Alex Morris: On the morning of September 29th, six weeks before the 2016 election, Donald Trump was in a conference room at Trump Tower in New York talking to leaders of the religious right about sex-reassignment surgery.

I thought Trump won the Christian Right the instant he said he'd punish women for having abortions.

Because their beliefs are really just justifications for what they want and Jeebus magically always agrees?

He won when he told them he would go along with biblical punishments for homosexuals. Those ignorant pieces of filth place homosexuality above almost any other sin, they are the people who would have pounded the nails through Jesus's hands and feet.

Two Corinthians told me that the phony Christian right love Trump because of the judges he nominated. The hypocrites see the end of abortion rights resulting from the phalanx of conservative judges who collectively will outlaw abortion in this country. All of Trumps flaws and other indiscretions mean nothing to these folks--they see Trump's past as an opportunity for forgiveness, forgetting that Jesus typically advised forgiven sinners to 'go and sin no more'...

Are there NO Christians on the left? Why is every Christian believer labeled a radical right winger?

The real reason TRUE God fearing Christians - right and LEFT wingers - love Pres Trump is that HE openly criticizes the use of abortion as a regular method of birth control. Pres Trump despises the murdering of 700,000 voicelss American babies each and every year.

LOL sure thing rube.

All you've admitted to is being easily manipulated. Nothing more, nothing less.

But then again, that was a given if you're that true of a believer.

If abortion is murder, prosecute the women that get them. If you think prosecuting women that get abortions is extreme, then you don't think abortions are murder. It's one or the other. Hang women that get abortions or STFU.

Trump is a sociopath. If murdering 700,000 would assure re-election next year, that's what he'd do.

#12 | Posted by Zed at 2019-12-03 11:36 AM | Reply

#11 | Posted by lee_the_agent Perhaps that could happen. But to do so those in charge would have to guarantee supporting every bastard and unwanted child in the country. Giving the government control of about 4 to 8 million children is like giving a baby a razor blade to play with. I seriously doubt they would want to spend the money.
What ever costume and makeup a pol wears, they are all sociopaths, egomaniacs, and predators. The longer they hold power, the more aggressive their criminality becomes. Power corrupts no matter how it is metered out. We need term limits in congress. How about three terms in the house and two in the senate? We need an infusion of reality into those chambers that only a few fresh faces can bring.

Trump cares for no one but himself.

If you think otherwise I feel bad for you.

He will leverage your beliefs as a weapon in order to stay in office as long as possible.

He has definitely paid for double digit abortions so all this pious nonsense is really just turning away youngernfolksnfrom religion.

This is not a right or left issue.

Everyone should be able to enjoy their beliefs without thrusting them upon others.

If you are tying to use this ------ to make the world more Christian I'd wager you're gonna get what you paid for.

sobering article.....Politics is a transactional game, and presidents don't need to be moral to be effective. nails it.

Also, I found it interesting that the religious right leaders claimed Trump reached out to their group much more than did Romney, Bush, or McCain.

Omg, this crap again. Every day it's the same thing. Reps had articles all the time over why Dems worshiped Obama; why Dems think Obama is the Messiah...and Dems hated them. But now the Dems think it's a good strategy only because they are the ones doing it now. If Millennials and newer gens are mad at boomers and older generations for ruining things, the first thing they need to fix is partisan-hate hypocrisy. It does nothing but make things worse, literally...it does absolutely NOTHING constructive and only serves to spread hate. If you can fix that one thing, political dialogue and compromise are immensely easier.

No 'worshiping' on the right compared to the left and their media's fawning over obama for with years.

As far as I can tell, the hypocrites in the "Christian" right think as follows:
Abortion--bad. Gun rights--good.
Allowing Central Americans to flee criminal gangs--bad. Deportation of brown-skinned folk--good.
Healthcare for drug addicts--bad. Dead addicts on the street--better than giving them healthcare.
Higher taxes for public schools--bad. Higher taxes for religious 'charter' schools--good, so long as that religion is Christianity.
Muslims--bad. Wars in the Middle East--good, if lots of Muslims are killed.
Conservation of natural resources--bad. Climate change--good.
Christmas--good, as long as you get a lot of stuff. Givng of yourself and your time, talent and treasure--bad.
Russia--good. The Democratic party--bad.

Fat Nixon and the GOP had COMPLETE control over the government for two years.

What did they do? They allowed companies to pollute more. They rolled back worker protections that help the poor working class. They are killing ACA which has protections for the poor and middle class to buy health insurance. They passed a tax cut bill that favors the 1% with 90% of the benefits.

So where was their bill banning abortions?

Oh yeah, that's right there wasn't one. Because they only see abortion as a campaign issue to fool the truly stupid into voting for their 1% agenda. You gullible rubes keep handing them power in exchange for blatant fooking lies.

They don't give a ---- about the aborted babies.

If they cared about babies at all they would fund prenatal care for mothers, child health insurance, universal pre-k, better fund education and student lunches.

We can't keep track of how many times Trump supporters, Republicans and right-wing commentators have literally said Trump has been chosen by God. We're hearing it even more lately.

Never heard anything remotely close with Obama.

Republicans by and large don't care about the unborn. They use the unborn as a means to wrest control over women's bodies. They can't stand the fact women can decide for themselves what is proper for her and her body without a man's input.

Why the Christian Right Worships Trump...

title should be how Trump invites church leaders to prayer breakfasts and lunches to curry their membership who are also voters...

he doesn't insult them or call them names... he's not afraid to be seen with them.... sure it's hard work... but this is how you win elections...

so come the November Trump landslide... you'll all know where some of these voters came from...

Reminder: Trump is a thrice married philander who cheated on his third wife with a porn star while she was nursing his fifth child and he is a serial sexual assaulter who once openly bragged on a hot mic about how he liked to commit sexual...

...and he is seeking their help and forgiveness... and they'll just eat it all up...

this is how you play the game...

They dumb. ....

yep, Democrats sure are.... if name calling and cyberbullying is all they got....

Biden said it was inadvertent due to his not knowing the proper rules of citation, and he was permitted to retake the course after receiving an "F" grade, which was subsequently dropped from his record. Tell millions of voters that they are a basket of deplorables. Tell them they are beyond ignorant, and are inbred morons with a family fetish. Then tell them they are stupid to worship their God,(their imaginary friend) read the bible, or have guns. Then expect them to support you or even listen to you? Who is the stupid one in this situation?
