Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, November 27, 2019

On a late Monday afternoon, Dave Mustaine is feeling good at his Tennessee home. His neighbors' cows are mooing at each other -- loudly -- and when he gets on the phone with Rolling Stone, he reports, "I'm just dealing with life."

In May, the Megadeth frontman was diagnosed with cancer and needed to step away from the spotlight.

"I'm on the other side of the majority of the treatment, and I feel really strong," he says. "After the radiation, the guy said all of my test results looked amazing. You look like you're in a stage 1 and you're supposed to be in stage 3 right now.' And then the oncologist said the same thing: You look really strong.' So we kept moving through the process."

"Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes
Swaying to the symphony
Of destruction"

Kind of fits a large segment of this country at this time.

The man has my sympathy. Cancer treatment is brutal. The chemo is bad but generally not as bad as it used to be but the radiation... Especially the radiation. After helping my mother this past year as she went through it for breast cancer I can't imagine radiation on your neck/throat. (She is "cancer free" at this time.)

Yet another example of why you don't smoke...

The treatments cause strong people to want to give up but don't, there is a return to good health for many, sadly not for all.
