Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

About 90 additional foreign students at a fake university in metro Detroit created by the Department of Homeland Security have been arrested in recent months. A total of about 250 students have now been arrested since January on immigration violations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of a sting operation by federal agents who enticed foreign-born students, mostly from India, to attend the school that marketed itself as offering graduate programs in technology and computer studies, according to ICE officials. Many of those arrested have been deported, while others are contesting their removals. One has been allowed to stay after being granted lawful permanent resident status by an immigration judge.

What does "legal students" mean?

Back in the mid-80's I worked in an office building directly across the street from where this so-called 'campus' was located.

What does "legal students" mean?

That means the headline was BS.

#5 | Posted by Sniper at 2019-11-28 01:38 PM | Reply

Most of these "Students" are actually H2b's. Supposedly, the corporations hiring them have to purchase airline tickets to return them back to India under the updated H2b laws. There is a penalty for not doing so.... wonder if ICE is collecting that penalty? Sure would like to know which corporations supported them and brought them to America... that should be public knowledge.

They enrolled them at a fake university they thought was legit on legit student visas then deported them because the school was fake and the visas require enrollment at a legit university. The students played by the rules. ICE did not

So you wont mind if the police make a fake auto insurance company, sell you a "policy" then arrest you the next time you drive for not having insurance?

"Mommy, when I grow up I want to join ICE and help destroy people's live while deporting them from fake universities set up to trick students."

I feel like Americans need Indians (and others) to fill the education/production gap.

It's not Snoofy or Hatter will ever be able to fill that role.

The best argument for immigration is the fact that many US citizens are kinda worthless...and you can bet your ass that the developing world has interest in someone who couldn't make it in the US, where you kinda have already succeeded by default.

Does it really make sense, in your mind, that the US government would set up a fake school JUST to bring in visa students then kick them out of the country? That doesn't make any sense, so why on Earth would you just believe it on the face of it?

www.freep.com
"Prosecutors allege the students recruited hundreds of other students to enroll at the University of Farmington as part of a "pay to stay" scheme where foreign students could remain in the U.S. while working. ...

In a separate criminal case, eight immigrants were charged with being recruiters, taking kickbacks and cash in exchange for referring students to the University of Farmington."

This is a pay-to-play/kickback/bribery to break the law case. Coming from India, where bribery is the norm, I'm not surprised.

Imagine thinking the government wouldn't lie to you to trick you and deport you.

Clearly we don't want people like that in America.

Just in case you libs have a short memory.

Cruel and appalling' fake university ICE sting started under Obama

THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER:

The "fake university" ICE sting at the center of many outraged tweets from Democrats was originally launched under President Barack Obama in 2015.

You have a low opinion of the intelligence of these "students". They knew it was a scam. If they didn't at first, the lack of professors and classes would have given it away.

Our government shouldn't be in the scam business.

It doesnt matter when it started. ICE is a bastion of conservatism. This program was started by ICE, not by President Obama. It is just another example of tge complete lack of ethics in the republican party. Republicans has full control of the House an Senate in 2015.

ICE enforces our migration laws and nothing more. Don't you want a country hat? No borders, no country.

#25 | Posted by Sniper at 2019-11-30 12:28 PM | Reply

Exactly - why don't people want our country to have and maintain immigration laws?!

Refresh my memory, is there a border between the USA and Canada?

You are so funny little snippy.

Which immigrants get to decide which immigrants get to stay in this country of immigrants? You snippy?

Yeah. You Sure are a funny One little snippy.

Bet you don't even know how or when or even why ICE was created.

It was created after 911

"ICE's primary mission is to "prevent acts of terrorism by targeting the people, money, and materials that support terrorist and criminal activities," as described by the Department of Justice in 2004. The focus was meant to be on crimes like money-laundering and human trafficking, and ways terrorists could get anything from small pox to suitcase bombs into the country."

Yeah. So deportations were not even in the original list of things to do. And now it's all they do. Interesting how that happened isn't it?

Yeah. I bet you didn't even know that.

But I bet there is a lot you deplorables don't know and don't want to know.

Sad!
