The NFL tried to put on a public relations Dog & Pony Show, and Kap basically told them to stuff it.

We have dramatically different views on this. Kaepernick requested the workout and the NFL approved it. Far from trying to make it a dog and pony show, the NFL was holding the workout to established parameters, in an NFL facility, with 75% of NFL teams in attendance.

KAEPERNICK turned it into a circus. His performance was lackluster, but he didn't care, because that's not why he was there. He was there for publicity, from his last-minute changes of venue, his pre-conditions, his wardrobe, his rants...it was theater, not athletics. He proved without a shadow of doubt that he would be locker room poison and a huge distraction for any team stupid enough to sign him.

He protested the police gunning down black men over and over. Mustang and his band of racists are just wrong. Kaepernick did the courageous thing, sacrificed his career. It's easy for white guys to criticize him because the know other white guys will back them up but they are wrong and slowly but surely the nation is recognizing how wrong they are. Kaepernick will be seen in history as a hero and the NFL will be seen as a bastion of racism.
Standing for the national anthem cannot ever be mandatory, when it is then allegiance is meaningless.

It was never anything but that. Most of the teams agreeing to show up already have QBs in long contracts and Kaep is way over budget for average.

He certainly got a lot of attention debuting new Air Force Ones. That's how you do a marketing stunt.

If he willingly "sacrificed his career", why attend a workout he requested?

He would have done a lot more to affect change by not "protesting" but talking about it on camera, at cities where he was playing, meeting with the police, meeting with communities.

2-5 years nothing has changed. Whereas if he put in the work and effort to make change happen.

Taking a knee is a nice feel good gesture, but doesn't do anything constructive.

He certainly got a lot of attention debuting new Air Force Ones.

Didn't notice .... :)

While true, there were teams that need QB's. short and longer term.

What would be interesting is to know how much time Kap spent getting ready?

Physically, mentally, did he work with a QB coach, go over game film, learn anything from the past?

As an NFL team/scout that would be much more important than one day workout.

Kaepernick is like Greta Thunberg. We are condemned to hear "news" about him the rest of our lives.

His biggest problem was that he lost his starting job to a guy who is now 3rd string.

He was already the backup QB when he started the whole kneeling thing.

Teams are willing to put up with quite a bit from star players. When a back up QB creates PR problems? Forget about it.

His recent stunt proved that he doesn't even want to play. He's made tens of millions of dollars and he wants to claim victimhood. Good riddance and for Pete's sake get a haircut.

The funniest part of this to me is that I had no idea Kaepernick was black until he told us.

Well he was coming off his 3rd surgery and it was preseason, he started the 6th game of the season, played a total of 12 games in 2016.

His recent stunt proved that he doesn't even want to play.

Agreed, he wanted to be traded once they brought ChipKelly over.

The funniest part for me was watching his instagram change from a player enjoying fans and Benjamins to a political statement, it happened instantly when he hooked up with his politically active DJ of a girlfriend... .

Kaepernick is just another Al Bundy. A failure at football and became a shoe salesperson.

White identity politics vs non-compliant African American.

"and became a shoe salesperson."

I have wondered if he really wanted to play football, why he didn't go to Canada. Shine there and maybe he would get a look here.
