Republican businesswoman Kelly Loeffler was appointed Wednesday to a soon-to-be-vacated U.S. Senate seat in Georgia by Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Ga.) -- despite efforts by President Trump to install a higher-profile ally and lingering concerns among conservative leaders about the political novice's ideology.

Well, Trump's show pony, Rep. Collins is no longer auditioning for a senate seat. But attack dog Gaetz is already tweeting that Kemp's decision to go against Trump's wishes will become Kemp's political demise.

Gotta stock up on popcorn while watching this one....

Trump's enemies list grows longer and longer. Maybe one day he'll trip and fall on it.

"Kemp's decision to go against Trump's wishes will become Kemp's political demise"

Kemp's decision is accurately read as Trump's weakness.

Kemp appointed a wealthy conservative woman (publicly announced she'll spend $20 million of her own money) to fill the seat in a state where a Democratic black woman almost defeated him in the last election. I give him credit for recognizing where his electorate is moving, and I think he also made this appointment with an eye of Abrams perhaps throwing her own hat in the ring on the Democratic side even though she's saying that she won't.

Brian Kemp has always been a never trumper and a radical leftist.

Good for Kemp, this was his choice to make.

"...this was his choice to make."

Not in Trumpland it isn't.

Kemp stole an election, right out in the open. How can anyone respect him today as he appoints one of his biggest campaign contributors to the Senate? she bought a Senate seat, pure and simple and she will have the right to govern because of her purchase. I;m not saying trump's choice would have been better but that we have sunk to such a terrible level of oligarchy that Ambassadorships and now Senate seats are up for sale to the highest bidders.
Sad day for America brought to you by the SC and the Republican Party.
