fabrication. The events never happened. Never. All of these liars will be sued after the election is over."

Gee, I guess the election isn't "over" yet.

Seriously. How often have conservatives claimed they would sue the press and then backed down after their goldfish base forgot about it?

Conservatives have shown themselves to not care about lying. They even DEFEND it, saying that it is OK because it "triggers" liberals. They have no credibility so any claims they make I won't even bother thinking about until they present actual evidence that supports what they are saying. Because their pattern of behavior indicates that they are lying. And it is effective for them to do so because their gullible base eats it up.

If Trump had said this even Jeff would have said it is probably BS. And all the other conservatives are becoming more and more like Trump. Not because their morals or values or changing. But because Trump is showing them new tactics that before conservatives thought would not work. They shied away from blatantly lying to the public before not because lying would conflict with their morals, but because they thought the public would punish them for it. Now they realize that their base doesn't care at all about it, and it is game on for emulating Trump. Trump has shown them that they can go low and be effective (at least with the conservative base), and now all the conservatives are chomping at the bit wondering how far they can push it.
